Not Healing--Negligent, Unprofessional, and Emotionally Harmful I've never left a negative review before, but this experience warrants one. Kevin and Shannon operate a business offering infrared sauna, PEMF, and cold plunge services out of the Wailea Healing Center. While it's marketed as a healing environment, what I experienced was serious disorganization, poor communication, and emotional volatility. I'm currently on a medical detox protocol, and regular sauna sessions are a critical part of my healing. After my first session with Kevin, he told me to coordinate payment and future scheduling through Shannon. I texted and called her multiple times--no response. Kevin continued to schedule me and eventually asked me to pay him $200 in cash, which I did. Shannon finally texted me and scheduled two sessions, but on the morning of the first, she canceled--saying it was Mother's Day, despite having booked it herself. I was polite, even though I had organized my day around that session. I then missed the next appointment--just one--after a lengthy medical treatment. I called Kevin to apologize and offered to pay. Instead of responding with empathy or professionalism, he launched into an intense and angry rant, accusing me of being difficult, blaming me for scheduling later in the day, and telling me not to book with him again. His tone was deeply unsettling and completely out of proportion. After that, I contacted Shannon again, but she ignored my text and voicemail, and Kevin made no effort to follow up or assist. Working with them wasn't healing--it was harmful and distressing. To be clear: this review is about Kevin and Shannon only. I met Rebecca, the owner of Wailea Healing Center, and she was lovely. Other services there may be worthwhile--but I strongly recommend avoiding Kevin and Shannon. read more

Super pretty scenery but I went in for a deep tissue massage and it was more of a guided body reiki thing and the masseuse was talking to me the whole time and asking me questions. She was super nice but it was definitely not a deep tissue massage. read more

Invited a couple of my friends to the dance event. The event was in the evening and My friend actually knew the guy who threw the event. He greeted us at the door and set up. Being a free spirit I enjoyed dancing to the own beat of my drum and it was dark inside with an awesome view. The second time was a women's event which I was apprehensive to attend. It was perfect in every way, and at a fraction of the cost of local resort spa treatments. I also have to highlight that the massage therapists here used lava stones more than once during the massage! Who does that?! Mitch knew exactly what it was I needed intuitively and was able to modulate his pressure and focus accordingly. I rarely am able to relax during massages but I felt at ease and trusted he really knew what he was doing. Heather was very attentive, asked for feedback and responded well. I had a group massage for my sister wedding, and I wanted the experience to go well so I tried my best to over look a few things, the owner had quoted me a price before my arrival to Hawaii, on the day of the massage she charges me more and doesn't even bother to tell me. I was trying to enjoy my time that I didn't notice until she tells me the amount. She had already done the service so I couldn't disagree but when I asked her she told me that she made a mistake and she apologized but still kept the price. It wasn't my mistake but I wanted to keep everything positive so I left but will never return. Don't trust what they tell you and make sure you know until the day how much they are charging you. Overall, I had a poor experience here. I booked an outdoor deep tissue massage. The staff tried to put me inside and I reminded them I booked and outdoor massage. My masseuse, Maria, complained that it was too hot outside, but ultimately agreed to do it outside. I asked her for more pressure multiple times during the massage and she was not capable of giving me a deep tissue. This is not her fault, but she should not have been assigned to give a deep tissue if she wasn't physically capable. Maria was also the only service personnel I encountered on Maui who wasn't wearing a mask. I'm immune compromised and asked her to wear one. She grumbled about it, but ultimately agreed to do so. It was clear to both her and the front desk staff that I had a negative experience. The manager called shortly after I'd left and offered a complimentary massage by someone they thought would be able to meet my needs. My first experience was so poor that I declined but appreciated the gesture. read more

It was really cool to hear the birds chirping and sounds of nature while getting a massage. Second- both massage therapists were really friendly. Good customer service feels really rare sometimes these days but both Rebecca and Beth were so nice and made us feel very comfortable Last but not lease- the massage was perfect. I used the appointment feature on Yelp to see if I could get a last minute same day massage appointment (If you haven't used this it's a huge time saver when you're looking to compare prices for the same service) everyone was booked up but Wailea Healing Center was able to squeeze us in for a couples massage! We were in Maui for our honeymoon and they happen to have a honeymoon package as well! They took us on a golf cart out on a hill overlooking the ocean this was honestly the best massage (and massage experience) that I have ever had. The massage therapists are highly experienced and both checked in with us periodically to make sure we were comfortable and if anything needed to be changed. We had Rebecca and Larue do our couples massage and we both left feeling unbelievably relaxed. I am pretty sure Larue has magic hands of gold, by far the best massage I have ever received. Rebecca worked on my partner and he had multiple issues wrong with his shoulder and neck that has been bothering him and Rebecca worked on him and really focused on what he needed. He left there feeling like a new person and better than he has felt in a long time. We truly enjoyed it so much we tried to fit another massage during our trip but time just wasn't available. I recently returned from Wailea after spending 12 days on the island. I visited Wailea Healing Center everyday and had a 90 minute deep tissue massage for 12 days in a row. I had a different masseuse everyday except for two. I can't talk highly enough about my experience. Everyone of the therapists are excellent, kind and professional. It is hard for me to pick a favorite. Not only did they take care of me, but they took care of my entire family. The atmosphere is comforting and everyone is happy and positive. They are a top notch organization, full of life, happiness and LOVE! There is not another place on the island I would check out because I have found my massage home here!
