We went with Maverick to repair storm damage to our fence after our insurance company sent them out to do a second estimate. Since they were the recommended vendor from my insurance company, I figured that would be better and easier for everyone. Overall, they replaced what we lost with essentially a new version of what we had. There were no frills. The fence does the job -- it keeps our dogs in the yard. But I did feel like our experience could have been better, particularly when it comes to communication. First, after doing the initial estimate, we notified both Maverick and our insurance company that we'd be going with them. And after that, it took several weeks for us to get on their calendar and get the work actually done. OK, I understood that since we were not the only ones in the area with storm damage and all the companies we called said they were very busy. But then once the job window approached, we couldn't get any real clarity on when they would do the work. First it was Thursday and Friday, then it was Friday and Monday, then Monday and Tuesday. This was a bit of an issue because I felt very strongly that someone ought to be at home if we had people working in our yard. So I had to constantly rearrange my work schedule as Maverick's schedule shifted. Then the work finally started. On day one, the crew showed up, removed the damaged fence, dug up all the bases of the posts and poured new concrete. I didn't have many issues on day one. But on day two it happened to rain. There was no phone call, email or even text to let us know what was happening. I didn't know if they intended to come, not come, etc. and again was trying to juggle work with staying at home. I stayed at home all morning and just waited. Around noon, even though it was pouring rain still, the crew showed back up unannounced and continued to work. They did finish the job that day. One thing on the plus side that I did appreciate was that they put down some grass seed over the area they had to dig up and that has taken nicely in the time since then. Generally speaking, the fence is fine. But my issue really was the communication. In addition to the items mentioned above, when the work was completed the crew just packed up and left. No one came to the door to say they were done or ask me to come review the work. Nor did they provide any information about how we were supposed to be invoiced or pay the bill. They just left. We received no follow up call, email or anything. Weeks later we received a request for us to sign the check from our insurance company and an invoice for the remaining balance due. But absolutely zero communication between when the job was done and receiving the invoice. I did, however, receive an emailed statement reflecting a zero balance after I mailed in payment, per my request. So overall OK but I can't say I felt like I was well taken care of or that the company was trying to keep us in the loop at all. At least for me, that's a big deal, and I was definitely disappointed. read more

I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before working with Maverick (lack of communication is spot on). I am also shocked that my insurer has them as a preferred contractor given the fact that their work quality required complete attention to progression of the project and updates from work being done were honestly embarrassing/laughable. Literally pages of things that went wrong and are too lengthy for a yelp review. I consider myself a fair person and am always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, but in truth: Their management is horrendous, their quality is sub par, and the headaches from having to micromanage so that things are done right are frustrating beyond belief (literally is like adding a full-time job to one's life). What was supposed to be an 8 week project after a house fire is still going on to this day (six months later). If 0 stars was an option, that would be their rating. read more

The initial response was fine, but two months later, work has still not begun, and I was told that I'd be better off going somewhere else. The people running this operation are a joke. Absolutely horrible service and no communication. Promised to be back to fix water leak damage. Returned one phone call and Greg said he planned to be out and would be in touch. After multiple phone calls and text, never hear from him. I wasted several weeks where I could have had the work completed. They were a "preferred contractor" by Liberty Mutual. This company gets a 0 rating from roofing job. Our insurance company recommended Maverick Construction who we thought was reputable company because Nationwide told us that is who had to use. They brought only one sample of the roofing product and left it at our house for months. My husband and I wanted to have a front door replaced and they said look online for samples. I called to have them come out to measure door and windows to make the job more profitable for them and they said they were not available evenings or weekends so my husband could look at samples(if they even have any--I can't buy a 1,000 door without seeing some sort of product not online) . We I asked for anything after 5pm (because people work during the day and aren't home).. the man said "Nope" asked for another time "Nope" in a drawn out voice. I am a business owner and I NEVER treat clients like this or I would not have any. After this I was done. We scraped the door and windows(3) and wanted the roof done asap. We called we left messages in early spring and we were promised we would be one of the first jobs. You have to call them. They don't communicate and if you do talk to them they are disrespectful. Our inspector in Apple Valley required photos of the project of the sky lights which they did not do the day of the install and they had to rip the roof off and redo the sky lights just to get pictures weeks later. The workman came in and did the job and I don't have issues with them only the management of this company. I will never use this company again and would not recommend for anyone to use them in the future. read more

Maverick Construction Inc. from Hanover, MN did a reconstruction job of my home basement after a disaster with water during a loss of electrical power during a heavy rain storm. The basement was flooded with water & after mitigation sign off, Maverick construction crews took over and completely rebuilt my basement. They were very professional & helpful during each phase of construction. My basement is & looks better than it did before the water damage! I would recommend them for any kind of construction work in your home. They were thorough & quick to finish the job. read more
