Fish is locally sourced and the service is amazing! The owner has and consistently gives back to the community which makes it even better!

Local gem! This small market has an incredible poke selection. As I'm making my way through my Maui…read morepoke tour, this was one of the spots recommended to me, and wow, it was good. The ahi had that soft, buttery texture you want, and the seasoning was on point. Service was quick and super polite. There wasn't much of a line when we went, and we got everything pretty quickly. What we got: Garlic Crispy Ahi - 9/10 Big fan of the texture and flavor. The ahi was super fresh and buttery with a nice garlic flavor. It needed just a little extra soy sauce for me, but other than that, so good! Limu Poke - 7/10 My sister actually preferred this one out of the two. Solid flavor and another great option. We got a half pound of each, and it came out to around $30 total. Definitely on the more expensive side for poke, but the quality made it worth it. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for fresh poke in Maui!

My wife (super picky when it comes to poke) and I loved it. We eat a lot of poke, and this ranks near the top of our list. The fish was super fresh with excellent texture and really hit the spot. We ordered 0.25 pounds of the Fresh Ahi Ninja and 0.75 pounds of the Fresh Ahi Tamura's Sauce. The Ninja had a slight kick in a good way and leaned more toward a shoyu flavor. The Tamura's was lighter but still had really good flavor. Our family loved both of them, and we killed both. We ate it with a bag of Hawaiian Chip Company Sweet Potato and Taro Chips from the nearby Costco, which was the perfect combo. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!!

I thought that the pansit was really good though. Lauya had a bitterness flavor due to the greens they used that was not to my liking but I know that some people do, but it was done well with the meat very soft and bones with marrow still there. Best part it's across the street from my office. :) highly recommend

Luckily I had an extra set of eyes helping me look lol. I've been following this store on Facebook and what got my need to come here was the fact that they are now selling ube butter mochi!!! Yay!!! The store rep was very pleasant and was quick to offer assistance! This store has so many different Asian products! Not to mention a wide variety of longanisa sausages, fish, meats, etc.... I was able to get what I came here for (ube butter mochi) and a few more items. Sad to say I did have to share with my husband haha... My only complaint is the butter mochi wasn't cut into pieces, it was just a really big slice placed in a plastic container. Hopefully they will be able to fix that, then again maybe it's not meant for sharing!!! Lol My overall experience here was great! So, if you are looking for a one stop Asian store this is it!!! And don't forget to try that ube butter mochi!!!

You can really taste the quality. One little detail I appreciate is that they dice the onions small, rather than the big chunks you get at a lot of other places. It makes for a better bite every time. They have a great variety too, with everything from spicy ahi to tako and shoyu options. Are they on the higher priced side? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes. This is a nice "treat yourself" kind of poke, and we will absolutely be back. If you are looking for quality fresh poke on Maui, give Kaohu Store a try.

It's definitely more of a convenient store than a restaurant. Everything is to-go only, there is definitely no seating available. Also, if you thought you wanted to eat in your car, don't plan on it, as there is a very explicit sign that says no eating, parking for 5 minutes only. Despite all these particular eating criteria, I enjoyed trying the various pokes! They have at least 10 different to choose from, that it was difficult choosing just two for my husband and I to try. I believe I got the Hawaiian Style, and also the Shoyu style. I liked the Shoyu one a bit better, for more sauciness and soy sauce added to the ahi. I also really liked how this place includes rice (huge win for eating right away!) and in a separate container! Well thought out!! Also credit cards are accepted. Great poke find quite close to the airport. Would recommend if you're starving coming off your flight, want something fast and easy, that you can enjoy instantly.

Even though we had the worst experience here we continue to shop here because they have what we need. Ever since then, this is the place I go because it is clean, lots of variety and single mom friendly prices. The have a plethora of fresh fish in large coolers on ice. When I say on ice, I mean on ice. NOT swimming in melted ice, but literally on ice. They have from opelus, mahi mahi, tilapia and more! I've been lucky to come across some fresh Moloka'i prawns here for a reasonable price. They also have a huge inventory of Filipino products from frozen to "fresh". I've gone here for some delicious longanisa, dilis (baby anchovies), vegetables and preserved items. Not to mention the Filipino desserts waiting at the check out counter enticing you to buy some for the drive home. I'm guilty of purchasing cascaron on a stick and wolfing it down as I'm driving out of the parking lot. On my last visit here I also see that they offer Western Union services too! Don't expect too much "friendly" service upon entry. It's really a self service market. But if you do need help finding anything, they'll assist you.
