WAY different vibe than different similar branded stores, in a good way! Everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable, and even though they didn't have what I was looking for this trip I will totally be back next time I have something in mind. They had popular brands like Yeti, Vuori, North Face, etc. and when I visited they had clothing items 25% off so I would call before going to ask if a specific item you are looking for may be on sale!

This is for the overall company. I joined their mailing list for line for the 15% discount and put…read morein an order for a high quality sleeping bag with a few other items. Order was cancelled the next day with no explanation. I called and a lady said that my billing address was wrong, so I made corrections and got the order going again. Order was cancelled again. I called my bank and they told me that Public Lands were cancelling it on their end, so I call the company again. A guy answer giving me the same reasons and I countered it with what the bank told me. He told me that if didn't matter because the addresses didn't match and I told him that I gave him the right one last time. I told him that I have a different card and was ready to give it, then he told me that I was breaking up and hung up on me. I called back one last time and told them that I'll do my business elsewhere and to take me off their mailing list. They shouldn't offer people a discount that they do not want me and honor!

The place is packed with merchandise from front to back and their all around selection is quite amazing. It's especially fun to take a look at the military surplus for sale. You can almost always find something you just got to have and surplus prices are quite reasonable. Firearms, archery equipment, ammo, even mens and womens clothing can be found. Selections in all these areas are decent. They even have a rather large footwear store attached with an overwhelming number of boot and outdoor wear choices. Last month I visited and was incredibly impressed that they actually had items in stock that no one else in the area can get. I went to 7 sporting good stores that weekend trying to find black powder for muzzleloaders. No one had any. I almost didn't even bother to ask when I got to Bobs but decided to try. Not only did they have it, they had all kinds and a fair amount of each. I'm not sure how they get it when no one else can, but they seem like the go to place for the unusual and hard to find. Check them out next time you are in Clearfield.

They carry something for the whole family, even the dogs! Highly recommend stopping in before your next adventure or just to browse around. They have many weekly and monthly events for the community. A fire pit out front that makes a great hangout spot to eat and grab a bottle from next door. They host film fests and special annual events like a chili cook off, 5 points adventure film fest, a gear swap and so much more!

They sell both new and used outdoor equipment, as well as maintain a calendar of various community events that people can and should take advantage of. On their website the group talks about being particularly focused on helping Pittsburgh climbers, hikers, bikers, runners, campers, paddlers, and "outdoor adventure lovers." Obviously that last bit is pretty general, but I find the statement helpful overall since it does a great job of summarizing what kinds of gear you'll find at their shop. No matter your experience level, you're welcome here, as the staff want to help people of all experience levels explore and access different outdoor activities. In other words: this is the perfect place to browse and ask questions that can help you best prepare for your next/new adventure. In addition to operating a storefront, the 3 Rivers staff also regularly coordinate outdoor events and activities that people can sign up for. Naturally some activities are more seasonal than others (looking at you, kayaking!). Others happen year-round, including monthly night hikes in Frick Park. It's a shame this shop is currently so far out of my way, because if I was closer I'd probably stop in more often, even if only to take advantage of their community fireside hours. Still, it's great that they're here in the city at all - and it just makes my rare visits that much more delightful and special!
