1 star just so I can post this comment. Rudest service ever and the server literally beg for tips when we paid. I gave him 6% tip because thats way too much for the service we received. Pretty awful sushi to say the least. Watered down soya sauce. Everything looks old. Brown avocados in my sushi. Dried out brown wasabi. Waiters constantly hovering over the table made me uncomfortable. I work in the service industry. I understand the need to give good service but to be constantly being looked over and interrupted while eating is not enjoyable. Also the sushi is lathered in mayo making it impossible to grab with chop sticks and makes for a strange texture in my mouth. You can't taste the fish. All you can taste is mayo. Don't order anything with tuna in it the tuna is light pink and translucide. I thought it was salmon at first. Just all around bad. There are so many better sushi restaurants in the area read more

Due to the terrible service, I will not be coming back here. It's a shame because the food is good quality. My girlfriend and I were given attitude when asking for a booth, and then told off later for moving a table ourselves after waiting 10 minutes for the waiter to return to do it. After tipping 10% instead of 15% we were shamed by the waiter and the situation was further escalated. I have never had any problems with any other restaurant's service before, but this put me over the edge. read more

The quality of food surpasses Kanda and Sushi St.Jean hands down. We were impressed with how fresh everything was. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was fast. The only downside is that they don't have tablets as yet so there was a bit of confusion. Still give then a five star. Driving along St. John's last Saturday, my daughter and I spotted a new restaurant which was all you can eat. It was 11:30 am and I sent my daughter in to see if she could eat there as she is vegan. She spoke with one of the waiters who was very polite, friendly and informative. We were seated comfortably. People were coming in all the time. You select what you want from a full menu on a tablet which goes directly to the kitchen. Then the waitress or waiter bring it to your table. Sushi comes in orders if three, tempura orders of one and little hot dishes such as curry beef, general Tao chicken come on a little plate. Service was quick and efficient. Many choices of soup as well. We really really liked the experience and look forward to returning. Good value for lunch at $15.97. Don't miss it. read more

One of my new favourites all-you-can-eat sushi! I've been to tons in downtown, and this one tops them all (Zushi, Sushi Crescent, Kanda, Sushi Sainte-Catherine). Everything tastes fresh here. Do not go here unless you are prepared to be humiliated by the owner! Ate here with two other friends. We are a group of paramedics. At the end of the meal, the owner came to our table and asked my friend to empty her coat pocket. They were empty. She began asking all of us to empty our pockets. We were accused of stealing sushi pieces (??). Get ready for this: afterward when I went to use the washroom, I sat down and noticed the employee WATCHING ME THROUGH THE CRACK OF THE STALL DOOR!!! I screamed at her to get out. I went back to our table and the owner was screaming at us saying she checked her cameras and saw us put a sushi piece in a napkin... She threatened to call the police, we told her to go ahead! We asked her how much money was she looking for from us but finally we paid our bill and left. Never going back! read more

Last night, Saturday, November 17th, 2018, around 8pm, my daughter with her two girl friends ate at this restaurant, after waiting for an hour to be seated, they were finally called to a table. On their way to that table the server which was also the manager pushed her and told her "to get off his way". Angered by this my daughter at the end of the meal didn't give a tip. But the same server who pushed her rudely demanded for a tip. My daughter didn't want to give him a tip coz he was so arrogant and rude during the whole table service so as she was putting her jacket on and ready to leave, this manager chased her and demanded a tip, he entered 15% on the machine and forced my daughter to tap her card for tip. She was so scared and felt harassed and frightened that if she didn't give a tip she would go to jail. She then asked me few minutes ago if it's "Illegal" in Montreal to not leave a tip. I said "NO!" She is not obliged to leave a tip esp if you had a bad service all meal through! I am so upset at this restaurant, we frequent this restaurant but I don't think we will ever go back again! How dare that manager threatened a poor teenager like that! So UNACCEPTABLE! read more

Oh well, it's over! When Matsuno first opened it was the absolute best AYCE sushi restaurant in the West Island. The sushi was delicious, the sashimi was fresh and generous and every dish was served beautifully decorated. After going there once a week, I can certainly tell you that now everything changed. No matter how much sashimi you order, they refuse to give you more than 20 very small pieces even though we were 5 people and had to share it. They will also make you wait a very long time for sashimi and you have to keep asking for it. They never fill your order and you have to keep asking for the stuff you want. Nothing is delicious anymore so we are going back to the reliable AYCE restaurants which is too bad because Matsuno's decor was the nicest for an evening out. But it's just horrible to beg to be fed. read more

Well that was a lot of hype for sure. We went for lunch so it's a slightly smaller menu I think. The sushi was limited in scope and looked and tasted about as average as every other AYCE place really. The non sushi items were generally just ok however the sesame beef was quite good. The beef ramen was disgusting though. Maybe it's as I didn't expect a weird soupy thing. The peanut butter dumplings were more spic than peanut butter as well. The service is fast and they tell you what they're brining but it was mumbled. What brought it down is we got there about 2 for lunch. They sat us down no problem and we ordered, they forgot a couple of dishes which was fine as I don't stress on that in an AYCE place but when I tried to order more they asked if that was it as it was last call. Perhaps tell people that before sitting down to begin with so they know they're on a clock? Was decent but won't be running back. read more
