I call them and they are very rude especially mike there, and he says there is no way for them to contact the drivers. He says he will call dispatch and call me. Oh my God, Kamicka at Mattress Firm is my new best friend, she thinks I am SO funny. But honestly, it is she that made my day. Two days, really, because I went there twice this week. I stopped in earlier this week because my back is killing me and I wanted to test out some mattresses. Kamicka was so much fun, we just chit-chatted about the virtues and drawbacks of each unique mattress style. As an aside, I am moving to a new apartment, so I've decided that my old mattress needs to go in the trash, taking all of the bad vibes it has accumulated over the course of its tenure here with it. That thing is a graveyard, and I will be happy to see it go. I went back in today to pull the trigger on a new mattress, and boy was I glad to see Kamicka working today. She was reclining on one of the mattresses so I said "what are you doing, testing the product?" which got a big laugh. Earlier this morning, I woke up on my horrific old mattress and read like thirty stressful professional emails or text messages requiring immediate decision-making by me, if you can believe that, so then the only thing to do was blow a few thou on this new mattress in order to relieve stress. It's such a funny mattress, it like bends, so I can sit up and read a book or watch TV, which I never do, I don't care for it. The mattress also massages you, which Kamicka was quick to point out, does not make me elderly, but has more to do with my lifestyle. I don't know what she's referring to, exactly, but I appreciate her enthusiasms nevertheless. I love Kamicka. I picked out a firm mattress with a remote control for controlling the bending option for geriatric people that want to read in bed (so funny). It's top of the line, but Kamicka was like, "we're having a Black Friday sale" so then she shaved several hundred dollars off the ticket price, oh how we laughed. Next, she ran over some details about... I don't know, some kind of warranty and asked if I wanted to take out an insurance policy on my mattress. I told her, "I've never heard of such a thing," so we started talking about something else instead. I don't remember what, but it could have been about contracting a delivery service to bring the bed to my new apartment, for a fee (everything costs so much money, it's ridiculous), but then I was like, "I want the movers to put the bedbug mattress cover over the mattress for me when they're delivering my bed, I don't like doing that." Kamicka was like "no problem!" and then we laughed some more. I love this store so much, I wish I needed more mattresses. read more

We purchased a queen size purple bed a couple weeks ago. We love the mattress and it's comfort. We love it so much we wanted to upgrade to a king sized purple bed and wanted to pay the difference. We were told that our bed frame is non-exchangeable and can't be changed to a king sized. Only the mattress. We were told "you signed papers for it, and were told this ". I get that completely. However, If I'm going to spend more money with the company and potentially refer new business I don't see why we can't go above and beyond here. I'm not returning because I don't like it. It's because I do and wanted to spend MORE money. But this will be the first and last time I purchase products with this company. I will not be referring people here at all!!! Emily at this Sleepy's location was really top-notch. She spent over an hour with my wife and I searching through Sleepy's tri-state area inventory for end-of-the-year deals until finally she managed to find the perfect mattress... and the exact delivery window we needed. Part of this time was actually on a day she wasn't even working! -- that's right, on her day off she continued to correspond with us about getting the best deal. I definitely recommend working with Emily. The only reason why this review isn't 5 stars was because the delivery guy, after setting up the mattress, bundled all the plastic and cardboard into a big twisted mass and dropped it on our doorstep on his way out. within 2 minutes the wind blew the whole thing apart and I had to chase down and collect giant reams of plastic from all over our street. that wasn't chill. read more

My wife and I have really had a terrific sales experience with Sleepys. She had purchased her Simmons mattress 4 years ago from a Sleepy's in Manhattan which we kept when we moved in together. Unfortunately it was a bit saggy in the middle and we weren't getting a good nights sleep so we decided to replace. Sleepy's in Greenpoint was very convenient for us so we headed over. The initial sales experience was fine. Grace (our salesperson) was friendly and knowledgeable and not pushy at all. We picked out a Stearns and Foster. During the course of the sale, Grace asked us what was wrong with our existing mattress and we told her of the sagging. After she learned that we had bought it from a Sleepy's, she told us about their 10 year warranty. She counseled us to wait to buy our mattress and see if we could get at least a partial discount. We called Sleepy's customer service to set up a bed inspection and were extremely happy to learn that Sleepy's was going to give us full credit to buy our new mattress. Grace took the time and saved us a ton of money. Unfortunately the mattress we picked turned out to be way too firm, but our love this store only grew when both Grace and her weekend cohort Stuart were really committed to getting us the right mattress using Sleepy's 3 week comfort guarantee. Our new mattress is on the way. This really is one of the best sales experiences I've had, and these guys are super committed to your satisfaction. Very strong recommend. read more

My boyfriend and I needed to buy a bed, amongst other things, in the three days I was in town over the weekend and since Sleepy's was down the street, of course we decided to go there first. The store was completely empty so we had the full attention of the sales lady. She had us lie on a test bed to diagnose what sort of mattress we needed and had us try out a variety before we found one we both liked a lot. She offered us next day delivery and even a bit of a deal, which was great since the mattress was already on sale. The delivery guys came early in their four-hour delivery window, but unfortunately, couldn't get the box spring around the corner to fit into the apartment! I went back to the store to see the same lady in a still empty store, and she set me up with a split box spring that will fit for only a $70 fee to have it delivered again. Nothing totally amazing about this experience, but I enjoyed the service and the attitude to try and help us out in any way the salesperson could. The 20 year guarantee on the bed isn't too shabby either. read more

In New York you come to expect the worst possible experience shopping and purchasing anything... No accommodations, no help, no patience, etc. I expected a shit show with the process of selecting and receiving a mattress, but every aspect of my experience with Sleepy's Greenpoint has been extremely positive. The saleswoman, Ivory, took me through a comfort test in the store. She was not pushy or overbearing. They were happy to reschedule my delivery when I needed to. They had an issue with their truck breaking down and couldn't deliver, but rescheduled for the soonest window afterwards, and chopped the cost of an accessory off my receipt. Delivery was ridiculously fast and efficient. Overall I SO recommend working with this company and this store's team in particular. I could not be happier with my experience. read more

I guess 2.5 stars would be more accurate. Customer service was OK, but very scripted. Prices are high (hey, someone has to pay for that fancy jingle and all of the ad time), and I kind of felt like I was buying a car with their negotiating style. In the end, the salesperson gave us a fair price for a mattress that we later read some not-so-good reviews on (kingsdown), so we passed on the purchase. We ended up buying from a new place that just opened up on Meeker (near Leonard st). The guy that runs it is a local guy, lived in the neighborhood for years. He gave us a very good deal and was friendly to deal with. read more

Terrible. First they told us we had to buy a mattress cover in order to get the mattress insurance but did not tell us we had any choice in the matter. After sleeping on the bed one night and sweating the whole way through, I called to ask about it and discovered they had sold me an expensive (and HORRIBLE) cover when I could have had a cheaper cotton one. When I brought it back to exchange it, they would not take it because I did not have the original plastic bag it came in -well that is because their delivery guys put the mattress cover on for us and took the trash away. Positives: The people in the store were helpful and attentive, and helped me find a good mattress. Negatives: There was a sleazy vibe about the way the person (Stuart) was trying to make the sale. First, despite the fact that I went in and said specifically that I was on a budget, he did not start out by showing me the cheapest mattresses in the store. Instead, he directed me toward a fairly expensive mattress and then kept going down in price as I expressed doubts. He was clearly trying to make the cheaper mattresses seem poor by comparison, and trying to take me for every cent I was willing to pay. Then, when I'd decided on a bed, he immediately launched into "fitting" me for a pillow. I said that I was fine in the pillow department. He pushed. I said that, again, my pillows were really fine. Once I'd established that I was not going to buy an overpriced pillow, he moved onto showing me overpriced mattress protectors. I said that I needed to think about it and would probably make a decision when I picked up my mattress. He pushed. I repeated that I needed time to think about it. Then, when I had buyer's remorse immediately upon returning home and called to cancel the order, I got the runaround. I had to call three different times to cancel the order, during which Stuart did his very best to derail me and push me into the purchase (e.g., "I want to cancel my order. I need some time to think about it, because it's very expensive." "Oh, so you want me to switch the order to the cheaper mattress?" No, I just specifically said cancel.) After the third call, he said that he would do it. I discovered several days later that he had not canceled the order after all, and sent a very irate complaint in. I immediately received a phone call from a woman who seems to be higher up in the company than Stuart. She was very apologetic and offered to help me if I still wanted to purchase from Sleepys, without being pushy - she simply gave me her phone number and email and said that if I changed my mind to contact her. The phone call made me feel a bit better about the company, but no better about the Greenpoint showroom. If you go in, try out some mattresses but don't let them talk you into the sale. Go home and think about it. If you go back, be prepared to haggle. Tell them that you like it, but your budget was half or 3/5 the cost. They'll probably knock down the price to make the sale. read more

Horrible! The customer service was atrocious. The sales lady should be ashamed of herself. I'm moving in February, so I took a friend with me to test out mattresses. My intention was to get a feel for what I like, and to better familiarize myself with brands and the price range of different models. Before we had a chance to really explore, the very rude saleswoman came over and flat out told us that if we didn't spend $2000+ on a mattress we shouldn't get one. (Seriously, she compared it compared it to cashmere) We politely thanked her, and told her we just wanted to look. Then she told us to stop sitting on the beds. She told us we couldn't. ...There were no shinanigans, we were respectful... She was just hateful and rude. #shame read more

My Husband and I recently purchased a bed from this location. Generally we are the type to buy things online, but when it came to a mattress, we wanted to try the product before buying. We had done some research, and kinda knew what we wanted, and the associated price ranges. When we visited the location it was pretty close to closing time, due to us getting off work late, so we we had limited expectations. We were pleasantly surprised at how attentive the sales associate was. Stuart not only showed us what we had in mind, but was also knowledgable enough to make some recommendations just based on our discussions of sleep habits. Ultimately not only did we find a great mattress, which was delivered promptly, but Stuart also worked within our budget and gave us a great deal! I can't say enough great things about Dee Dee at the Greenpoint Sleepy's at 759 Manhattan Ave. I foolishly ordered a "firm" mattress online from 1-800-MATTRESS (which has now been merged with Sleepy's) and knew I hated it on the first night. It was not firm at all, not by my standards! After making some phone calls, I realized how close the Greenpoint Sleepy's was to my new apartment, so I popped in and told Dee Dee my complicated, confusing predicament. She helped me SOOO very much!!! Upon trying ALL OF the firm mattresses on display, and not liking any single one of them, Dee Dee finally pulled out a cheaper foam mattress from the bottom of a trundle style bed. I ended up loving this cheap thing, it was firm and no weird foam or pillow top mushiness, but I needed to make an even exchange and this mattress/box spring combo was less than half the price of the one I had purchased online. After some creative deliberation, I decided to upgrade to a Queen size (from a Full size) and get a platform, which was also on sale for Memorial Day. Dee Dee also helped me find some amazing pillows to tack on to reach my even exchange. So I went from a measly mushy Full Mattress and Box Spring to a dazzling Queen set with a beautiful platform and some life changing pillows! Dee Dee was incredibly patient and helpful, and not pushy for a second! She was super informative and supportive, and gave me all the time in the world to figure out my final choices. I can't recommend this place enough, and I am so grateful for their flexible return policy and customer support! Was a little hesitant buying a mattress in my neighborhood but was truly surprised that I was welcomed with great sales people.
