It was my first time doing this form of colonic. I booked thinking it was the other form of colonic, on the pot, small insertion but it was a different type of system. I felt quite nervous about it, but went for it. The woman who did the colonic was professional. I felt very nauseous and uncomfortable to the point that I felt I couldn't do a full hour. I asked to do a half hour once I knew (which was about 10 minutes into it) ... she agreed that would be fine. I wanted to stop even earlier than 30 minutes, asking her to not put any more water in, but she wanted to finish the bucket, so I tried but couldn't complete it. Here's the reason for 3 stars: when we got to the checkout, she wanted to charge me full price ($175) for the half hour session versus half price: $87.50. I asked her why it would be full hour price for a half hour, and she said it was because I'm a new client. They charge previous clients $155, a difference of $20. She told me she could give me that price I stead, and I paid it, even though it didn't seem right or fair to me. At max, half the time should be half the price. I was not expecting the unique machine that they have-- I've actually never seen that before in any of the colonics I've done before and it's much more difficult, in my opinion, to experience. What they did right: belly massage during the colonic, minerals afterwards. The other places I've been to usually recolonize the flora that is lost through adding probiotics to the final water, but that wasn't the case here. I won't return not because the colonic wasn't productive, but because of the greed of not charging the price for the actual amount of time I did. For anyone's first time on something this difficult, a half hour session, and maybe even 15 minute session should be available. It's an extremely uncomfortable system they use. My appt was with Riza. The center is clean and inviting. I got there, completed the form, and we started immediately after. The process was gentle and quick. Riza was professional and friendly and made sure I was comfortable. Don't make plans after. Go home and rest. I slept for the first time in weeks after my session. I can't say enough good things about Maui Holistic garden center. Truly an amazing experience. I am not new to colonics and to internal cleansing. However, I have never had such an experience as I have had here. Deborah and her entire staff take care of you like you're part of their own family. This was my first colonic and one of the best experiences of my life. First I started with a 30 minute sauna to sweat out toxins from my skin. Then Deborah read my chart fully, and addressed every little thing, even making sure I was warm enough (I have temperature sensitivity). She started with foot reflexology and honed in on specific organs to target. Her body intuition is master level! She read my body so impressively, it was as if she read my mind. I have always wanted to get a colonic and what better time to get it than for my 30th birthday. I'm on Maui for work and was referred to this place from my moms masseuse. When booking, I chose Teresa and I'm so happy I did. I thought I was just going there to get a tube up my butt, lay there and watch whatever comes out but I got way more than that. Teresa is phenomenal. She explained the process and made me feel so comfortable. Her vibe is so welcoming and she's very intuitive. She massaged my stomach to help me release and in the meantime we had great conversations to distract me from the uncomfortableness that would occur during the session. I had been having problems with my left ear always popping and then feeling like the sound was muffled. I went to Maui Holistic Garden Center for an Ear Candling, my first one. I was really surprised by how much came out of my ears, as I frequently use a Q-tip to clean my ears. My ear hasn't popped since and I could feel my ear canal was clear like I never felt before. I advise watching your diet for two or three days before you see Deborah, as trying to follow her pre-colonic protocol beforehand, at least somewhat, makes a huge difference to the outcome--and when I say outcome, I mean it quite literally, that is, what comes out! EAR CANDLING: I had done ear candling once a long time ago and was unimpressed with the results, but I decided to give the process another shot and try a session with Deborah. I was pleased to discover that her method of ear candling was very effective. It was clear that what the candles drew out came from my ears rather than just being candle wax. The orange-amber residue exactly matched the color of what I had managed to get out of my ears in the past when using a Q-tip. I'm one of her endermologie clients and the way she takes the time to care for and educate her clients comes from a deep passion for what she does. I rarely, if ever, write reviews, but Deborah is a special individual that deserves more praise than I could possibly provide. For the past 17 years, I have traveled to different parts of the world (Africa, Central America, Asia) for my work in the development field. Needless to say, I have caught parasites, bacterial infections, candida, dengue fever, sinus infections and other illnesses. It has taken a real toll on my health, my mind and my spirit. For years, I went the traditional route - seeing doctors and infectious disease hospitals. They treated me with antibiotics, steroids and anti-inflammatory drugs. All of this made my symptoms worse and severely weakened my immune system. A few years ago, I discovered the wonderful world of colonic therapy. These started to make a drastic improvement in my health. I changed my diet and my lifestyle. I moved to Maui nearly a year ago and found Deborah after reading great reviews about her work. She is my 4th and absolute best colonic therapist I have had. I truly look up to her and admire her for her skills at getting to the root cause of illness. I don't know how to thank Debra for being the kind, nurturing person that she is. I have a very long history of stomach issues and I require hydrotherapy on a regular basis for my medical conditions. When I was anticipating my honeymoon to Hawaii - although I was so excited to leave NY to go to such a beautiful place with my new husband, I was also so nervous because I would be without a hydrotherapy session for two weeks. With that being said I went to Hawaii for my honeymoon and less then one week into my two week trip I was struggling completely. Desperate for any type of relief or help, I looked online for local hydrotherapy centers and came across the Maui Holistic Garden Center. I immediately called and left a message for Debra, and received a call back in less then 20 minutes. I spoke to Debra on the phone for a good 20 minutes about the history of my problem and my dire need to come in ASAP because I was on my honeymoon. At that time Debra apologized that she had no availability for me to come in but offered me suggestions on things I could do and assured me that she would put me on her waiting list and if anything opened up that she would get me in ASAP. She also told me she could make a colonic tea that could provide me with relief that I could pick up the next day at her office. At that point I was so grateful to have something I agreed and thanked her. The next day Debra contacted me and instead of me going to pick up the tea she offered to drop it off to my hotel. The fact that she was willing to do this for me was not only one of the nicest offers I ever received, but said so much about her as a person and her amazing customer service. That night Debra came to my hotel and met me in the lobby. She provided me with tea we had discussed and then even offered to work on my stomach a little. She spent two hours with me giving me massage therapy to help relieve some of my symptoms. She did it out of the kindness of her heart and I was so grateful that I became emotional because I was so appreciative that a person I didn't know was willing to help me the way that she did. At that time she also told me she would extend her hours the following day so I could come in for a hydrotherapy session. The next night - which was a FRIDAY - my husband and I went in and I received one of the best hydrotherapy sessions I have ever had before. Debra not only extended her long work day to accommodate me, but she spent more then two hours working with me and discussing possible solutions and answering all of my questions. What kind of person, let alone business does this and goes over and beyond like this for a customer? NOONE but Debra. Her knowledge, customer service, and her heart make her such an amazing person and by far an amazing company. Not only was this center a god sent to me - but Debra is an angel. She literally saved my honeymoon and I am so appreciative of her kindness and generosity. She is truly a beautiful person and I will forever be grateful to her.
