While this isn't as fancy as the mattress stores in the mall, it is so much better because of the staff and selection at this location. Go somewhere else. They don't deserve even one star. The salesperson (manager?) Nancy is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I highly recommend buying from Tracy at the shop next door called Sleepy's. He is very helpful and professional, and their prices are good. This afternoon I parked in the Mattress Warehouse parking lot (which was empty), spent 30 minutes in the mattress store next door called Sleepy's, then spent 30 minutes in Mattress Warehouse, and when I returned to the Mattress Warehouse parking lot they had towed my car. Even though I spent 30 minutes shopping in their store. I was actually planning on buying a mattress from them until I realized they had towed my car. It was towed to a lot 30 minutes away in Rockville and cost me $170 to get it out plus $40 for the taxi. The salesperson (manager?) Nancy is one of the rudest people I have ever met, and that was my impression of her before I knew she had towed my car. I was considering buying from Nancy later in the day after I got my car and returned to her store, but when I returned her attitude was condescending and unapologetic. The security guard in the parking lot told me that they sometimes tow 7 or 8 cars per day. Don't be one of them! And don't give Mattress Warehouse your business. What a terrible way for a business to treat their customers. Yes, their signs say they will tow your car, and yes they are legally entitled to do so. But that doesn't mean they should. Based on my experience, it's very much "Let the buyer beware" at this mattress store in Bethesda. I put a down payment of $1,505 on a bed I found there on 7/5/2019, with no set date for the bed's production or delivery. On 7/29/2019, I stopped by the store and requested a refund, as I would not in fact be moving into my new apt. for months pending renovations. I'd been told when I put down the deposit that I could obtain a refund "at any time." Nancy, the store manager, informed me that the refund would be forthcoming in a week to 10 days. When that time had elapsed, I phoned and was informed by Nancy that the owner wished instead to extend me a "special offer" if I were to withdraw my request for a refund. I did wait a day or two to hear from the owner, who was supposedly going to phone me but failed to follow up as Nancy had promised. After a couple of days I informed Nancy by phone that I did not want any "special offer" but just the refund I'd been promised weeks earlier. She promised again to get the refund issued. Later in August and at least twice this past week, Nancy responded to phone calls inquiring about my missing refund with the claim that she had in fact, as I had requested, emailed me a copy of a receipt showing a credit to my charge card. Per Nancy, "Oh, you haven't received that?" I reviewed at least five times, on three separate occasions, my email address, both with Nancy and her sales associate Saim, to ensure that the supposed email showing my refund had not been misdirected. Last weekend, however, Nancy had a different story: that my "refund request" -- and this was a request that dated back to 7/29/2019, or fully 38 days ago as of 9/4/2019 -- had been "sent to the home office last week," though she couldn't give the exact date. She asked that I, after all this time, contact Mattress Warehouse's Customer Service department, which will not be open until next week. So after all of these broken promises and runarounds by the store manager, I am further to be inconvenienced? Certainly this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced! User-unfriendly customer service is confirmed by the note below from "Customer Service M. of Mattress Warehouse Business Manager." Rather than obtaining information from his store manager in Bethesda and promptly issuing a refund, he asks me to contact him by email "so we can look more into the issue." "buyer beware" I bought a mattress, changed my mind the next day before the delivery date and within cancellation policy agreement. I haven't gotten the charge refunded on my card. When I did call to cancel, they tried to sell me another mattress. I said no. It has been almost a month and I still don't see the charge refunded. I have called, emailed and even called customer service at sleephappens.com and nothing has happened. I finally am disputing the charge and calling the BBB. I purchased an expensive Aireloom mattress here and while the mattress is great the store was not upfront about the exchange within 100 day option. I was very very clear that I was not sure if I wanted an adjustable frame and was told that along with the mattress I also had the opportunity to try the frame out and exchange if not pleased. However when I decided I did want to exchange to a regular box spring I was told it's not a possibility; only the mattress can be exchanged. I feel duped and lied to and am sorry now I spent my money at this store. I would recommend buying your mattress elsewhere. This parking lot is ruthless. Had my car towed while dealing with a family emergency. Staff did not care. I was essentially extorted for $160 - not worth it. Buy online or go somewhere else. The sign in front of my car said customer parking only. I honestly believed my car in a valid spot for the store I was in. It's not as clearly marked as some reviews suggest. I'm not too cheap to pay for parking and take offense to that suggestion. I gladly would have had I been aware of this risk, except that I honestly believed that the I was validly parked. Beware the parking harpies at this store. If you park in their lot even for 30 seconds and fail to go immediately in the store, they call the towing company and take you for a $168 dollar ride. There is a Stasi camera to enforce this, even when the lot is otherwise empty. Completely unapologetic. Don't get a latte, don't mail a letter, don't pass go, they will seize your car. I'm satisfied with the service I've received; bought a queen size mattress of good quality at an amazing price. The lady Nancy that helped me is well educated in what she specializes in. One thing that I really love about this store is they are willing to give you the best prices possible. At first I went next door to sleepy's not only couldn't the guy answer my questions about mattresses but was not even willing to negotiate a reasonable price. I took his estimate next door and not only did Nancy beat his price but I came out with a better brand mattress at a way more comfortable price. I was so disappointed with Mattress Warehouse. The staff hides in back gabbing and you have to go after them for customer service. We had a sealy mattress in mind, and we tried to work with Nancy who would only take off 5% of the list price and if you read Consumer Report you know that mattresses have a huge markup. I guess she can command these ridiculous prices as she wasn't interested in our business. Went out this evening with the intention of comparison shopping at the 3 mattress stores, thinking things over, looking online and then making a purchase in a few weeks. After meeting Nancy, we walked away having purchased a brand new mattress and are looking forward to delivery this Friday. We walked in at 8:15pm and walked out at 9. Nancy was excellent. She listened to our needs and preferences and was able to narrow down the mattresses to 4. Having just come from Sleepys (which was a great shopping experience, but the prices were just a bit out of our budget) Nancy was sensitive to what our budget was and helped steer us in the direction of the highest quality mattress within our budget. She knows what she is talking about and is very friendly and personable. On top of giving us a number of options she was able to offer us great deals with prices that beat the competitors we found online and in person. I felt like this was a great shopping experience that was straight to the point with reasonable prices. I am happy to learn that this is locally owned business and I am supporting my local economy with this purchase. On a note about parking, there are plentiful signs explaining the lot is for customers only. I am positive the people who posted about parking issues wanted free parking in downtown Bethesda on a weekend and were to cheap to pay the meter or lot across the street. I bought a mattress here, it was delivered lopsided. When I say lopsided I mean the left side of the bed was one foot higher than the right side. So you couldn't sleep on it as you would end up rolling off. I called the store and they gave me a very hard time to get a replacement one. I said I would return it and they told me if I returned it they would charge me a fee. They ended up making things right by giving me a free pillow with the replacement mattress. But it took about a week to get a new mattress. But the whole process was awful I would not recommend going here. read more

Walked in to the store on Memorial Day weekend to purchase two mattresses- not window shop, purchase. Explained to the extremely helpful (at the time) sales woman, Nancy, that we needed a twin mattress and a mattress for the trundle portion of my sons first "big boy" bed. Within five minutes she told me what she would purchase and that there was only one mattress that fits all trundle beds. Easiest sale and purchase ever, yes! But, wait, the mattress gets delivered the next day and the new bed a fews days after and guess what...the mattress that fits "every trundle bed on the market" doesn't fit! I call to let her know that it's too thick and the trundle portion of the bed won't roll back under the bed- she told me to give her a couple of hours to investigate and she would be back in touch. Over a week goes by, no phone call- after FIVE phone calls and still no resolution, I ask to speak with customer service- that ended up being an even worse experience. I then left a voicemail for the general manager of the region- and what do you know, no call back. Here I am with a mattress sitting in my basement (with the plastic on it) and no mattress on the lower portion of my sons new bed. Nancy could not have been a better sales person on the spot- I listened to her expertise, trusted her right away only to be duped in the end. My next phone call is to American Express - they do have customer service- and I will be filing a complaint. This is my first negative Yelp review but the experience was one that I feel I needed to share with others-- go to one of the other two mattress stores down the street- maybe when the sales woman tells you what to purchase and it's not what works with your bed, they will actually have the decency to make it right after the first or second phone call...not FIVE! read more

My daughter slept on her mattress for about 40 days and said the living room sofa was more comfortable. I went back to Mattress Warehouse, since they said they had a 120 return policy. What was not mentioned was the 25% restocking fee - and it is not a return policy - it is an exchange policy. Now Nancy, the store manager, insisted she had told us the full policy, but I would say not. Plus a 25% restocking fee - shop at Bloomingdale's - better quality and if you don't like the mattress - it is only a 10% restocking fee. I am not happy. read more

I purchased a mattress here a month ago. Paid for it up front, and set up delivery for 3 weeks from then even though they told me they could ship the next day. I had to wait until I closed on my house. They called the day before, and said the mattress was not available for delivery. Although that very call delayed my move by a week, I stomached it and figured it was just a one-time thing. The following Tuesday (when they were supposed to get it back in stock), I called again and they said they had delivery schedule for Wednesday. I said that wouldn't work, let's do Friday. So we set it up for Friday. Friday morning when they were supposed to call to give me my delivery window, they called and said I would not be getting a delivery today (despite me having taken off work JUST to be here for the delivery). I called the store and they said they would hopefully get them in today and they would deliver tomorrow, and would call me with a 3 hour window. I said that wasn't going to happen, I needed assurance it would be first thing in the morning. They couldn't give me that. Fed up, I went into the store and demanded a refund. They offered me $100 off, which as of now I accepted. I am waiting to see if they have it in stock today. If they don't, I will return it and go to sleepy's two doors down, which I have now realized is a much better store and where I should have gone in the first place. I have to say what an excellent buying experience my fiancé and I had here! In order to find out what type of mattress you need, there is a body type analyzer. This is perfect considering I haven't purchased a mattress for myself in a while. Sugandha was wonderful in assisting us with our purchase! STAY AWAY. I almost never leave reviews but this time it was worth it. *TWICE* I had a bad experience here. Two years ago they were bad, and today they were just as bad. Like most other people are saying, Nancy is extremely rude. In addition, the male salesperson (don't remember his name, but he's the large one) was incredibly rude as well. I went in after going to Mattress Discounters and having done a fair amount of research. While the name mattresses are given varies by store to try to prevent you from price shopping, you can still compare the same manufacturer and the same brand and the same collection to some extent, such as Simmons (manufacturer) Recharge (brand) Luxury (price tier) Plush (firmness level). But when I went into Mattress Warehouse and explained that I had some mattresses in mind and wanted to see if they could beat the price Mattress Discounters offered, they were immediately dismissive and rude. They were basically arguing that I should just go somewhere else. It was so bad that I literally asked them "are you asking me to leave?" Mr. Chubby employee was so obnoxious that when I made a joke about how the same mattress has different names (was trying to diffuse the tension from Nancy's aggression), he looked at me with a straight cold expression and said "great joke." Not even a smile or fake laugh. Seriously people, I am not the type to leave reviews on Yelp. This business is BAD. Sleepy's may be more expensive for certain mattresses, but walk 2 minutes to Mattress Discounters. Trust me. They will match the prices at Mattress Warehouse and they're not OBNOXIOUS. He knew what he was talking about about and very clearly explained the differences to us. It didn't take long to hone in on which one we wanted. I was particularly impressed that he didn't try to steer us toward the most expensive one, but rather toward the one that best met our needs. He even pointed out less expensive, but comparable quality alternatives. He was also extremely patient, which was much appreciated. He never tried to rush us. We bought a queen foam mattress last week and not only were we pleased with the mattress but Nancy took the time to discuss the benefits and differences among mattresses and find a fit for our needs and price. Like several reviews below we also did some comparison shopping with other stores. Mattress Warehouse gave us the best price and accessories compared to competitors. After the transaction we learned that Mattress Warehouse is a locally owned business so not only were we getting a great deal, we were also supporting a local business rather than a chain store. This store and the products it sells on sale are for crap. I spent $1,659.00 on a bed and adjustable base. The very first time I used the adjustable base it froze in the upright position. I went back to the store and ensured I had the paper work need for service call for the warranty which I purchased. I called the service number three times in one week close to (but before tbe posted hours on the web site) to report my problem and was told to call back between at 8am and 8pm eastern. After being and then called the store back and reported to my saleswoman who graciously said she wo call service to let them know I know had two problems (1) adjustable bed not working & (2) I had called 3 times during working hours and emailed help desk to no avail. The very saleswoman called me back tbe next day to inform that she was assures of I called during the correct hours - they would take my call.and solve my problems. Horsepucky. I called during posted hours and have the phone log to show calls. So on Thursday I came home early from work to call and get help. Calling service I got a relatively helpful many who asked me for a serial number which of course was not on any paperwork. He suggested several places under the bed to look for a serial number. Having no luck I called back to tbe store in Betbesda and talked to Chuck. He called me three or four timss trying to identify tbe serial number. On the third call we thought we hand answer - look on remote! Yes it was not there. He tben told me repeatedly to take apart tbe remote. I assured him se eral times the remote would not come apart. He suggested I bring in said remote and that he had successfully opened several remotes. Finally after going back and forth he realized that my remote was wired had no batteries & and that I had a wired device. Agh simple look at coord three feet down and find a sticker with tbe illusive number. But as luck would have it tbe only way to get at wire where the information was included taking apart the king size bed, flipping it over and sure enough there were several stickers on the base. Serial number in hand three more calls to service and support including two dropped calls to get at the truth. The motor after one (1) use was blown. Also the real reason the sales people didnt want talk to me but wanted service to talk to me was to tell me tbe parts but no labor is covered under the warranty. So I paid for parts shipping and in 7 working days and with the luck of the Irish I may receive parts and then go hire a qualified installer. Fyi nobody told me but I figured out as I had the bed upside down, I could take out two kotter pins and lower the bed. resolving my inability to sleep on the bed. 30 hour effort and my bed is at least flat again. We'll see if parts come and how much the 1 time use motor will cost for installation. I'll never buy another on sale or any other mattress from this joint. Recommend you don't either cause it is crap, the support team are demonstrated flat out liars and people like Chuck who basiclly called me a dumbass for not being able to open a remote (which was not designed to open) works there in Besthesda store. read more

Horrible experience. Do not purchase anything from this particular store. The mattress was not delivered on time. The delivery department ("Mike") was extremely rude. I requested a refund. I was told the refund process takes approximately 3 days. 17 days later, after I called customer service multiple times at the Store Manager's request, left voicemails, and left a bad review on Google Reviews, I finally got a call from Miriam in customer service. Miriam tells me the store manager, Nancy, never submitted a refund request (which seems unlikely because Nancy told me she submitted the request on March 7). Miriam says she would take my request to the District Manager. 22 days later, on March 29, I still have not received a refund. I've called customer service on more than 5 occasions and there is no answer. I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

I thought I was walking into Sleepys (I guess I should have read the sign above the door! they're right next to each other). But I'm so glad I went to Mattress Warehouse. Not only did I find the mattress I wanted at a better price - the buying process was easy, quick and enjoyable. Nancy helped me through the process and she was very friendly, very very knowledgable about the products but she also listened, and addressed my questions in a way that made me really feel like I was getting a great product. I did get a great product - but the buying process was made all the better with Nancy's personable style. At other locations I felt like I was being "sold" on items - Nancy made me feel that she was listening to what I wanted and needed and found a product that was just what I needed. I HIGHLY recommend shopping here and though I can't testify to other employees - I recommend seeing Nancy when you need a new mattress! read more

Please don't give them your business EVER. They are HORRIBLE. They have predatory towers and horrible service people. Last Friday I went in and got a quote for 3 mattresses. I liked the sales person enough. I went in on the following Monday with the intention of purchasing those mattresses. I decided at the last minute to go do a last price comparison at Sleepys (two doors down). There are signs in their parking lot that state if customers walk off site, they will be towed, but the sign does not make it clear that this is only for customers of Mattress Warehouse- it looks as if it could apply to the whole strip mall area. There are signs above specific parking spots that state "Mattress Warehouse Customer Parking" so those spots look like they are specifically for the MW customers. I parked in one of the other spots with the more generic sign. I went in to Sleepys and walked out 14 minutes later to find my car had been towed. When I went in to Mattress Warehouse, very upset, since I was supposed to pick up my two small children from the bus stop in 20 minutes, the woman, NANCY, said to me, didn't try to say anything calming-- rather she just said, "Well you should have come in here first." I was LIVID. She called the police and said, "I have a customer who is upset, like they always get." Yes, two kids waiting, no way to get the car that has been towed 30 minutes away, $440.00 that would have been used for a mattress. There are over 8 parking spots for a tiny store that likely never has more than 3 customers in it at a time-- I would not be at all surprised if they make more money from the kickback they receive from the towing company. Its really too bad b/c they would have gotten my business, but now they will just get my angry comments. read more

I agree this lady Nancy is the rudest person, I cannot believe they hired her as a store manager. I parked my car and was going to order a mattress for my tenant. I first went to post office and was going to her store, I even told to the clerk at the post office that I am in town so short and had to buy the mattress and make the condo ready for the tenant. I left the post office and I saw that they were towing my car. I asked the guy do not tow I am going to store and order the mattress, Nancy was outside very rude instead selling me the mattress, she said I had to pay the tow and went back to store. The tow truck guy said I had to pay $75, when I said I do not have cash but credit card. then he asked cash to release my car. He asked me to go to ATM machine. He decrease to $40 if I pay cash and I finally made him agree $25 and I went to get money and he hold my driver license . Once I gave the money to him, he said this is for Nancy who called the tow truck against to me. This is scam. Then I went to store again Nancy was very rude while I was there the tow truck guy called Nancy and confirmed the cash he took from me to give it to her or share, I do not know the real deal between them. I think Mattress Warehouse will loose so many customer because of Nancy and also I do not know how much scam they do with getting money from us as cash and share. At the end Nancy made money but not the store. I will definetely buy the mattress somewhere else. read more
