And fries I must say, the branzino and twice baked potato were both outstanding. Best seafood dish I've had in quite a while. The potato was excellent as well. I will go back and order again! My son's burger was good, but a little wet with grease. He didn't love their fries, hot and crispy, but didn't love the flavor. Arrived to our reservation early so we checked out the market. I was impressed with the amount of vegetarian/vegan prepared foods. They have a unique selection of items. Prices are reasonable. The food was okay - we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, walleye with broccolini, and white fish with asparagus plus a side of mushroom risotto. The dip was good but the chips are too thick. The risotto was bland and the broccolini was mushy and overcooked. Service was noticeably slow--we had to ask for silverware and refills ourselves. Food is good quality and you'll find brands you wouldn't find in a traditional grocery store. Beware though, prices are on the high side (but then again, aren't they high just about everywhere these days?) The counter service has been excellent each time I've stopped by and the overall ambiance is that of a high-end market. It's not somewhere I go regularly, but when I do, I pick up a few fresh produce items and a few healthy snacks. I deducted one star because of the overall size and prices. If you're going to spend this kind of money and have a large high end store near you, you'll find more choices. This place is fairly small. read more

Zerbos is consistently excellent. I love both the restaurant and the market. My favorite appetizer/side is the cauliflower pita chips. They are amazing and I have yet to share them with anyone who didn't love them. Today, I ordered the lamb chops cooked medium with a side of butternut squash risotto. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked and well seasoned, and the risotto was just as delicious, with a hint of basil that took it to the next level. Love the brisket sandwich! I was unnecessarily worried that it might be desert dry - nope. It is juicy and explodes with terrific flavors. The bun is another delight. Not the usual white bread bun. Rather this was a bakery item that added great flavor and texture. The side of horseradish sauce is a miss. Too mild. How mild? Ohio mild. The vegetable soup (special) is also tasty and includes many veggies that I did not expect - kale, lentils, asparagus ... and a lot more. Served hot! Just what I wanted on a cold day. Zerbo's is roughly half restaurant and half high-end grocery store. This review is for the restaurant! First, make reservations on the weekend. Even with a 6:15 booking we still had to wait about 5 minutes for our table to be ready. The dining area is quite large with two levels. Big restaurants can sometimes be extra noisy, but here the sound stayed manageable even when the live music started on the second floor. The tree sculpture is really cool, but I didn't love the overly tinted light for a restaurant setting. The drinks menu is extensive and includes a great selection of seasonal options. I had the Fig & Fizz which comes in a mule mug and was very tasty and refreshing with a nice zing of ginger. We got spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer, which was piping hot and perfectly balanced. The fresh tortilla chips are very good though a bit thick. For an entree, I ordered the lamb ragu with fresh fettuccine. The sauce had a distinct hit of allspice I think, which I enjoyed but another person at the table tried it and did not like it at all. So keep that in mind, it might be polarizing! I have to say the portions were a lot larger than I expected based on other reviews and photos. I am perplexed by this Bistro and the quality of the food. Since it is part of Zerbo's, we assumed there would be organic offerings on the menu. NOT EVEN ONE! Why in the world would any restaurant think it's okay to feed their patrons "fresh" produce (another term for sprayed with pesticides and not organic)? I get it, most people don't ask about these things either because they don't care or they just assume they're at Zerbo's and it must be healthy. If you don't already know, pesticides like glyphosate are a big reason people walk around with leaky gut. Those chemicals destroy our gut microbiome which is the beginning place for ultimate health throughout our bodies. To be clear, I love Zerbo's. I've been going to the Plymouth Rd. location for as long as it has been in business. I just assumed that they would create their restaurant with the same high standards they have held for all these years. This is not the case. My date and I were disappointed beyond belief. He wanted to take me somewhere super healthy since that's what I am accustomed to. I've lived in California for 34 years and everywhere I go there are places that cater to my healthy lifestyle. It is one of the reasons I moved away all those years ago. Sometimes it's fun to eat fried food but I have set higher standards for those as well. They use an 80/20 oil blend to saute' their Asparagus and Broccolini. Anything with soybean oil in it is unfit for our consumption since it is one of the most genetically modified crops. Not good. The oil they use in their fryer is entirely soybean oil. These oils are highly inflammatory and are detrimental and do nothing for our health. More of you Michiganders need to speak up and ask for what you deserve! The highlight of our night out was our server, Victoria. She is a true professional. She deserves the employee of the year in dealing with me, I admit it! I'm pleasant but I ask all the questions because I have had chronic health problems in the past. Food has healed me but it is because of my assertive action to protect my body from the harm that is lurking in our food choices. Attended a Women's Owned Business fair at the event space above the bistro. There's a lot of parking so it was easy to find my way. The space is very rustic, cozy, and inviting. I visited the market after the event and there are a lot of Michigan owned brands promoted as well as very unique gifts. First time here. (Cantoros is my normal go to) while I'll say the ambiance is nice and waitress was amazing . Food was good. However with that being said I feel like the prices are a bit steep. I ordered rice balls for an app and the salmon with sticky rice. I asked to substitute for mashed potato's. We have now been to Zerbo's several times and we've never been disappointed. Both the menu and the beer list are sure to have something for every taste and the servers have always been attentive to my (vegan) wife's special requests. So far, I've had the Branzino, the Walleye, and the Lamb Ragu. I don't recall all of my wife's choices but she really liked the Cauliflower Steak and the Vegan Burger. The lighting is nice to look at but very dim. Also it seems you have to make a reservation though not many people were seated when we arrived and the host still had to check wich was odd. My party did not like the dim lighting in the area they wanted to seat us so we had to switch, besides that it was a good experience. The server was nice and the food was really good. If I could give a 0 stars I would. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We sat down at 5:50. Order take 6:05. We ordered all the food at once and asked the server to just give a break between appetizers/kids meals and adult entrees. The appetizers kids meals did not arrive til 6:52. To be clear this consisted of two buttered noodles, a salad, and artichoke dip. 52 minutes... As we are finishing appetizers, so a whole 1 hour and 10 min after we sat down, the waiter comes back to let us know the they're out of time of our entrees that we again ordered over an hour ago. At this point, we asked to speak to a manager. He was completely unbothered by the situation. After that we never saw him again. Then we wait another 30 minutes to get our entrees. Of the 5 entrees, 2 of them were wrong. A meal that was supposed to take 1 hour took 2 hours. Never going back to this place again and unless you want to be waiting hours for the wrong meal, I'm not sure why anyone would want to be here. read more

Everyone is very friendly from the hostess to the bartender and servers. Very helpful with choices and recommendations. We had the calamari and beet salads to start. The beet salad had great flavor the dressing snd goat cheese were so flavorful and mixed so well together. The calamari came with two sauces a lemon dill aioli and a marinara. It was good the dill sauce was great. I of course had the branzino the mint garlic gremolata was delicious the skin was so crispy and fingerling potatoes were amazing along with the corn too. The scallops and wild mushroom risotto was great. The lobster with the cheese pasta was on the heavy side but still delicious. The shrimp Alfredo was amazing and a lot of it. The bread pudding dessert was so flavorful you can taste the pudding and apples and cinnamon the vanilla ice cream was so good you can see the vanilla beans in it. Fantastic dinner. Was there for an event in the upstairs event space and decided to grab dinner as well as pick up a few items in the market. Wow! We were told it would be about a 25 minute wait but our table was ready in 10. I'm not vegan but ordered the cauliflower steak and hubby got the NY strip. Great dishes! I did not miss the meat at all and his steak was cooked perfectly! Good drinks, house Pinot noir was tasty (glass could've been cleaner). Service was friendly and fast. I have been to Zerbo's several times, but this was the first time for an food event upstairs. It was perfect, the chicken piccata was excellent and the service was great. I would definitely consider Zerbo's for a private event or just regular dining. read more

We made reservations for Valentine's Day and were so happy they sat us when we arrived a little early. Our server, Alex, was such a great waiter. He was very helpful with narrowing down which dish to get, attentive, and checked in throughout the meal. For our dishes, we got the steak bites to start- which was a perfect appetizer, parmesan crusted whitefish with asparagus and the cioppino (mix of different seafood in a tomate sauce). Both entrees were huge and delicious. We ended the night with the 3 layer carrort cake with vanilla ice cream on the side. I'm not a huge fan of carrot cake but this is by far the best. This restaurant will definitely be in our list of must go places for special occasions. The restaurant also offers live music a few nights a week... perfect ambiance for date nights. read more

Last night my family and I dined at this restaurant, a place we've frequented often -- including renting one of their private rooms this past winter for an anniversary celebration. We've always enjoyed our experiences, which makes what happened last night even more disappointing. Unfortunately, when the food runner brought out our meals, an entire full ramekin of chipotle aioli somehow slipped and splattered everywhere. And when I say everywhere, I truly mean everywhere -- across my face, into my hair, all over my shirt and lap, onto the booth seat, and even the wall beside me. I was completely covered from head to toe in oily, creamy sauce. I fully understand that accidents happen. Having worked in the service industry myself for over two decades, I know firsthand that spills and mishaps are sometimes unavoidable. I also believe I handled the situation calmly and graciously, despite being unexpectedly doused in sauce right before I was about to eat dinner. To their credit, our server, Michael responded quickly by bringing plenty of wet and dry towels along with a glass of soda water to help prevent the oil from setting into my clothing. The manager did stop by the table, provided his card, and asked that I forward my dry-cleaning bill. At the end of the evening, the server informed us that my meal had been removed from the check. While I appreciate those efforts, after having time to reflect on the situation, I am honestly a bit dumbfounded that more wasn't done given the extent of what occurred. This wasn't a small spill on the table -- it was a full-body incident that left me uncomfortable, messy, and self-conscious for the remainder of the evening. Based on my years in hospitality, I know many managers who would have taken additional steps to make a guest feel fully cared for in a situation like this. I want to be clear that I am not looking for a free meal or compensation. However, as loyal customers who continue to support this establishment, I expected a more comprehensive response. I share this feedback not out of anger, but out of genuine disappointment, in hopes that future situations -- should they arise -- are handled with a bit more attentiveness and hospitality. read more

I frequently shop at Zerbo's Market, so I decided to try out their bistro... it was literally some of the worst food I have ever had at a restaurant. Arancini had no flavor. Flatbread was soggy with too much balsamic vinegar all over it. The chicken in the wrap was either overdone or not done enough. It had this weird bite to it. The two alcoholic drinks we had were 3/4 filled bc the bartender didn't know how to measure properly. The ambiance was nice enough but it couldn't save the quality of food. read more
