Asked Edison to do a regulating and voicing job. Cost much more than a tuning job but he did a thorough work that took 3 hours. That includes regulating the actions, tightening up the keys so they will not wobble, filing and shaping the hammers, fixing the pedal noise and of course tuning. After voicing, my Kawai US55 sounds much more lively than round and boring. I felt some keys sounded a bit off that night, might be normal after regulating or due to the AC. He did come back and spend another one and a half hour to fix everything. Overall satisfied. You just have to meticulously make sure it meets your expectations. I wanted to learn how to play the violin and I was walking by this store with a friend and I saw violins in the window!!! We walk into the store and there is an Asian woman sitting in the back on her cell phone having a personal discussion. I think nothing of it, we walk around the store for a bit but then after 5 minutes she is still on the phone laughing and completely ignoring us. The store is empty, we are the only customers. It is worth noting that my friend and I are Black, in our 40s, dressed casually. I'm wearing a silk hawiaiian shirt with blue jeans. Her phone call ends and I approach her. She looks at me as if she is annoyed. I ask her if they rent violins. She laughs and says, "no, they are cheap we only sell." I asked "How much are they?" and she says "$100 to $300". Then I said, "You have violins that are only $100?" She replies, "Yes". Then I said, "Which ones are the ones that are $100? She says "the used ones" and she just waves her hand towards the wall with all the violins. I walk over to the wall where the violins are and there are no signs saying "used" violins. SO, I'm standing by the violins looking at her from across the room and she can't be bothered to look at me. She gets back on the phone and resumes her conversation. All I wanted was to see the violins that were $100, play them for a second and then buy one. But apparently, I'm not important enough for her to treat with basic dignity and respect. So, after standing by the violins for another 5 minutes my friend and I leave. I don't know if she is racist or just rude and inconsiderate. I expressed interest in a product, asked to see the product (when I asked "which ones are the $100 violins") and she just didn't care.
