Watch TV embedded in the ceiling as they work on your teeth. Sweet :)

Amazing dental office and team. Dr Dodson is super gentle and caring. He's great at what he does but most importantly, he's kind to all his nurses/staff. It makes sense then why all the staff are super nice too. He fixed the issue I had with a leaking root canal that was leaking into the gums. Everything went super and all was good and it comes with a complimentary follow up visit in a year.

My first dental dam. Amazing. So much more comfortable than without.

That was my first root canal, and (I couldn't believe it) one of the easiest (dare I say pleasant) dental experiences of my life, and I'm 53. Seriously. I couldn't be more pleased. I've had *cleanings* far more uncomfortable than that. I was in agony... came in for a consultation at 2:30 (tooth-hurty, I kid you not ) and they were able to squeeze me in at the end of the day. I was pain free and driving home with a smile on half my face lol before I could even process what just happened. Dr Zach and his staff were refreshing. His skill and experience were evident, and his pleasant demeanor (and the courtesy with which he treats his staff) was a welcome bonus. They are a highly functional team. I recommend some earbuds, and enjoy your day at the dental spa.

Never Been This HAPPY After a Major Dental Procedure :)

=== LOOK NO FURTHER === * Patient * Kind * Gentle * Skilled * Efficient * Wonderful * LOW STRESS * The Anxious Person's DREAM* (: BONUS: MASSAGE CHAIR :) Still not convinced? Hmmmmm... I kinda thought "massage chair" was the deal maker... No? Just me? Well would it help if I said: "a crybaby's dream"? I mean like I literally entered crying from fear & anxiety to practically LEAPING out of the chair at the end to give the Dr. & his Assistant a hug - but because of Covid had to settle for a standing ovation. Now that is saying a LOT! It was a MASSAGE chair after all (stay with me here). SERIOUSLY THOUGH... I have NEVER been THIS happy exiting a dentist's office after a ROOT CANAL or after any major dental procedure. Zachary T Dodson, DDS of Maui Endodonics, YOU are my new HERO . From intial phone calls... to stepping into the reception area... to x-rays, consultations, needles, procedure.. I was TOTALLY, PATIENTLY and GENTLY cared for by EVERYONE. *DANIELLE -at Reception and on the phone; *JAS - x-rays, intake info, post care instructions, assisting the Dr., etc; and of course *‍DR. DODSON himself. This is HIGH PRAISE from a girl who has had EXCELLENT dentists her entire life because I could settle for nothing less with my low threshold for gum and oral pain. But after a negative experience 3 years ago which eventually landed me in an ER after a root canal (done elsewhere) my fear & anxiety was THROUGH THE ROOF for this appointment. Even though I thought I had calmed my nerves before my appointment, I wound-up crying in the dentist's chair before everything started. I even apologized for being a 'baby' because that is how I felt. I couldn't believe I had that much fear that I would start crying. It could have been embarrassing, but Jas and Dr. Dodson were so kind and patient. They calmed all my fears and talked me through everything, and I mean EVERYTHING including the "pre-numbing" BEFORE the actual needles. I felt virtually NOTHING the ENTIRE TIME!! (Now almost 24hrs later - and I have experienced no pain or swelling.) I went from being tense, ready at ANY moment to raise my hand because of pain, to totally almost sleeping. In fact I probably would have fallen asleep if Dodson wasn't constantly checking how I felt, or verbalizing the pressure I would feel, or the sounds I would hear. I marvelled at his constant checking-in with me, to make sure I was ok. 2.5 Hours at dentist!! But the actual root canal only took like 20-30 min (or at least it felt that way)!!! That's how patient & caring they were!!! God-Willing, I will never go to ANY other dentist for endodonic care. I am TOTALLY set for my oral health now with my primary dentist and with my new dental hero Dr. Zachary Dodson at Maui Endodonics!

Pros to this office: *Didn't have a long wait time to be…read moreseen and no packed waiting room. Cons to this office: *Office isn't as "clean" as I would expect. Trash was overflowing onto the countertop in their patient restroom and toilet seat looked like it hadn't been sanitized in quite awhile. Ick. *Office claimed they all wear their masks all the time, but that's not true. A couple of employees quickly put their masks on when they saw patients walking in. *Staff that remained after 5:00 pm had no clue about what was arranged with staff from earlier in the day. * Assistant was very rude. Brought my family member out and made it very obvious she was not happy when she spoke with the receptionist about the next appointment. When I asked her a question she just walked off. I've worked in dentistry for over 27 years and I am surprised that our experience was as bad as it was. I truly thought that the Uehara's would have a well -educated and professional staff. Hopefully, it's just a few bad apples. However, we won't be returning.

Here to comment that I was an unfortunate victim of the Ueharas over a decade ago when they claimed…read moreI got 10 cavities in one year using their 'fancy predictive equipment'. My parents and I chalked it up to me getting braces off and maybe not brushing properly with them, but now that I see it's happened to many others...yikes. We should've gotten a second opinion. They took about 5 hours for a couple fillings they said would take only 1-2 hours and kept messing up my anesthesia. They also didn't believe me when I said I needed more anesthetic than most due to genetics and I felt every. single. thing. They originally gave me the absolute bare minimum anesthetic and I had to ask for more probably 3-4 times. They didn't believe me until they decided to drill and I flinched/yelped so loud that they finally gave me more injections. Then they left the room for so long it wore off by the time they returned and had to redo the process from scratch. To top this off, in a later appointment they fit one of my crowns so horrifically I couldn't bite down properly for a year and I've had lasting TMJ and asymmetrical muscles in my face ever since. In retrospect, my family and I probably should've pursued legal action, but it's so long in the past now that I'd just severely warn everyone to stay away.
