This was the second time I bought and sold homes in Bay Area; however, by working with Mattie, I then realized what I had missed in the past..... During the selling, Mattie found something wrong with the foundation report which was carried over from the time when we bought it from a different agent. We lived for two years in that house; however, we didn't even know foundation of the home had a problem, as the initial agent didn't explain to us about the problems at all. It was Mattie who read the original report carefully and pointed it out to us when we intended to sell. She explained every term to us clearly and patiently, more over, she tried her very best to protect us legally and economically. To me, this caring quality really separated her from other agents out there. She did a lot of work to resolve the foundation problem. She talked to 3 foundation inspectors, showing them the report and let them estimate the costs. After that, she chose the most experienced local inspector to prepare the report who also offer a reasonable quote and then finally she helped to get the fee paid by the other side. Best part, she only had to concern us about the whole ordeal after she completely solved the problems first, she didn't want to disturb us or bring us any worries...... Comparably, other agents might have just left the problem up to the clients to fluster over themselves. Like all new immigrants, it was very important yet challenging for us to find a desirable home packed with everything we were looking for. Everything looked so foreign and unfamiliar to us here...... Buying a home in a completely new environment was a big decision; for a moment we felt we had been overwhelmed and even feeing lost. When looking for homes, convenience, safety, neighborhood, over all environment and even schools were almost equally important to us. Prior meeting Mattie, I had no idea what to expect and what to look for when buying a home, especially under this crazy seller's market environment.
