Dr Waldman has been been my physician for 25 years. In that time he has ordered tests that I believe other doctors would have been "wait and see". These tests have resulted in life saving treatment, not once, but twice. Both my husband and I have been going to Dr. Michael Waldman for many years. Our two older daughters have been his patients since they switched from their pediatrician. We have experienced nothing but professional, caring, and excellent treatment from Dr. Waldman and his staff. I personally like having the option of using his Registered Nurse Practitioners for my GYN appointments. Dr. Waldman was also instrumental on getting referrals for my husband's cancer treatment and even asked me how he was doing when I was in. His office staff is friendly and puts you right at ease. I never feel like I am being rushed and through out the whole process everyone makes sure that you have all your questions answered. Bottom line is Dr. Michael Waldman's office is the Best-of-the-Best. We moved to Huntington Beach from Irvine 4 years ago and all of us continue to go to his office. I would rather drive a few extra miles to go to a doctor's office that I trust and know will take excellent care of me and my family. read more

I don't like to see doctor. I had skipped regular doctor visit for 4 years before I see Dr. Waldman and I am with him for 2 years now. I read the latest 2 bad reviews (on GOOGLE) and it is not what I experienced. Doctor Waldman is very patient and detail. He is nice. We even chat like friends. I needed an urgent care one time and he skipped his break (admin time) to see me. The staffs are professional and courtesy. To support my claim, my daughter graduated from Pomona College California and Balor Medical school in Texas. She is is Specialist MD in Dermatology. read more

I arrived in Orange County in May 2010 on a new job posting. I was a bit scared about seeking a new doctor and dentists as I felt I had gotten good care in Santa Clara county. I decided to go about it in a methodical way, seeking suggestions from friends but also by checking out doctor's names as provided by my health insurance (Anthem Blue Cross). This was a great idea and was very helpful. From his website, Dr. Waldman said that he "cared for somebody's loved one." That is really true and is not mere Internet hyperbole. Dr. Waldman has a highly personal way of seeing how medicine should be practised and which should be respected, I believe. He puts his heart and soul into the way he runs his business and takes care of his patients, refers when necessary and is very professional. His staff is hand picked and includes several Registered Nurse Practitioners whom you can see if the problem does not involve consulting a doctor. He keeps on top of issues and in fact discovered that I had a vitamin B-12 deficiency which is a major health issue that had not been treated. When another problem came up he first treated me then referred me to a specialist. He regularly has interns from the UC Irvine Medical school. He has computerized electronic medical records. His staff including Mary, Yolanda, and the registered nurse practitioners are great. He keeps on top of my diabetes regularly. He is extremely honest and ethical and I am grateful for his care. I go to him in the HMO Greater Newport Physicians which also has access to Haig Hospital. He also accepts standard PPO insurance. read more

I saw Dr. Waldman for the first time last week since he is my new PCP for my HMO. He was great and spent time with me getting me the referrals I needed as well as discussing a medical issue. He has great bed side manners and I enjoyed going to him. read more

Dr. Waldman was my choice for PCP with Greater Newport Physicians (GNP) due to his strong CV. His nurse, Kelly & I, had strong words at one point but we resolved the issue and were fine. I needed a new doctor and a physical. Unbeknownst to me, the first visit was a "consultation" with a co-pay to be paid. Immediately following the consultation, Dr. W informed me that he was "switching to another group and would not be able to see me." Going from Greater Newport Physicians to Hoag Irvine Physicians group. I confirmed with Cigna and had to select a new doctor. I also requested my copay be refunded from Dr. Waldman since this was NOT disclosed until after the consultation & payment was made. I would have never selected Dr. Waldman as my primary had I known he would no longer be a part of GNP. Cigna contacted Dr. Waldman's office to request a refund of my co-pay and they refused to refund me. Now, barely a month later, I had to select a different PCP from GNP and will AGAIN need to pay a consultation fee and THEN schedule a physical. I believe Dr. Waldman's failure to disclose that he would be leaving Greater Newport Physicians to go to Irvine Physicians was unethical and downright sneaky. Clearly, Dr. Waldman was more concerned with the $$. Sad, because I do believe he is a very intelligent man but this means nothing if money supersedes all other concerns. read more

It took 20 minutes for my call to go through and when i got to the Front Desk, the woman I spoke too was both uninformed on how the doctor works with new patients and was rude. I guess this Doctor, who does get excellent reviews as a Doctor, is too busy and his supporting staff is poor quality. Unacceptable when you are dealing with your health and medical matters. read more

Dr. Michael Waldman has been more than a doctor to me. He has literally save my life! When I came to him I have been on pain meds from many many years, aside of that, I was on a variety of other medications that weren't good for me. I couldn't drive a car, I couldn't function as an adult, I had no memory and appeared to have what look like... Dementia. Having had family history of Parkinson's and Levy Body dementia and an early death of my father caused from both had lead my family to think I was on his same path. Simply put...I was lost! In March 2018 he got me into Hoag Hospital Newport Beach they helped me detox off of many of the medications and over the course of the last 22 months I have regained my life! I can drive a car, I can babysit my grandchildren safely, my memory has improved greatly but mostly I've learned a lot about myself. Dr. Waldman is an awesome doctor! He truly cares about his patients. I have been dealing with an issue for years and he is the only doctor that genuinely showed concern and got me the right tests and sent me to specialists to get me answers and peace of mind. I will always be grateful to him for that. His staff has always been amazing to me. They are very accommodating and so friendly. I was so sick today and they said to come right over. Dr. Waldman has been taking care of my 95 year old mother for many years. Every time we see him, I'm overwhelmed with his concern and the attention he gives her. She has a complicated medical history and he works through it to make sure she is doing as well as she can. He always takes the time to listen to what you are telling him. In this hi-tech world we now live in, he is up to speed and is actually ahead of the curve in keeping our medical records updated, and he always follows through on his promises.
