The front desk lady is fake and doesn't even pretend to be friendly if she doesn't know you. Some of the regulars she at least gave a veneer of friendly but if you have been in customer service for any number of years you can spot fake. I had to see an ER doctor after my first visit for something unrelated and they gave me a different pain med. Per the pain contract I had to let these people know and was told to not take it and on my next visit bring it in. The issue came when I ran out of the pain pill they gave me, I called with 3 to 4 days left of it and spoke to 3 or 4 people and got the run around. Basically told again not to take the pain med the ER gave me and they would see about a refill on the one they wanted me to take. By Friday I still didn't have an answer and they close at noon. I found out Monday they had sent it in but neither they nor the pharmacy let me know so I went Friday to Monday evening with no pain pills. I brought the pills to my follow up visit and they didn't even dispose of them which is why they asked me to bring them. The doctor now said if I ran out again I could take them and tell them which one works better!!!! Sadly I don't want to start all over and I like the doctor so for now I am sticking with them but if this continues I may not.

After filling out at least 10 forms, first in the office, then online, then again in the office I got one appointment. The office then canceled my second appointment and rescheduled, then canceled that one. When I came in at the re re scheduled time I found that they canceled all my appointments. Even though the place was practically empty they couldn't reschedule. This was so disappointing since both I and my partner have been coming here for 5 years but never again.

I got assigned a junior therapist if you can even call him that. Maybe he was a college intern? Was not professional at all. The session started off with" take a lap around the room " which he didn't watch my gait or pain. No he went and started helping someone on a machine. I was like why am I walking around a room? Very Strange. Then he asked me 4 questions. Pain level. When it hurts. How long. What I've been doing for it. (I've had this before). After 3 minutes wants to diagnose that it's an ankle problem. I said no it's not in my ankles. Then he says it's a tight back. I say no it isn't. He says it was for one other of his clients so it probably is for me. I try to tell him that I stretch my back and hips daily prior to weight lifting. I have a dance background and did mat Pilates and CrossFit for 15 years. I know stretching. I tried to show him the hip and back stretches that I do and he stopped me. He stood me up and did a calf stretch on a wedge. I told him I do this one several times a day. He asked how often I stretch in a day. I said I didn't know maybe 4? He said I needed to do 6-8. Whatever dude. You're grasping on things to say because you don't know. He never asked me my fitness level? What activities do I do in a day? How many miles I walk in a day? What my strength training schedule is? What my weight lifting lifts are that I do weekly? What shoes I wear? What stretches before or after training? How often I train? SO many other questions he could have asked but He then says maybe I should GO TO A PODIATRIST for a steroid shot. Kid you not!!! Within 4 minutes of being there was told to go to a different doctor for a steroid shot. Umm isn't that why I came to a physical therapist so I don't have to resort to something like that (which I am adamantly against). No F ING way would I ever get a steroid shot. Couldn't pay me. The owner is a smart guy. If you make an appointment here make sure it's with the owner and not a junior therapist that needs to go back to PT school.

Update 12/10/15: Had follow-up today. Dr. Rose confronted…read moreme about my previous review, refused to order an MRI (recommended by the 2 other doctors I saw in the interim), couldn't/wouldn't explain why he dx'd trigger finger in the first place when I recounted my symptoms both before and after surgery, and upon learning I had an ultrasound yesterday that showed no indicators of Dupuytren's Contracture, he suddenly changed his opinion of my post-op complication from a confident DC dx to a DC-like presentation. I don't doubt that he cares about fixing his patients, in theory at least, so it seemed reasonable to offer him a chance to be part of the solution. But the fact is, he doesn't have to live with the results--his work is pretty much done after surgery. So it's equally reasonable to expect my doctors to trust my experience with my own body and listen to me when I advocate for myself, preferably before any major decisions, but even after the fact would do. Sadly, for whatever reason, today Dr. Rose was more concerned about being "right" than doing the right thing. He declared ours an incompatible patient-doctor relationship and dismissed me from his practice. He did offer a list of other doctors, but at that point I just left. While I'm not surprised by the dismissal, after today's experience I must deduct another star from my original rating. Original review: Misdiagnosed me with trigger finger. Did the surgery for it while performing a couple of other procedures on the same wrist, which I found out later is NOT recommended. He had previously done those same wrist procedures on my other hand and I had no complications and healed well and quickly, so a couple of stars for that. However, the "trigger finger" was not fixed by his surgery (not to mention the wrist's healing was impeded & delayed; complications/limitations with the finger made some of the prescribed post-op physical therapies impossible for me). Not only was the problem not fixed, I now had additional problems that I'd never had until he cut my palm open. When I told him this at my first follow up, and explained the problems I was starting to have as I resumed normal activity, he admitted that it may not have been trigger finger and he might have done the wrong procedure. He told me to come back in a month, which I did yesterday. Now he says he doesn't remember admitting possible misdiagnosis because he would've put it in his notes, and says that I must have misheard him...I'm not stupid. I know what I heard. I remember it precisely because I was pleasantly surprised that ANY doctor would admit to making a mistake. (They are often arrogant and paranoid--both somewhat understandably, and I don't hold it against them IF they are doing their main job, healing, or at least not doing any harm.) When I brought up my concern that the adhesion--tissues healing together that aren't supposed to be attached--that had formed at the incision site might be causing the new problems, he said my words were "inflammatory" (an obscure medical joke maybe? But no). He insisted that the cause of my new problems was not a complication from surgery, but some genetic disease--one which I was already familiar with from researching my original finger problem, and I'm pretty sure I don't have it. But even if I do: a) What a stunning coincidence that it was completely dormant, surfacing only after this surgery! b) There's radiological testing, which he didn't bother to order, that could confirm the genetic disorder. And most of all, c) who cares about my words being inflammatory when my hand works worse than it did before? My health trumps your ego. End of story. Needless to say I'm seeking a second opinion and deeply regretting that I ever recommended him to a number of friends and acquaintances.

Apparently it was a rare form of tumor (benign), so it was good that he had me in the OR under anesthesia and he was able to remove and make repairs and stitch me up cleanly.

Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

He told me he would be my "quarterback" throughout the process but once I left the office, I never heard from him again. No follow-up. No care coordination. Nothing. I paid over $2,000 out of pocket for an epidural injection that provided by him with zero relief. When had a follow up with the PA, the only response I got from his PA was literally: "Sorry." That was the extent of their concern for my ongoing pain and care. Now their billing office is trying to charge me even more money despite the fact that my insurance out-of-pocket maximum has already been met. I've gotten no help resolving this, just more bills and more silence. This practice is disorganized, dismissive, and feels like a cash grab. Avoid them if you actually want competent, coordinated medical care or any follow-through at all.

After the sixth patient that had arrived after entered, I approached the front desk, gripping it tightly as a lower back pain courses over my body. I asked for a refund, asking if the appropriate approach was to arrive late. I rescheduled at another location with Dr. Kancherla. Dr. Kancherla had performed a prior cortisone injection, and i felt more comfortable with him from this, and from my prior experience at the northwest austin location. However, i was told that he would refuse to see me, as i had asked for a refund at the prior appointment. Dr. Kancherla may have done me a favor, as if he is careless enough to cast aside a patient still technically under his care, i shudder to think what he may forget when it comes to treatment. I should also note that his front desk staff attempted to charge me for a $1100 "balance" upon check in. Only after i insisted that they check did they grudgingly admit that they had confused me with another person.

I was referred to Dr. Saldanha from another Orthopedic Surgeon, because my knee was not getting…read morebetter. The referring physician was no longer doing knee replacements, so I made my appointment and sort of braced myself for the worst. Some doctors are brash, He was incredibly easy to talk to, he asked if I was OK with having PAs in the room, he looked at my X-rays, and did an exam. He was very kind when he said "Do you feel how this is moving?" (Oh, yes, I was aware!) "It's time." He didn't push, he wasn't unkind, or using a lot of jargon that went over my head; he listened to my questions and answered them with thoughtfulness and consideration. He explained why he used the Mako robotic arm to assist him in doing the least amount of damage to the interior of my leg, and that since he'd tried it, he'd never gone back. Personally, I like to know the "why" of a physician's decision. It took a few cancelled times to get into the hospital - completely not his fault. His office kept me up to date to the best of their ability, and when it finally came to be - well, it was a really dramatic difference. I can't really tell you about the surgery or the room it was done in, other than to saay I think there was a lot of white. I did have some issue with drainage for about 10 days and pain control the first two nights. For what all the surgery entailed, that's nothing. When I needed help with the drainage, I was squeezed in to figure out an alternative way of controlling the fluids. Then I was sent to a wound care specialist, not left on my own to try and mummy wrap my leg. That was in incredible held. Within a week - I felt comfortable walking my house without a walker. I could stand long enough to throw together something simple to eat. I was able to move around the house, and slowly work up to more of my normal tasks. I'm in Physical Therapy now, and Dr. Saldanha is happy with my range of motion. My scars are already fading, and I expect them to be almost invisible in a few months. When I ask questions, I get answers, not a pat on the head and a "Let me worry about that for you." If I needed to do this all over tomorrow - if the joint were to be recalled or something equally critical, so long as Dr. Saldanha was doing the surgery, I'd be on my way to the hospital tonight.

We had a very concerning experience with Dr. Vilas Saldanha (Texas Orthopedics), on-call at St…read more David's Round Rock Medical Center, during my 93-year-old mother's treatment after a fall. Dr. Saldanha did not directly communicate with my mother at any point during her hospitalization. He never greeted her or spoke to her, and all communication was directed to me, even though she was the patient. That set the tone for the entire experience. After a closed reduction, she was provided a shoulder immobilizer, but only the sling portion was applied. The abduction pillow component was not used or explained, and there was confusion among hospital staff and physical therapy about how the full device was meant to be used. As a result, she effectively wore only the sling for about three weeks, with no clear written instructions or proper guidance on its use. No physical therapy instructions were provided. Physical therapy later contacted Dr. Saldanha's office and was told she could begin weight-bearing exercises on the knee that had been described as having a "cracked patella." No PT was recommended for her shoulder. At follow-up, the physician assistant said the knee was "chipped," stopped the exercises, and asked whether a knee brace had been provided (it had not). He indicated a small stability brace could still be helpful. At the same visit, we were told her shoulder had become misaligned again. Shoulder replacement was briefly mentioned by the PA but immediately dismissed with the comment that "we wouldn't want her to not wake up from surgery." Despite the worsening alignment, the treatment plan remained unchanged, except that she could now "dangle her arm," and we were told to return in four weeks. We sought an immediate second opinion. That orthopedist found the shoulder was severely damaged with multiple fractures and required urgent reverse shoulder replacement with CT planning. We were also told the knee was already beyond the window for intervention. After a thorough evaluation, surgery was performed, and I'm happy to say she is now recovering well. The difference in evaluation, communication, and clarity between the two experiences was striking. In our experience, this was not appropriate care for a medically vulnerable elderly patient, and I would not recommend this physician for elderly patients or similar cases.
