Amazing staff!! Jimmy greeted us at the door right when we walked in and was super easy to talk to the entire time. He was very knowledgable about everything in the store. He helped my boyfriend and I find the perfect mattress for us, along with an adjustable base that dramatically changed our thinking on what it's like to lay in a bed. Never once did my boyfriend or I feel pressured into buying anything we weren't sure on, nor feeling like we were rushed to make a decision right then and there. Worse Customer Service at this Location EVER I went into this Mattress firm location after shopping around all day for a mattress. I wanted to try it out because i always see commercials and figured they would help me find a comfortable, affordable mattress. There were two salesman. The first one slightly greeted me (i think it's because i was a black woman whom they thought didn't have money) i digress, the guy never asked what i was looking for. He was making small talk about the weather. Then i had to finally say what kind of mattress i wanted. He then showed me the different color types of mattresses based on its feel. As i tried the different ones out with my family there, He left us to go help other customers. Then the other salesman who was an older guy, by the name of John, hesitatingly walked up to my mom assuming she wanted a mattress & asked her if she needed help. Once she told him "No I'm not looking, my daughter is looking for a mattress" you can tell he didn't want to help me. He then gave me the option that if he ran my credit, i can have an understanding of how much spend i have. He said it would take 5 mins to run. He got my information and was on and off hold with the creditors for about 30 mins. By this time I'm trying to understand what's the hold up. He finally tells me how much we have to work with. I think he was surprised at how much my credit was allowing me to spend. Just because i had a limit, didn't mean i wanted to spend the whole amount because I already was looking at different places prior to walking in the door. I already had the amount and mattress i was willing to pay somewhere else. I wanted to see what deal i would get and the type of customer service i would receive as a black young adult. As he kept showing me mattresses, i told him about the very first mattress i tried out when i walked in the door. He talked down to me as if i was ignorant saying "Ma'am that's the Cadillac type of mattress that you can't Afford" I instantly took note of these insults and kept it noted during this sales process. He finally wanted me to spend all of my credit limit plus come out of pocket with more money over $200. I politely declined and told him "i appreciate his help and will weigh my options. If i want to come back, i know which one i will get. For right now, I've seen all i wanted" You can tell he didn't like that, he kept saying "Where else can you find this deal!? No money down, no interest, etc" then i told him again "I have options" he then went to panic mode and wanted me to lay down and do some Kill Bill moves on the mattress. He was trying to test me out on mattresses for pressure and pain points. I told him "John do you have ANY other mattresses here that are cheaper but have a similar feel?" He told me "No, this is it" As I declined again, he then was persistent and escorted me to the back to the $799 mattresses. In my mind, i was already done with him when he insulted my financial status about the $4500 "Cadillac" mattress. However, i wanted to see what other options he had. Once he took me to the back, i called him out and said "John i thought you didn't have any other options in my price range" he then said "Well i wanted to make sure they were in your comfort zone" LIESSSSS!!! those $799 mattresses felt just as comfortable as the $4500 mattresses. By this time, i was REALLY done. He got agitated and told me "Have you seen our reviews online? We have the best mattresses that Ashley's would never sell to you!" I said "John, I'm going to leave and if i want to purchase here, i may come back but I've seen all i needed to see" then he started screaming and saying "This is how i make a living!" I said "John, I'm a salesperson too, so again, I've made my decision" then he says "Where do you work!!!!? Do you work for another Mattress place!!!" I then told him "That's none of your business! I will leave and you can have your Cadillac!!!" He was pissed and i walked out. Whoever is reading this DONT EVER GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! As a salesperson myself i get they are trying to make a sale but they are hustlemen and don't care about your "Comfort" if you see an older man name JOHN who looks like he can be Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Daddy, run out! Since he said "Have you seen our reviews!?" I figured i would do him a favor and just write one Worse customer service ever! I got a way better deal up the street at ROOMS TO GO!!! read more

Overall a great experience. Shopping for mattress is stressful and never fun. The staff was helpful answering questions yet far from overbearing giving you room to make your own decision. We got a great deal on a new queen mattress set with a free waterproof mattress cover. We went with a foam top for a longer life. They'll be our first stop for the next mattress we get. My parents and I went to this location to look for a mattress for my dad. As soon as we walked in, a man was right in our faces. We never asked for help. All we wanted to do was browse and get an idea of the price. The man said one mattress would be perfect for my dad, but it was $4500. That was out of our budget and this place didn't have the right price. I don't know how anyone can afford this place. read more

Shopping for Mattresses is something I am really not fond of. The Sales People at this location stood out against every other location for mattresses I went or have been. They were very Knowledgeable and Really took the time to Fit ME and my Wife to a Mattress to find the right one. We could not be happier. We have had it several months and are getting the best sleep we have ever had. However, the best part of the whole process is they really did have the lowest price. Most of the places I went told me they had the lowest price, but to beat the competitor they would show me a lower quality mattress and tell me it was the same thing I was looking at somewhere else. Mattress Firm did not do this. I have been in several times to get pillows and sheets and every sales person We have dealt with has provided the BEST Service and options at the Best prices. So far we have worked with Rob, Sarah, and Alex. If you need a new mattress or pillows I can ONLY suggest this Mattress Firm store - they will be getting all of my families business from here on out. read more

My mother is elderly and was having trouble with her legs and back which she & her doctor attributed to her mattress, so we went in search of a new bed set. Since she's on a fixed budget, I was wary of sleazy salespersons taking advantage of a senior citizen. With this mindset, I accompanied her to Mattress Firm on the IH-35 frontage in Selma/San Antonio, TX. What a relief and pleasant surprise to find someone like Adam on duty! Not only did he patiently explain all the mattress options to my mother, he also diligently researched and answered all my questions on financing and payment options for her limited budget. He even called headquarters and put them on speaker phone to explain to me what would happen to her old mattress as I am obnoxiously environmentally conscious! To cap it all off, when he learned my mother's birthday was the next day, he waived the delivery fee as an early b'day present so as not to stress her already fixed budget. Who does that?! Adam is a customer service treasure offering a personal touch not often found in today's microwave take-it-and-like-it society. We--me, my family and anyone I find in the market for a mattress--will be back. The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because Adam was working all alone that day. He often had to apologize to us, stop, and handle a phone call or another customer. No slight on him as he did it all brilliantly; but come on, Mattress Firm, help your stellar employees be even better with adequate staffing. read more
