Over the course of the last 3 years I can confidently tell you what an amazing man and hidden gem he is. A crisis in our country is the state of the healthcare industry and the toll it takes on providers. Providers can become so overworked or burnt out that they forget to see their patient as a person or have so little time that spending any extra time advocating can seem daunting. Dr. Gburek found me at the lowest point in my life. By simply listening to me, treating me like a human being, and advocating for me; he made all the difference in the world. He carefully made care plans based on my life goals like having children and factors such as my age to refer me to specialists. I had a unique case where I became medically handicapped in terms of medication. Steroids and NSAIDs cause me to develop stomach issues I had never even heard of. Stomach issues that caused me to be unable to eat regularly for nearly an entire year. I was wasting away to nothing while I waited for Cigna or any doctor to help me. I had lost 20 pounds unintentionally in 365 days. He tried to send me to specialists that could find an answer for my symptoms, but to my dismay, those specialists had no answer for me or even any ideas of how to help me. If you've ever been in that position you know how lonely and desolate it can be. It was traumatic To even be brought to that point I spent years of my life arguing with Cigna that my life mattered but, naturally, they only want to hear what the doctor thinks. Even if that doctor has not throughly completed an assessment, offered any treatments aside from medication, or been inappropriate with your care. Dr. Gburek is not one of those providers. He takes your health and goals seriously and will advocate to give you your life back. He is the only provider who advocated for me with Cigna over the last 3 years. My health struggles robbed me of my identity and I believed there was no hope. Dr. Gburek did not leave me with no hope and he did not leave me without solution. Instead, he fought for me and saved my life. By giving me a life with manageable pain, I am able to pick back up the pieces of who I used to be and who I want to become while continuing to help others as he helped me. I want providers like Dr. Gburek to know how important their care is so they don't lose sight of why they do this and continue to help people. I want patients to see this and know that there is hope for your case. He deserves all the praise and I am incredibly thankful for my healthcare hero. Experiencing a chronic health struggle can be dark but hopefully you can find someone like Dr. Gburek to turn on the light.

The injections were quick and smooth (not going to say painless because that would be lying) but if you can't have it a little pain, they have the option for a local and aesthetic. If you are dealing with back or hip pain or pain in general your body, I would highly recommend scheduling a visit through your doctor.

My research skills have also enabled me to scope out the best in their fields, which came in handy when I recently re-injured a herniated disc at L4-5 (which apparently is a more complex mess now than it was 25+ years ago when the snow skiing accident started it all), and I have lucked into a superb operation called the Greater Austin Pain Center. When Dr. Alan Silberberg walked into the consultation room, shook my hand, sat down and opened with, "I've studied your MRI images carefully, and you're in a real pickle here, buddy," I knew I'd met my doctor. He radiates intelligence the way my Dad did, and he's extremely blunt and direct and doesn't sugarcoat the facts--all the elements I need in a doctor for me to feel confident I'm in good hands. We've taken the approach of doing spinal epidurals (the same treatment that was very effective for me with the original injury), and I had my first session this week. I was face down on an operating table, so I can't visually describe what was done, but I can say that the needles weren't artlessly jammed into my lower back, they were slowly finessed into the damaged areas, and the steroid/pain killer mix was injected slowly and then with a more steady progression. The artful skill being utilized here was quite noticeable and greatly appreciated, and it clearly minimized the application pain (I chose no sedation). This doctor's impressive online CV most definitely matches his performance. Dr. Silberberg is surrounded by a top-notch staff of clinical professionals and front end office people, mostly an all-female crew. I've encountered nothing but friendly and polite helpfulness from everybody, both on the phone and in person. If they can maintain their level of excellence, friendliness and efficiency across the board, then I hope they corner the market here in Central Texas. My Dad often said, "The cream always rises to the top." Dr. Alan Silberberg and his crew have proven this to me. If you're a self-paying client like I am, this is the Go-To Team for you. They treat me great, and they've impressed me beyond words. I got lucky the day I found them.

I first entered St Davids Medical Center Down Town Austin Texas on about 6/11/2026 to ER at about…read more3:00 AM Was admitted to 4 East. I was found to have 2 lumbar Compression fxs. by cat-scan. The Hospitalist that first saw me on 4 east was extremely rude in her manner. I can take rude but she failed to referr me to an orthopedic doctor for my acute fractures. She failed to order a TLSO brace to prevent the progression of the compression fractures. Some doctor who I never met decided I needed Kyphoplasty surgery. However I was told I had to have a MRI to have the surgery. I am 325 lbs and too big for their MRI so I was denied surgery. I ask for a reasonable accomidation to have the MRI done at a outpatient facility that has a wide bore MRI Scanner. This request was denied by some supervisory woman who did not introduce herself. I was denied this ADA accommodation and I ask for discharge which was done without any followup help finding an MRI I could fit in. I purchased my own TLSO as I am a retired Physical Therapist hainge practiced at this hospital for about 12 years. t

Many from the Oakwood surgery center claimed to not know how to find this out. Until I talked to the older lady at the front. She knew a little about how you can request someone. I called and called and no one got back to me until the day before the surgery. But I did some research of my own and found the Austin Anesthiology Group supplied the Oakwood surgery center. I was most impressed by the backgrounds of doctors Orth, Eddings and Patel. Well at of these only Eddings was willing to make it. So the day of surgery I am in the hospital bed and I had a panic attack because the young nurse kept talking about complications like bleeding, blood vessel damage. Suddenly my blood pressure drops and I am covered in sweat. Just then Dr. Eddings comes in and I thank him for making it and he's like of course. He doesn't draw attention to my condition and just winks at my husband and says after we interview you i've got the good stuff in my pocket-that will make you not even care about any of this. I remember thinking that's impossible. Another impressing thing was that he remembered all of my prep interview that I filled out online and doubled checked with me about the important items. Then sure enough after I was given "the good stuff" I felt good enough to put all my trust in my doctors and announce that they would surely do their best and that I would see them later. I was put in the OR and the general "stuff" burned like hell. Dr. Eddings very professionally said, we will help you with that. What he meant was you'll be out in a few seconds but he chose to not draw attention to the fact that I would soon be under the knife but instead comforted me with what words he chose to use. Very, very skilled professional! He was also reasonable about the amount to pain meds and the type and made sure my husband got them to me exactly 5 hours after surgery. I've had surgery before and trust me-you NEVER want to feel ALL of that post surgery pain. I can't say enough about this doctor!!! I would trust him with my life and the life of my loved ones over and over! 8D

It was very depressing and I felt trapped in an old persons body. Dr Lowry helped ease my pain so I could LIVE again. Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

The only negative was that I could end up waiting for a really long time--almost an hour until I finally saw Dr. White for my post-op. I considered four stars for that reason but decided I didn't want people to see a lower rating and think it was due to Dr. White's skill. I was in the hospital from June 19th (Father's Day -0 until July 5th). I was being financially responsible. I had a health insurance policy with US Health / Freedom Life that was over $800 / month (not affordable!) However, once admitted with a life-threatening diagnosis of Chronic Systolic Heart Failure, I learned that my insurance was basically worthless. I seem to be one of the few patients who didn't have insurance issues, but my experience with Dr…read more Matthew B. Bourneuf was still incredibly difficult. During my first epidural attempt, I immediately felt sharp pain radiating from my spine through my right hip, down my leg, and into my foot. I repeatedly asked him to stop because something felt wrong, but he continued and told me, "You're just nervous -- I'm going to keep going." I began screaming from the pain. My husband and nurse both looked terrified. My nurse even said she'd never seen anything like it. My OB's attending ran in, thinking I was delivering, and demanded that he stop once she realized what was happening. Afterward, Dr. Matthew B. Bourneuf told me I was being "too emotional" and that he'd speak to me once I'd calmed down. When he returned later, he explained that "sometimes we just miss" and that it's "really just a guess where the right spot is." I waited until the next shift for a new anesthesiologist, Dr. Lee, who was calm, patient, and communicative. Despite being terrified from the earlier experience, he explained everything and successfully placed the epidural without issue. Dr. Jay was also kind and reassuring during this process. Five stars for Dr. Lee and Dr. Jay. Later, with confirmation from neurology and dermatology, I learned that the first attempt had gone through my hemangioma (a large, benign cluster of lymphatic tissue I've had since birth aka "a strawberry patch" that runs from my butt cheeks down to my right calf). That explains the excruciating pain -- it wasn't "just nerves." I don't expect medical providers to be my best friends, but I do expect to be listened to, to have my consent respected, and to be treated with empathy. This experience was traumatic, not because the epidural failed, but because of the way I was dismissed and spoken to. My nurse, Carrie, submitted an incident report at St. David's North Austin about what happened. I share this review not out of anger, but in hopes that no one else has to experience that same level of disregard and pain during one of life's most vulnerable moments.

I have all the documentation and names of customer service reps who said I have a zero balance and that no further action is needed on my end, yet here I am with a letter from a collection agency. What a joke of a business. Run immediately in the opposite direction of this place.
