I purchased my mattress the end of November and called in my complaint yesterday. I was told the mattress was only guaranteed fro 4 months. I was not given any information about that at the time of purchase. I was referred to the visit the headquarters on line. That proved an impossible task requiring me to remove and photograph my mattress, box spring and frame. There were no inspectors available in my area to pay to inspect it. I feel I wasnot treated fairly or in a business like manner. I only asked for a credit to replace a faulty mattress and buy a better one. read more

Before I forget, there are 4 major chains, and 2 have the same owner, the other 2 have a common owner as well. I just forget which 2 belong together and which other 2 belong together. But the chains are: Mattress Discounters, Bed Mart, Sleep Country & America's mattresses. Being they sell the same stuff, it's appears to be a marketing gimmick. I went in tonight. The young salesgirl only spoke with me once, never came back, after waiting and waiting, I walked past her, with a look of "I have questions!" Apparently she assumed the couple with the children she was helping had more to offer and spent all her time with them. They too were dressed down like me. I guess when all else is equal go with what may be a 2 income household? But....but...I have excellent credit :) Hey, I have a novel idea! Why not treat every customer the same? Let's try that! Eventually I had to go, she saw me going to the door, did nothing, said nothing. Too bad because there was one closeout mattress I was interested in. At least she didn't ask what I do for a living (you know, because she ignored me), it's annoying how the other stores all did (bedmart, sleep country, american mattresses). And if you don't answer, they make sure to ask again. Is this what it's like to shop for a car at a dealership!??! Being judged or ignored? Yuck. Overall, for a place that calls themselves "Mattress Discounters," their prices are either comparable or higher for the same mattress elsewhere, & selection for memory foam than others. Their closeouts seemed almost non existent. But had it not been for the service, I wouldn't have bothered writing this review. Don't buy a mattress from mattress firm . We spent $1700 on a king bed and it only lasted 2 years and is sagging and our backs are killing us . The warranty process is super long and tedious and our claim got denied anyway. I am never buying a mattress from this company again read more

My sales guy was quick to greet me, and the sales process was pretty easy and low pressure. Of course we had a good idea of what we wanted so it didnt take a lot of work on his part. We got the mattress, a Serta iComfort Genius, along with the adustable base, we spent just under $3000, it was delivered and set up and all was well. My wife then had an allergic reaction to the mattress. Being that we had a two month old baby sleeping with us this caused great concern, I did not want his breathing affected the way my wife's was. We were under the impression that we could pay a 10% restock fee and return the thing within 60 days due to the fact that it says 60 day sleep guarantee all over the store, and we asked about that and our salesman agreed. This was the only reason we bought the mattress, we knew at that time there was nothing else the store carried that we would want. I called to return the mattress, willing to take almost three hundred dollars in losses to return the mattress, which is, to this day two months later, still wrapped in plastic. I was told it is an exchange policy, all sales are final. I explained to the manager of the store that we were not told that, he directed me to look at my invoice, where it does indeed state this fact. The only problem being that you dont get the invoice until AFTER the purchase is done and there is nothing clearly displaying this fact in the store. Manager was no help, reached out to district manager through Facebook, had the manager call and tell me the same thing, exchange only. Reached out to customer service, same thing. Filed a dispute with GE Money, Mattress discounters simply told GE Money what their policy is, and GE Money ruled in favor of the store. I am now stuck with a mattress that I cannot use, that cost me $3000. I was mislead and no one even acklowledges this fact. Anyway, if your interested, I have a mattress for sale, you will likely get better customer service from me than from them. I guess in the end joke's on them, i just bought a house and need two beds for guest rooms, guess where I WON'T be buying from. read more

Don't go there and be fooled by their helpfulness. I was talked into a box spring I did not need. The salesperson then talked me into exchanging this for a platform, which I also did not need. It was not explained to me that I would not be able to exchange this and they boast about their 100 day return policy, which if you read the fine print, turns into a one time only policy. So when or if you go in, I suggest speaking with Erin Lund. I bought a bed there a few years ago and have been battling with doing a warranty exchange for the past few months. Even after I got an inspector to check out my bed and wrote the report that it was defective and needed to be replaced, the warranty department was still having an issue with it. Really wanted to write a review for their new location where we bought our new queen split box springs. This location is at8804 SW Hall Blvd. in portland. We had looked at one of their competitors nearby where we seemed to be invisible, finally when the two employees on the floor ended their private conversation to acknowledge us, there was visible disappointment that we weren't shopping for a new bed. We moved into a house with a narrow stairway and the movers could not get our queen box spings up them. They suggested that we purchase a queen split box spring to replace the one we had. So back to the Mattress Discounter competitor.....we were told that split box springs weren't being made anymore! We could order a custom set; very $$$$. We left there and saw the Hall Blvd store. We were immediately warmly greeted by Lindsay who not only told us that split box springs were definitely still being made, but we also had several brand and price choices! Obviously this good news was a huge relief, but Lindsay's knowledge, upbeat personality and professional completion of payment and delivery time were all contributors to this being such a good experience. When we are ready to replace our bed, this is where we will go! And if Lindsay is not there, we will hope she has trained the staff in customer service! read more

We walked in early this afternoon, our first stop on a new quest to get a mattress. No one was in the store at the time, which was very helpful. We quickly found out how much attention we needed to make a good decision, and had a lot of questions. We came in with a set budget - which honestly leaves no room for a good mattress selection. Still, Ryan was an amazing salesman -- he started us out by asking questions: what kind of bed do we have now, what is our price range, how do we sleep, what kind of pain are we in after sleeping, etc. Then, he asked us to lay on several beds around the store, making mental note of how we responded. It was very helpful to dissect the reasons we need a new mattress, why the prices are the way they are, and narrow down exactly what type and firmness of mattress would work best for us. Ultimately, he helped us learn a lot, and wasn't concerned that we had to leave without a sale. When you're thinking about a purchase for something you spend a third of your life on, it's worth it to get it right and think about how much per year you'll be spending on making the quality of your life better by sleeping better. When we do go back, Ryan will be awesome at getting us exactly what we need, and I'm sure it will still be a great price. p.s. - I don't think any other store in town has 120 day money back guarantee on foam mattresses.
