I found myself in a bit of a bind yesterday. I needed to find a bakery to make a dozen gourmet chocolate cupcakes with coconut flavored white frosting and I needed them by 9am this morning. I must have contacted or visited every bakery on the island and not one would so much as lift a finger to help me with the exception of Tori at Maui Cakes. I actually had several other "high end" bakeries tell me to "just go to WalMart". Tori on the other hand, agreed to take my custom order and delivered an absolutely first class product on time and on budget and did it all with a smile. We came to Maui as a last minute vacation for my husbands 40th birthday. Covid has cancelled 2 other vacations this year, and we weren't sure we would even be able to make it to Maui. So when I contacted Tori with 1 weeks notice about a custom cake, I was happy and shocked she could do it! We ordered an 8" strawberry guava cake designed to look like a traditional Lava Flow drink, since that's my husbands favorite drink. It was absolutely delicious!!! One of the best cakes I've ever had. It also easily served all 10 of us with plenty of leftovers for the next day. Everything about the process working with Tori was so easy and they even delivered to our hotel so I didn't have to sneak away to pick it up! Since the beginning of the year I have bought an anniversary cake (Doctor Who themed), 24 kendama themed cupcakes, a dozen Loki themed cupcakes, and a dozen TARDIS/Doctor Who themed cupcakes. We recently celebrated my niece's 18th birthday in Maui and I contacted Tori @ Maui Cakes to create a "country girl" themed birthday cake. My niece rides horses and she is true country girl at heart. Tori made everything so easy.......I sent her a few pictures from Pinterest for inspiration and she took it from there. I reached out to Tori over email to create a cake for my husband and I for our 10-year vow renewal in October of this year. Tori was easy to work with from the very start. Unfortunately, with the continued threat of the Covid pandemic, and a newborn who will only be 5 months in October, we decided to postpone our travel and ceremony. I emailed Tori to request a refund of the monies paid for our cake, and she responded quickly and refunded our money right away. I actually live in Massachusetts and upon realizing that my mailed birthday package may not arrive to my little sister living in Wailuku I frantically began to search for a bakery that would be able to deliver a sweet surprise to the farm she is working at outside of the city. Tori is amazing!!! I found Maui Cakes online in search of a groom's cake for my rehearsal lunch. I asked for a Florida State cake and that was the only parameter I gave her, and she was wonderful. The FSU cake you did far exceeded my expectations. It was phenomenal. And, the chocolate cake was delicious. Tori was kind enough to help us celebrate a six year old's birthday during our rehearsal by creating a cupcake for him - the aquarium themed cupcake was a huge hit with the birthday boy.
