I had a molar #2 tooth that became sensitive to hot cold over night. It was my last molar not with a root Canal. Called Dr. Yee's Office and answered the desk person's questions. She said let me see what I can do, I'll call you back. Five minutes later she said we can see you tomorrow at 11 am on a standby basis. I arrived and it was then I remembered being there before. I filled out the paperwork and waited 20 minutes and they sat me down. The Assistant was polite and very efficient. Asked about the pain in my tooth and said she had to take x-rays. That took a few minutes and she was back with a swab filled with topical anesthesia after she showed the Doctor in another operatory the film. In a few minutes the assistant had loaded the tray and set up everything. The Doctor walked in and explained that they had found a cavity that was near the nerve and a Root Canal was indeed needed. He gave we two additional nearly pain free shots that he took his time injecting the anesthesia into. After finishing they took additional X-rays and both gave me precautions and tips on how to get past the tooth until the pain subsided. He did give me 3 prescriptions on an in case basis but they were not needed. That afternoon took two advil as the anesthesia wore off and two more at bedtime. The next morning the area was sore. Two advil and I went on a 50 mile Bike ride. Now three days later no issues at all and am ready for my appointment for the crown. They are well experienced at this and are a 5 star in my book. My 14 years old brother Rendel has been having issues on his teeth and his dentist in Wailuku referred Dr. Randall Yee to do a root canal. So just now as I write my review I'm still in His clinic waiting for my brother. To be honest I've been to other dental clinic in Lahaina or Kihei but this one Is my favorite. The staff were very kind and helpful. I'm impressed with the kind of service they provide to their patients. I also love that Dr. Yee took the time to explain to me very well the things that needed to be done on my brother's tooth before he proceed to doing the root canal. He used illustrations. I had an emergency root canal the day before a planned trip to the mainland. Dr. Yee's Office managed to fit me into their very busy schedule. Believe it or not, I had no pain during the procedure. From what I could find with limited research, Dr. Yee is not only the best endodontist on Maui, he is the only one here full time. Needing a root canal soon after arrival on Maui, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Yee, a graduate of Indiana University Dental School who has been on Maui for many years. I was less than impressed with the location of his office. But once inside everything was professional and friendly. Dr. Yee was personable, yet all business when he got down into my roots. As an endodontist he's an expert at what he does and it came across throughout my visit. My dentist in Kahului worked on my cavity which ended up with my tooth being extremely sensitive. I went back and she filed it down and eventually it became intolerable pain. She suggested I see Dr Randall Yee as she could not find out the problem. I called Dr Yee's office and his staff understood tooth pain and got me in the very next day. Yup! I needed a root canal and my nerve was close to getting an abscess. Dr Yee was very comforting and def put me at ease because he knew what he was doing. No pain throughout the procedure and after. Dr Yee did my last root canal. When I said I was having problems breathing because my sinuses were clogged, Dr Yee told me it was psychosomatic. Dr Yee was dismissive. I still get occasional twinges of pain in the tooth. read more

I was referred to this dental office, and it was my first time there. Although the location is a bit hard to find, I was greeted with friendly staff and a great environment. I got a root canal done, and I was terrified at first. The doctors and assistants are very helpful and kind. I felt very little pain during the procedure but everything else was great. Dr. Yee and his team cared for me with respect and unbelievable skill upon my emergency visit to his office on January 27,2020. I landed in Maui 1/26/20 in the evening after developing a tooth ache in flight. I contacted my family dentist in California. It was recommended for me to see an Endodontics Specialist immediately on Maui. All I had to go by in choosing one was Yelp reviews . Dr. Yee had the best education, experience and reviews ; however he was fully booked on 1/27/20 when I called. His front desk team squeezed me in during Dr. Yee's lunch hour at noon. When I arrived they already had my records from my family dentist. After a short wait they seated me. Daphne, one of his assistants, stayed with me the entire time. She is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled as well as highly compassionate. She has worked for Dr. Yee for over 15 years. I found that it's common for most of his staff to have worked for him 20 years or more! Dr Yee was informative, he explained everything that needed to be done in detail. He was extremely efficient, careful and concerned about my comfort before, during and after my visit. The reason why I rated a 3/5 because I recently I got a root canal for the second time and this time the doctor made a comment that upset me. I have anxiety and I told them but obviously maybe everyone says it so maybe they didn't believe me which was annoying as well. So when they had to put that tarp thingy around the tooth they kept pulling and yanking my cheek because the tooth I got work done was the bottom last tooth so I understand the area is hard to get but when your client tells you that it hurts don't say "just pulling your cheek it's not big deal" NO BIG DEAL? Well I'm sorry that I'm feeling pain like your ripping my tooth out. I got very upset and started to cry because that's just how I am when I'm too upset. Then the X-ray had to happen and the lady just shoved it and gagged which I hate too. I just felt very uncomfortable and pissed off so I stayed quite and just let them do whatever to me just so I can get out of there. The lady that helped the doctor was sorry for gagging me and was nice about it but still that doctor made that comment upset me and I was he was more sensitive instead of making me feel like what I was feeling was nothing when it was pain! I don't care if the pain isn't like the shocking feeling I've been dealing with, pain is pain so next time be sensitive about other people's feelings and different pain levels. read more

I lost a deep filling on a molar just prior to going to the mainland. I called several Dentists but no one could see me for a couple weeks. I knew my tooth was in potential need of a root canal. I called Dr. Yee's office at 9 AM. Cathy arranged for an appointment and by 1 pm same day I was headed home ready for my Vacation without worry. The work was painless, professional and was the most pleasant experience I have ever had in a dentist office. That was a ROOT CANAL they did. No pain? Crazy stuff. He gave me 3 prescriptions just in case something flared up. They have not been needed so far. 6 Hours now since the treatment and no pain with 2 Advil just incase? He is one of the best.
