Visiting the Wagon Yard was near perfect on a recent trip to Granbury. Allow me to explain. South of North Texas you'll find in recent years newly made in Mexico metal signs with minimal tack weld featuring everything from Longhorns, Aggies, Wine, Bar's open...etc. Point being I found every room unique and a bit above the norm for Texas kitsch. Ok, a few things are a carbon copy. Yet, I found some excellent pottery and signs that I haven't seen before. Alot of aviation options, and furniture that seems to be from the area with options for customization. Glad I took a stroll a half block of the square and visited the Wagon Yard.

It's a lot, around 500,000 dollars per year. A contractor friend then told us about Boys and Girls of America, so we started taking things there. We learen everything earned at the resale shop (on 377) stays in Hood County. Nice. Then our neighbor started volunteering at People Helping People (PHP), which we did not know about. We identified more with PHP and what they do. No one gets paid. It's all 100% volunteer, all the way to the top. We even saw a past Granbury mayor volunteering here! So now we take our items to PHP, and have even shopped here. There are two, indoor, resale shops. When we need something, we come here first. I found a great pair of matching cufflinks and tie bar here. Thúy got some nice knives to use in the garden and some cake pans. So now PHP is our go to place for donating, and shopping for hard to find items. They are super helpful…read more They are very upfront with consigners that it is the consigners responsibility to check back with them every few weeks to see if their item has sold as they have so many people that consign with them that it would be impossible for them to call you. They also are very upfront with what they think they can sell your item for and how much % they keep and you keep, typically it is a 50/50 split. Which I think is fair as they do have overhead to keep. Lovely place always tastefully decorated and interesting. Always new pieces. The staff are very helpful in loading items in your car or offering a dleviery service for a reasonable fee.

During the holiday season I was on the hunt for a Christmas decoration I bought the prior year in…read moremy local craft store (I live in New York). I called the manufacturer and found out that there were three stores that bought the remaining items, one of them being the Hamilton General Store . I called over and had the best experience with one of the staff members. She was so nice she even sent over pictures to make sure that they were in fact the items that I needed. After placing to order they sent out my items immediately and even followed up to make sure that it was delivered okay. The customer service is top notch and I wish that we had this store in New York!
