I really wanted to like this place, I'm a local and am always looking for a new spot to enjoy a meal in the summer. When I got the menu I was surprised to find that the only options are really just burgers and salads. I ordered an appetizer of mac and cheese bites which were honestly good, but not restaurant quality (could've been kraft mac and cheese, let's be real) and the price was 5 dollars.... for 6 small pieces. They were good, but not for a dollar a piece. My friend and I ordered burgers, which were top notch but when you have to wait so long and pay for an overpriced burger, the excitement fades. For my sister, she ordered a salad with grilled chicken , which she seemed to enjoy but her takeaway in the end was "too much lettuce, not enough chicken" ...... in my opinion that's a little sad considering you had to pay an extra four dollars for the chicken. Overall, disappointed, overpriced, and still looking for that special spot. read more

Me and my dad were skeptical when seeing the previous terrible reviews, but we were hungry and didn't want seafood so this was our only option upon arriving we were quickly seated by a gentleman(the owner I think) and took our drink order instantly. We then looked over the menu a little on the higher side but what isn't these days, my dad order the cheese burger medium rare which actually came out "juicy, medium rare and lots of taste", I ordered the chicken tenders cause I've been let down on cheese burgers recently, they came out "warm, juicy, thick breading pro or con" . The gentleman was very attentive we got refills without having to ask. Overall a good and surprisingly experience. The mystery of the bad reviews.... On Saturday, July 20, 2019, my family had a late dinner at Maverick's Pointe. There were 7 of us. Our order was 3 Makin the Bacon Cheeseburger, one The Philly with no bun, one Wicked Wings with BBQ, and one fried cod. We were all very pleased with our meals. The fries were fabulous! I ordered The Philly with no bun because I am allergic to wheat. The waitress was happy to accommodate my request. We enjoyed the music as well played by two fellows with guitars. We have a home here and Maverick's is our go to place for when we roll into town or just want a quick lunch or a beer. The food is simple, but reliably good. The burgers are among the best in the area. Table service can be spotty, but that's true of many places in the area given the very limited talent pool from which to choose. Mavericks has one of the best beer selections around and Beau and Connie at the bar are fabulous. They really take care of the locals, which we appreciate! Live music here can be problematic. Not only the quality of some performers, but the venue is too small for most of the "louder" artists. Works well for solo/acoustic performances. Overall , Maverick's is a solid addition to the local bar/food scene. read more

This is probably the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. We have visited her quite a few times service has never been great but this last time this past weekend 5/25/19 was the worst. We were seated near the windows in the back and there were flys everywhere at the windows. We asked to be moved and we were across from the windows. Another couple came in and seated at the windows same area. They also asked to be moved because of the flys. A worker was sent out to kill the flys with an electric fly swap which he did while we were having our meal so you could hear all the flys being zapped. Never bothered to clean them up just left the dead ones there. If the dining area is this way I can only imagine what the kitchen is like!!!! read more

Second time here. First time we sat at the bar and had drinks. Tonight we came in for dinner and were "greeted" by our server (Chelsea) who scowled at us as we sat down. When she did approach the table she said "do you know what you want"? and made our table feel that we were inconveniencing her. No hi, welcome, have you been here before. I hate to leave a bad review but damn. I didn't know we were putting the server out by stopping in to spend money. We asked to have our wings come out first and watched as the tables around us arrived 30 minutes after us received their items. We finally asked the bartender if she was willing to check on our order as our server never checked back on us. The bartender apologized, was super nice, went out of her way to check back with us and was the person that received our $20 tip. Please get hospitable servers before summer time. read more

If I could give it zero stars that would still be too high. Went there with my family and friends. After an hour wait, the food came out with the exception of my wife's and I. The group extremely slowly ate their meal, as they all felt guilty for eating in front of us. The entire table was finished with their meal and ours still hadn't arrived. At this point, I was extremely frustrated and told them to cancel our order. The only thing that was done to attempt to make it right was they did not charge us for the two meals that never came. I have never written a review for any restaurant experience I have ever had, but felt it was necessary in this case. Extremely disappointed in the service I received and will never return. The owners and their son all knew of the situation and did nothing to make it right. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone after the experience that I had read more

Absolutely poor service and barely mediocre food. Only able to leave 1 star where zero or negative stars would be more appropriate. Should you ignore my warning, expect to pay 5.99 for stale chips and a container of cheese whizz impersonating nachos. Adding a few ounces of canned chili, will cost you another 3.00. When we mentioned to a local store owner, she confirmed this was an unwise choice and much better accommodations were available nearby. Don't do it unless you want to take your chance on medicore food and service! It's a literal toss up as to what you will get (just look at the other reviews). We have spent over a decade coming to this restaurant no matter what the ownership, but last year at MP was our last. I left feedback on FB and instead of having an owner or manager respond and resolve the issue I was attacked and called a liar. They will never admit that their staff is in the wrong and they are unprofessional at best letting their bartender handle thier issues on social media. This place is way too expensive and they add almost a 20% gratitude fee automatically to the bill if there are over 5 people in a group. We had 4 adults and 1 child and they still charged that fee. A shrimp cocktail is $16.99 and only comes with 5 little shrimp. They said they were out of most things on the menu which is already limited. Not good at all. read more

We went on a Tuesday night around 6pm. As we walked in, there were two parties already seated and a few people at the bar. There was one waitress and a man standing behind the bars (who we think was a manager). He yelled over "how many in your party". We ask to sit over by the bar and the man blew us off and sat us away from the bar section. We were seated with another party and the waitress seemed irritated. There were about 5 other parties that arrived after us. They are not greeting and two parties actually got up and left after not receiving any service. The poor waitress received no help from the man behind the bar and he could have easily helped her out. As for the food, we ordered three burgers. The food came out and the burgers were good and warm. The fries were a little cold, but overall the burgers were good. As locals here, we decided to give the restaurant a shot, but I doubt we will return. read more

The restaurant is a very cozy place with a good vib and nice seating options however the menu was extremely small and they did not have some of the things on the small menu. The service was good and the food came out fast but it most likely was fast because everything was deep fried. When we arrived at this restaurant, we were hopeful seeing the many cars in the parking lot that we were going to be served a good meal. At least with our visit, it did appear that they had sufficient wait staff. The menu prices weren't cheap, so another reason to expect a good meal. The wait was ridiculous, we were told by our server that our food was about to be plated. Unfortunately, after about 20 minutes waiting for our food to be plated, the food was delivered, cold. Wow we just left this restaurant. After being told one of the meals we ordered would be taken off our bill it was still on my receipt so our waitress went to the owner to get it taken off and he basically come unglued on his employee and then carried out to us the customers. I was told that they can't just give food away and that they are trying to stay open. I said sir I never asked for the meal to be given to me for free that it was offered. The owner went way over on this one! I use reviews every time I'm out of town to decide where our family will stop to eat. Trust me when I say this will not be on our stops anymore. Parking lot was empty which should've been sign 1 then sign 2 we were told they lost all of their cooks which now makes sense. To top it all off he told his employee who was our waiter to shut up! His employee was trying to explain to him why the bill was incorrect. I have never seen an owner come out and approach customers this way! Awful!! And awful to treat his employees like that. We were looking for a good burger and place to chill for a little bit, and local business owner suggested this place. Great call!! Ice cold beverages, and the burgers and chips were fantastic. Nice relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent. So, a great beach stop restaurant / sports bar that I would highly recommend. That is unless you're more accustomed to, and prefer a pampering overpriced fern bar fu fu restaurant. We'll be back for sure! read more
