When I first moved here with my household, my partner mistakenly used an old checkbook to pay for our groceries, and it bounced. We promptly paid when we realized this happened, and we've been regular customers ever since, paying by cash and card. This past Wednesday my partner came in and attempted to pay by check again, not realizing there was now a ban in place on him using checks. We both think this is perfectly fine and reasonable, and we can continue to pay for our groceries by cash and card. It's an important policy to have in place--for ANY smaller business--and should be universally applied out of fairness to the customers. This is not why I am writing this review. The reason I am writing is because the cashier laughed in his face, and said "Are you f***ing kidding me?" which left my partner feeling demoralized and unwelcome, despite us regularly shopping here with no other incidents. I called on his behalf to apologize to the store manager, Ryan, for the bounced check from before since neither of us realized it was still an issue as we paid the balance when it happened, and as we have continued to support the store with our business. I wanted to give benefit of doubt, earnestly believing that management would not find this an acceptable way for their employees to treat their customers, regardless of payment method, and that my partner would be given an apology as well for the way he was spoken to. I was mistaken. Over the phone, Ryan told me he was on his way out and would "definitely" call back today, and after I gave him my number he abruptly hung up. I guess it was not that important for him to remember, because he failed to do so; and regardless, he could have simply apologized on behalf of his employee right then, in good faith assurance that they don't treat people this way. As it currently stands, no one from our household will be shopping here again; and there are 7 of us in a co-op. Maybe we will return someday, if they have a change of heart. read more

I find their prices to be high. The quality of meat is not prime and barely choice (I think it is cow and if you don't know the difference then you should check) I have tried the whole filet over and over. I go there if I can't get to other places and this is disappointing since they are close and I like to support local business. Nice people so it's not that I don't like them because I do. This grocery store is owned by the nicest people! Every staff member I have had contact with treats me like family! The woman who makes the deli food makes the ABSOLUTE BEST stuffed onions, Grape Leaves, hummus etc. Absolutely true Middle Eastern food made with love! got stuck on summit st durring the snow storm last night and had to leave my truck in the parking lot. the owner or affiliate then proceeded to deliberate box my truck in with snow. upon discovering the situation, the owner began to tell me I was burdening his parking space with my vehicle and that I should have asked and that I'm lucky he didn't have it towed! disrespectful and arrogant and as far as plowing snow, completely incompetent. read more

We have shopped for all of our groceries at this store since we moved to Commerce Twp. back in 1997. We are so grateful for this store. We are always so satisfied. My husband loves the meat department. He wound up buying a freezer to package the large amounts he buys! The deli is great also. I love the staff. You are always met with a pleasant greeting and many offers to help. I am also doing my mom's grocery shopping now due to the covid virus. She is always excited to see what I have brought her. I've been here a bunch of times. It's called Matti's Fresh Market now. I've told Yelp. I've pointed Yelp staff to the web page that says "Formerly Milford Grocery". For some reason, they revert the change, and lock out future changes. It's weird, but not as weird as actually shopping here. Since transitioning from Milford Grocery, some sections have been made-over (beer / wine, produce), and are pretty nice. Not-nice, though, is that you now need to watch expiration dates like a hawk. They had cases upon cases of ketchup on sale for a pretty good price, but on further inspection, all of them were less than a month from their sell-by date. And in the frozen section, they had some items on clearance that were well beyond their sell-by dates. read more

Fantastic market, they always are very attentive with great service. Their meat is a much better cut that the local Kroger and you can actually get an intelligent response from the employees when asking about specific products. Their daily specials are phenomenal (I got a 5 lb pork serlion roast for $4.97!) The food is always fantastic, I smoked up one of the pork tenderloins they had on sale a couple weeks ago, the gf agreed, best we've ever had. If you are looking for a place with great selection and prices that rival Kroger, without the ridiculous crowds and below average staff, shop here. Btw you can get full slabs of meat cut to order! I went to Milford Grocery on Friday, July 31, 2015 for a few things. It was my first visit since I live approx 30 miles away & I was visiting friends in town. The man working the meat counter was fantastic! The steak (what I went into the store to buy) was sold out. He cut more just for me. I bought out the ground sirloin at his request, and he adjusted the price down because I bought 2# more than I needed. I believe he went above and beyond. However, that is where my positive experience ends. I bought a carton of orange sherbet in a plastic bowl. The clerk failed to check it & when I got home, the top was completely off & melted sherbet was all over my back seat & everything else in the bag she packed with it. I also purchased a lb of ground bologna sandwich spread. I made a sandwich a few days later only to find a long dark hair in the meat. I don't believe I will be returning! read more

Much better than shopping a Kroger and they deliver!!! Delivery charge is very reasonable. The staff is friendly and polite and everyone is willing to help they are friendly. Pricing is OK. I go here whenever I can. read more
