I have scoliosis and was on the market for a mattress that will help alleviate my back pain, which has increased since the pandemic started in March. I had the pleasure of speaking with Sam, who let me test several mattresses, while engaging me in conversation about mattresses, mattress technology, sleep, comfort, back pain, and life. Sam is much more like a sleep enthusiast than a salesman. If you're in the market for a mattress, or if you're simply interested in learning about sleep technology or improving your sleep, I highly recommend going in and talking to Sam. He never pushed a sale on me, never made me feel rushed (and I was there talking and testing mattresses for a long time), never like a customer, and never felt he didn't care about how I'll sleep. My experience felt far more like learning about sleep, comfort, and back support than it did shopping for a mattress. Sam was always happy and interested to talk with me, answer my questions, respond to my concerns, shed advice on how to improve my sleep and back pain, and engage in conversation about quality sleep. When he didn't know an answer, he didn't pretend to, but he still engaged me in conversation and looked for answers. For me particularly, Sam helped educate me on everything that could help reduce my back pain, patiently and diligently, I've had scoliosis since elementary school, and I was not simply looking to buy a mattress. I was looking to learn about sleep technologies (pillows and mattresses) to help improve my back pain and pressure support. I almost made a horrible mistake going for a much firmer mattress, too firm for my weight, but Sam guided me in the right direction and I am getting great sleep and reducing my back pain. I don't give my business to anyone. I gave my business to Sam because he is extremely personable, patient, passionate about helping people improve their sleep, and knowledgeable. Sam has been selling mattresses for 20 years. He really knows his stuff, and not just currently, he knows the history, different technologies, how things have improved, what will meet people's needs. Beware! I bought a mattress here over six months ago. When it came to my house it was nothing like the store model. It was incredible firm and uncomfortable. I tried to exchange it but they assured me because of the cold weather it was stiff and would get softer. Well 6 months later and the entire heat of the summer and the mattress is still incredible stiff and nothing like the floor model. I would never again buy a mattress there or a mattress I could not return. I am positive they gave me the wrong mattress but I am now out thousands of dollars. read more

I recently bought a mattress from Sleepy's in Roslyn, and the whole experience, which I thought was going to be painful, turned out to be painless. My salesman was Joe. He answered every question I threw at him and spent up to an hour showing me all the mattresses until I found the right one. He practically had the mattress at my house before I even left the store. He did offer to buy my car as I entered and was kind enough too inform me that they only did luxury bedding there. I Informed him that I myself liked my Duxiana, to which he replied that it must be about $400. Obviously, of no use when it comes to mattresses. Avoid like the plague. There was nothing professional about this location, so perhaps they should change their tagline. The salesman was creepy and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we entered the store. He was annoyed that we asked questions about quality and tried to steer us towards an inferior mattress. It also turned out that the prices were higher at the Rosyln store than 2 other Sleepy's stores within a 10 minute drive. Stay clear of this location! read more
