THE G.O.A.T. (does not contain goat)

The tacos themselves were actually really good, but the portioning/pricing was honestly ridiculous. We ordered the chicken taco for $6.50 and the other taco for $10, with the understanding that the $10 taco was supposed to come with a more substantial portion of meat. We happened to have a food scale with us and weighed the meat from both tacos -- somehow, the $6.50 chicken taco actually had MORE meat by weight than the $10 taco. For a $10 taco, I really don't think it's unreasonable to expect a meaningful amount of protein, especially when it's served on a tortilla this large. The tortilla-to-filling ratio was almost comical; there was a huge amount of empty tortilla surrounding a relatively small pile of meat. If you're charging nearly 50% more for one taco, the portion should reflect that. Which is frustrating because the food genuinely tasted good! The chicken was flavorful, the toppings were good, and we enjoyed both tacos. But $10 for a taco with less meat than the $6.50 option is really hard to justify. Either use a smaller tortilla, give a substantially larger portion of meat, or bring the price down. Good food, genuinely disappointing value. I will say though, INCREDIBLE tortillas

Great tacos. Service was pretty quick when I was here. Unique style. Prices are a bit high. Two tacos was $15 but I guess they have the demand.

Reputable Tex Mex taco spot inside of Great Notion Brewery on Alberta. Not traditional but soso good. One taco is basically the size of a small burrito and they load it up with their famous BBQ meat. The prices might be intimidating but I do think you get what you paid for. The GOAT was a unique combo of both the brisket and pulled pork, as well as flour and corn tortilla. Seems like a lot but it works! The queso tied everything together. The Smoked Turkey was also delicious. Again, generous on the succulent turkey and the iceburg lettuce really freshen the taco up. Their Rojo and Verde Salsas were some of the best I've had. Can't wait to be back and try more of their unique tacos!

Matt's BBQ Tacos is a really good spot for food. It's located inside of Great Notion Brewery. There is a seating area indoors and outdoors as well. Inside there is only a small window to order, you can also order online which is what I would reccomend with how busy they can get. They typically use flour tortillas but I think it compliments the BBQ meats better. The tortillas are pretty soft. Staff: nice (4/5) Sanitation status: (3/5) Pork Belly Taco (4/5) The pork belly meat was really tender and they lathered up the bbq sauce on this one. It was a little bit hard to taste the other ingredients individually but it still tasted good. I would say if you're not into super wet bbq it might not be the one for you or you might be able to ask for less sauce on it. Chopped Brisket Breakfast Taco (5/5) This was a big hit for me as it had a bunch of good things I would put in a breakfast burrito. I would say the potatos might make it too heavy but it was still a good combo and I would definitely order again. Sausage Patty Breakfast Taco (5/5) The sausage patty breakfast taco was a sneaker on me cause it ended up being my favorite. the sausage patty went well with everything else in here especially with cheese and eggs. I'm definitely ordering this when I go back.

This is a great location is it sits inside a brewery with lots of open seating indoor and outdoor. Tried a wide range of tacos. Favorite one by far was the pork belly nachos that were topped with avocado and pickled red onions. Would easily get those again. It was flavorful, tender, and warm. None of the other tacos stood out to me. I would come back to try their breakfast selection

Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

It is the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable settling into. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, and the service was genuinely great throughout. We ordered the Quekas with vegan chorizo and black beans and they were SO good, honestly a standout. The chips and guac were also a hit, and I loved that the guac was actually cold. Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. I will definitely be back!

My…read moregirlfriend and I were running errands yesterday evening, and decided to order some burritos for pick up when we were done. And to be honest, we were debating whether to get papi chulo's or not since it was a weeknight and we never eat out on weeknights. Safe to say, it was a mistake. They told her on the phone that our pick up order would be ready in 10 min. I walked in there 15 min later to get it, and it was not ready. The gentleman helping me out when I walked in looked like he had zero idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the pick up order name. He then immediately walked away from me and went to the register, and proceeded to ask me what I ordered and at this point, I knew he didn't know what it was and he said, "oh, it will be ready in 7 minutes." I ordered only 3 Breakfast burritos with no meat or anything in them - so, I thought 7 min wasn't too bad. Boy, was I wrong. It actually took 20 min (yes, 20 min) with me standing there by the table until the order was ready with no number or anything. I'll remind you all that there were legit 2 other customers in there and ONE CUSTOMER received their order before our 3 breakfast burritos were ready! That isn't right. I get sometimes food takes awhile, but both of them didn't apologize or anything while I was waiting. I've been to Muchas Gracious waiting for my order before, and they offered me a free drink because they felt bad they were having me wait 5 min! I don't accept it because I felt bad, but the point is, the lack of accountability and customer service during this experience was dreadful. And to be honest, the times I've been here, they haven't ever been too nice to me. After the order was finally ready, the lady working by the grill stuffed in at least 10 plastic containers of hot sauce into my bag. When we got home, most of them opened up and it left the biggest mess in the bag! Come on guys. This was just bad. Plus, my burritos were greasy anyways and tasted off. (See picture of the mess). I won't lie, there's plenty of other Mexican restaurants and establishments I can go to other than Papi Chulo's. Pretty disappointing experience overall and I can guarantee you I won't be going back anytime soon. I'd give the experience a 1/10 and the food a 2/10.
