Well now I see why he has "reasonable rates." Unfortunately, he did NOT live up to his reviews to say the least. His bid said it would only take him 8 hours. It became clear right off the bat that he didn't know what he was doing when, I, who is not handy, had to ask him to cover our plants before he started prepping our cement patio for the paint job.... he then never thought to cover our bbq made with real stone and beautiful stainless steel doors so that when he put the etching solution on the stained patio it sprayed up on them eating away the stainless steel... He had to go back and forth to the hardware store because as it turned out he "read the directions wrong" and didn't need to actually etch the type of cement we had. At the end of his first day he didn't even begin to paint the cement. We sent him the above picture as well as the receipt of how much we paid for them which was actually more than his entire bid. I get why this would make him upset as he clearly would now be losing money on this job. But he should have been pissed at himself not at us!! He spent another several hours angrily trying to fix HIS mistake in hopes that he wouldn't have to buy us the new doors. "Surprisingly" (with sarcasm if the quotations didn't clue you in) none of what he tried worked so his bright idea was to then use a sanding machine and sand it off... Once we expressed frustration over the destruction of our doors and that this would obviously not work for us, he attempted to paint the first coat. Not only did he water down the paint which the directions CLEARLY stated not too, he sloppily and quickly rolled out the first of the three required coats then angrily packed up all his gear and walked off the job telling me "...let's call it EVEN," leaving us stuck with having to buy new doors and hire another contractor to finish his horrible job! Tell me Mr. Cavan how is this anywhere NEAR EVEN! Best of luck to YA!! We will be sending a letter to the Contracting licensing board!!

Hard to decipher in the photo, but I needed a specialist to really figure out how secure the wall, make it safe, so my neighbors yard wouldn't sink into ours.They showed up promptly with a big cement truck and did a great job! Brian re-laid each brick by hand, he was courteous, reliable and did a honest job. Since then, I have also hired him to build me a 16' shed. He took the time to sketch out a rough draft we discussed colors he took extra time to get it right. He has great quality craftsmanship and it came out beautifully.

Most people I asked were afraid of the job or would bombard me without any details. Andrew was a real human that got on a call with me, broke down his process, added details to help me understand (because there was a leaf and metal inside the table to complicate matters) and was fully transparent about his availability. He also mentioned a generous price because it was my grandmother, which he didn't have to do. He showed up at the time window I requested (time windows are best for contractors because job times vary). My kids wanted to watch and he was friendly and approachable. He requested to work outside so that he could keep my place as tidy as possible. I have a high-volume life and I was able to trust him to work on his own, go to Home Depot and back for more tools he needed unexpectedly (he was prepared but that table needed more maintenance), and lock up my house properly when he left. I would trust him with high-profile clients and really weird jobs. Andrew is a good guy, straight arrow, and a sharp shooter.
