In a city full of realtors....how do you distinguish yourself? It's honestly a question I asked…read morerealtors that would approach me (and there is A TON) when posting to FB groups, etc. Most of them don't have a rebuttal...Clay's answer? By distinguishing himself through customer service. I came to contact Clay through a referral of a fellow coworker that held him in extremely high regard. I'm a numbers guy, so I always think to myself, what's the payout like for their time? Well I'm here to tell you that for realtors and rentals, it's not all that high. It's a volume game, and the truth of the matter is that realtors stand to make a lot more from clients that are buying/selling rather than leasing. Even with that in mind, Clay's responsiveness was top notch throughout the whole time, and with the crazy Austin market in mind we needed a realtor that was going to be if we were hoping to win out during the application process. Our particular situation was one where Clay was out of the office in a different country and STILL coordinated with his office to see a property the same day it was listed and get the paperwork completed the next morning. Even the listing agent had stated that the property had double digit applications within 48 hours. Thanks to Clay's quick action we ended up winning out on a beautiful rental in an excellent location and we couldn't be more grateful!

We worked with Elliot Stewart here to secure a property. Everything went great until it came time…read moreto sign the lease, when he informed us that we would now be working with University Realty - a completely separate realty company. There had been no mention of this, no warning or anything. Now, there was a reason we were working with Austin City Realty - so that we WOULDN'T have to work with any other companies, which were all terribly rated. So it was an unpleasant surprise when we were suddenly shoved over to University Realty and made to wait for two weeks for any progress on the lease. In the end, we didn't sign the lease because the lease had ridiculous fees which no one had told us about, and we lost our deposit. What I'm saying is that working with Elliot was great, but he did not tell us that the property we were interested in was under another company or anything at all that gave us the slightest idea that we would be shuffled on over to University Realty UNTIL it was time to sign the lease. If we were able to stay with Austin City Realty, we probably would have had a much better experience than we did, but it just seems as though they didn't really care very much.

By the time I had reached Pure Apt Locating, I only had about a month to find a 1 bedroom 1 bath with all the amenities I wanted and that's not such an easy task considering my lease would be right as school starts up. Luckily, I got an ad for Pure and was put in contact with Adrienne! She was the most thorough locator I've had and listened to all of my concerns. She's so driven and great to work with. When we met up, she had already called all the properties we were visiting and made sure that they could offer me the exact rate they advertised and sometimes additional move-in offers! Adrienne made sure that I didn't have any unrealistic expectations when we started searching which I think really made the process seamless. I signed with a complex and even afterwards, she's been so helpful in making sure that I don't have any additional questions but also in contacting the leasing office while I'm at work and cannot. After a couple phone calls and checking out three homes Dan knew exactly what we wanted even though we weren't 100% sure ourselves. We went back and forth on it for a month and then ultimately bought a super similar house in the same part of town just like he predicted. Dan was also very useful when it came to the walk through and inspection. He took a bunch of high quality photos on his iPad that were well organized. This made sure we didn't miss anything and saved us a bunch of time. He's also offered to help us multiple times after we were closing to take care a couple odds and ends the seller missed. The only complaint I have is he was a bit aggressive on the closing schedule. We closed in a little under 30 days when we probably could have taken more time. This was a bit stressful because of covid and worrying about getting our appraisal done in time. That being said Austin is a hot market and we really didn't want to lose another house ‍
