My husband and I went to Mattress Firm tonight to buy a new mattress for our queen size bed. Been meaning to do this for a long long time. I have a terrible back (3 spinal fusion surgeries) and Marcia was our salesperson and she directed us to the perfect adjustable bed and mattress. She showed us two models, one was more expensive and we actually chose the less expensive one and got a great deal on it. do not buy from this company-absolutely no loyalty. 1 year ago my husband and I bought a mattress for almost $4K. the last few months I was having back and neck pain. bought hundreds of dollars worth of pillows and support covers, new box spring, not much help at all. then my husband started having back pain so we called to tell them we thought it was the mattress. we were denied our claim. a month ago, we had a house sitter stay and she had to sleep on the couch after 3 days because the mattress was so uncomfortable for her. called the company again and we're denied again. I originally came to this Sleepy's to purchase a new mattress, pillows, sheets, etc. I will keep this review very simple and short. I dealt with Ronnie and Simon. I will break my reviews into both sales people. Ronnie: Was nice at first, but kept trying to low ball me for a deal because I guess at the age of 24, I am "a kid and don't know the sales business." Fortunately for me, I do. She gave me a price and I said sure why not. Called back a few times and knocked the price off a few hundred. Ronnie then would non-stop call me on over 5 different numbers and try to close the sale. She was very persistent - yet, very annoying. So i decided to not get anything. Simon: Dealt with this heavy-set man recently after he was "the guy to go see if Ronnie wasn't there." He was a rude, disrespectful sales rep who didn't know the business at all. Listen, I get that your 50 years old working at Sleepy's - you must hate your life - fine. But, don't every turn business around to a different competitor or store. I called him recently, Simon told me my order has been cancelled and he couldn't see the inventory that I got. I knew this was a lie. Outcome: I went to a different Sleepy's who offered me a even lower deal with everything + better stuff included. The sales rep even showed me the computer in which the order was cancelled but everything was still inputted in the computer. I came in happy, and I left happy. Now that's a real Sleepy's sales store. STAY AWAY FROM GREENVALE AND SIMON - HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED. read more

This store was recommended to me by a friend, and he told us to ask for Simon. The store is out of my way, as I live on the south shore, but well worth the drive. Simon walked us though a series of beds to try, all different kinds of mattresses, different platforms, different types of springs, and different mattress construction. We tried the foam type, then soft, medium and hard traditional mattresses, hybrids, adjustable and more. He explained the pros and cons of each, demonstrated how our bodies reacted to each setup, from the back of our necks to the bottom of our spines, and why we felt the way we did on each. I tell you it was a lesson in anatomy. Simon was patient (I can be trying), listened to what we had to say, and in the end found us a great bed. He explained the in home trial, and what to do if we were not satisfied. After all you don't know really until it is yours and you are sleeping on it for a time. Plus he got us a great price!!! I went to the Greenvale store today to buy a new mattress and Scottt was my salesperson. He was very friendly and helpful. He showed me a few different mattresses and explained about the differences between them. After deciding which one to purchase we sat down and did all the paperwork. He made everything about the purchase very easy to understand from the warranty to the financing. After the purchase was finalized we talked for a few minutes about life in general. He didn't treat me like a stranger or just another customer there to spend money. I really appreciated the time he spent helping get the right product for me. I went into the Sleepy's store in Greenvale to just try out a few beds for a comfort exchange. (The bed I had received was not at all alike the feel of the bed I had tested at a different store where I bought it). Since it was just an exchange as soon as the friendly salesperson, Marcia Goldman, came to greet me I told her directly that I was there to do an exchange. I didn't want her investing time trying to "sell" me a new bed when I was just exchanging. Well, she really was absolutely wonderful! Despite what I told her she took the time to educate me on the various types of beds, she selected a few to try and helped me learn what to focus on as I tried the beds. She had a tremendous amount of patience and didn't pressure me. She helped me find a great bed, which was very different from what I had assumed was my comfort preference. And then she and the manager there, Debbie, worked with me to give me what I thought was a fair deal on the new mattress set and also the exchange. Great service by both Marcia and Debbie! I was very pleased with them, the education they gave me and their patience. Would definitely recommend the two of them. read more

I have a Sleepy's credit account and was interested in buying a chair that I had seen online that was on sale. I was very busy with work and didn't know when I could get in to order it.Thursday I had a friend call and ask how long the sale was going on and the man said it ended Saturday. I didn't want to miss the sale so I made time on Friday to get to the store. When I walked in the salesman was talking to some people. I told him I was there to order the chair- he remembered the phone call- he said his computer was down and that I would have to come back on Monday- he was very dismissive. He said he would still honor the sale price when I came back. I guess he figured I had nothing better to do than keep coming back. He didn't even take the time to check to see if his computer was back up or anything. He could have taken my info perhaps and processed the order when the computer came back online. I just got the impression he didn't want to be unavailable if the other people in the showroom wanted to buy something more expensive. He certainly didn't care about my little purchase. It turns out he was lying about the sale being over Saturday- it was still going on on Monday- I didn't have to waste the trip on a busy day Friday at all just to be told to come back. I was determined to get my chair for my father however, and decided to go to another location. I live near the Greenvale location and had bought mattresses from there before- last time from the same guy and he was shady the previous time too. I began to think that was just how Sleepy's was run- all about the upsell and slimy salesmen. I was determined to get my chair for my father ,however and decided to go to another location. Even if the salesman was creepy at the other location the price was good and the finance deal was great. Luckily I braved the rain and headed to Syosset NY where Ed was not only friendly but so helpful and patient. The chair is a special order drop ship and not what they usually sell but he was so happy to help. He made me wish I could buy even more from him. I will definitely tell all my friends to go to Sleepy's -any one but Greenvale- and hopefully one where Ed is working. My husband and I decided on a rainy Sunday to look for a new mattress for our queen size bed. Il embarrassed to say we had talked about getting a new one for the past 5 years but we're too lazy to do anything about it. I wasn't into ordering one on line - I really wanted to check them out in person - we stopped into Mattress Firm on Glen Cove Rd in Greenvale - and what I really appreciated about the store was the sales people not just swooping in as soon as you walked in- also that there are a number of types of mattresses to choose from. We have purchased mattress's for another home and most recently our kids - who are adults and needed new mattresses for their new apartments and for the bedrooms they keep at our home on LI. I really didn't like the new 100% foam ones that are put there now- they do appeal to lots of people - including my kids and husband, but I prefer the old fashioned kind. Going into the store to actually try them out was fun and educational because I had no idea there were so many kinds, hybrids, extra features - way too many to choose from- we were helped by Jim Mott, and he was extremely knowledgeable and sooo nice! We were so impressed - did not feel rushed or pressured into buying anything. Well - we did buy a Provide c'è Plush Pillowtop and we received our new mattress and box spring as promised with no issues. The delivery people were very professional and efficient. Was in the market for a new mattress. Been on the same one for 20 years so I think it was about time. I didn't know at all what kind of mattress I wanted. I figured I needed to really shop around to be educated on mattress types and brands. Not really for price because all you have to do is go online and compare. My first and last stop was at Sleepy's in Greenvale. The store was clean, bright and organized. I was welcomed by Ed. He began by showing me different beds that were on display in the center of the showroom. He explained each bed and had me lay down on them to see the difference in them and to see my response to each one. He stayed with me for at least one hour. He was not pushy or was he trying to sell me something I was not sure of. His knowledge of the different beds was amazing. He really made me understand the differences so I would make the right decision. I don't think you would receive that at major department stores. That same night I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Queen bed. I have had it for a couple of weeks and it's amazing! I highly recommend trying Sleepy's and ask for Ed.
