Sat at the bar for a quick bite and a drink as we were just going to roam around Barefoot landing and eat and drink at other places. Drink orders were easy and I opted for a specialty drink. Ordered the new Crab Bruchetta. It came out quickly.. But is that always a good thing. This time it wasn't. Food didn't live up to what was described on the menu. Im not going to bash these guys, I am a local and we voiced our concerns. They quickly took it away and offered us a new one. I was going to say no thank you as I was reluctant now, but I said yes. The new version took a while longer which I was actually ok with. Manager brought it out and we smashed the whole thing. WAY better the 2nd time. Other issue: female bartender, Monday night working the bar. Mascara on with white accents, about 40 and 5ft6. She had her fingers inside the drinking glasses prior to making the drinks. I watched her carry 4 glasses with ice, with her fingers touching the ice, make drinks in them and serve them. This is restaurant knowledge 101. Basic principles and common sanitary practices. She didn't make our drinks thankfully.

The restaurant is beautiful- and we even went upstairs to see the Christmas decorations. There is outdoor/indoor dining ( not sure if the upstairs is bar only). The view of the waterway at dusk is utterly beautiful and relaxing. We had Henry Cho tickets at the Alabama Theater at 7. We gave ourselves 2 hours before the show to enjoy dinner. Our server Sage was fun and entertaining. The menu is rather small, catering to island fare. I had the pulled pork cooked in Hawaiian style with grilled pineapple. Not as pretty as the menu photos but was delicious. My hubby had the fish sandwich. I also had a mocktail- no pain- it was delicious too. Since we had time we also enjoyed the coconut cake. That was a nice treat not too sweet. But again it did not look like the picture. Everything was great for us my only thought is that the pictures should look like what you actually get. Do go and enjoy a cocktail or mocktail- enjoy the view and ambience.

Our very first stop to start our SC vacation! There was a large group of us (9), when we got there Saturday afternoon, and the wait wasn't too long to be seated. Luckily there is an outside bar that we could use while we waited. The beers were good (a lot of locals on tap) and the views were absolutely stunning. There is a waterway behind the restaurant and what looks to be like a marina. HUGE boats. Made me feel quite poor actually (LOL). The interior decor was beachy and lovely without being kitschy. Our waitress was great and brought out our food and drinks quickly and correctly. The crab hushpuppies were AMAZING but the empanadas fell a little flat with me...too much dough (or cornmeal I guess.) This is a great place in Barefoot Landing where you can walk around, have some drinks, a good meal, and watch some beautiful boats. You should check it out!

Brunch that feels like you're on an island getaway vacation but in Myrtle Beach ! The Big Chill Island house restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, waterfront at Barefoot Landing, and has an amazing menu. If you haven't not visited yet this is your sign to get over there for brunch! We tried: - The Hemingway Cocktail - Espresso Martini - Big Kahuna Breakfast (kalua pork, fried egg, avocado, purple sweet potato hash, herb aioli, jalapeño, onions, red peppers, cilantro) - Belgian Waffles with Purple Sweet Potato Hash - Island House Lobster Roll with Fries

Let me start this review by saying the ONLY reason I'm giving this three stars is because our server Abby A. was phenomenal! We had a reservation for 6:45 pm and arrived a little after 6:30. Almost everyone in the group went to the bar to wait and was told someone would come for them when the table was ready. I stopped in another store on the way in to the restaurant, so I was a few minutes behind. When I came in, I told the hostess that I'm meeting the rest of my party who is potentially already seated, if she could direct me to where. I gave her the name it was under, and she said they weren't checked in yet. I thought it was strange, but it was almost 6:45 and thought we should still be fine. I texted them to let them know what I was told-they DID check in, so I told the hostess I would wait until the table was ready with her so I could let the rest of my party know. I waited until 7:00 and asked her if we were still waiting for a table or if they were waiting for the rest of my party to come out front and she said she would go check. She came back and said that there still wasn't a table ready and we'd have to wait about 15 more minutes. I joined the rest of my group and went back up front since no one came to get us and asked again. We are now approaching an hour past our reservation and she had seated several other big groups one of which specifically told me they did not have a reservation. I got a little frustrated and let it be known and we were finally seated right about 7:45. If it wasn't for the fact that we had two small children with us that were losing their mind, I would've been fine, even if I was annoyed. When we were finally seated, we were fortunately greeted with a wonderful server, Abby A. I was not overly thrilled with the choices of food on the menu, but we had 6 adults and everyone found something and they were all famished, so I couldn't get many pictures. We ordered the street corn dip (delicious), crab hushpuppies (probably would have been really good had they not been so overcooked/on the verge of burnt) and island fries (I didn't try because 2 of the adults were tearing from the peppers) As for entrees, I settled for the steak skewers, which were well cooked, and tasted OK. I opted to get asparagus instead of the broccolini, but it was WAY overcooked, flavorless, and soggy. I wish I thought to ask for some other than fries because the 2 I tried weren't worth eating. Others ordered chicken peanut mango salad (good), Hawaiian Kalua pork (enjoyed), Capera Island salmon (done well), low country pasta added shrimp (shrimp was cooked nicely), and hamburger kids meal...thinner that McDonald's! She didn't even want to eat the burger "slice". The food was decent, but not nearly good enough for me to ever go back after waiting over an hour our time for a reservation that was made over a week ago without any apologies or even checking in on us. If I hadn't kept checking back, I don't think we would've been seated for a while. I could've spent about $400 somewhere else and had better food and treated with more respect while waiting for our LATE reservation.

I love, love, love the ambience of the joint. I love the music, the decor and it's right on the water and beautiful. Our server, Brooklyn, was friendly and fun and good at her job. Great server. I loved my lobster roll, very refreshing and not a crazy price. We also loved the chicken platter and sandwich. These I recommend, 4 out of 5. The shrimp empanadas... these I do not recommend, 1/5. Very doughy, no flavor. The cocktails are also 4 out of 5. I only had the dark and stormy but saw quite a few being served and they look well made and presented. Overall, great place.

Starters: Empanadas, Caesar salad, steak skewer plate, lobster roll plate, Pineapple Mocktail , and a Lemon Mocktail.

My girlfriend and I had dinner at The Big Chill House in Myrtle Beach on Friday, September 5th 9:00PM. The views were amazing, the food was excellent and our server Sydney was fantastic very attentive and caring throughout the night. The only issue was the host. From the start, he seemed annoyed when I asked for a dining table instead of bar seating. He grabbed the menus, said a dismissive "yeah," walked us outside and tossed the menus on the table without a word. His demeanor came across as rude and unwelcoming. If I wanted that kind of service, I would've gone to Dick's Last Resort across the shopping center. Aside from that we had a great evening and would recommend this spot for the food, atmosphere, and great servers like Sydney.

We made a reservation so we were sat down quickly upstairs. Unfortunately under a fan that made it too cold and they would not turn it down or off. It's a nice place right on the water, nicely decorated and beautiful views on the water. Our server was quick. We ordered salad and after they brought it out they stated they did not have all the ingredients for it. Would've been nice to know ahead of time. The food was mediocre. The shrimp on anything is not grilled at all and lacked any flavor. The servings were big. The poke fries had zero taste as well as the crab hush puppies. Only because you can see the crab in it did you know crab was invited. The kahula pork sliders should not be named that because they tasted no where near it, more like a vinegar bbq. Then they put dried brown cabbage with it like someone would it eat. The corn and the crab dip with crackers were what helped this get to 3 stars Too many choices in MB to settle for this

We were visiting friends in Myrtle beach and this was right down the road. They recommended, so we stopped in for a couple cocktails before our Christmas party. 10/10 vibes. It was magical. Every room and patio that we went to were so cutely decorated and just so cool. We ordered a couple cocktails and everything on the seasonal menu ended up being delicious. Great hostesses and bar staff. Can't wait to come back!

I had a wonderful experience here on July 4th. We sat on the lower deck outside overlooking the marina for dinner. We were able to watch the sun set and boats pass by as we waited for the fireworks. I got the lobster roll and the pulled pork sandwich. They had a lot of items on the menu that had an Asian fusion. Cocktails were also decent here. Great service even though it was a busy time!

This place is incredibly aesthetic, nice spot by the water. The service was exceptional, especially considering how busy it was. We weren't amazed by the food or cocktails, especially for the price, but they were okay!

Since it was my father's last night in North Myrtle Beach until September I thought it would be a great place to have our last dinner together for a while. I dialed up my app and made a 7PM reservation for three. We pulled in about 6:50 and found a spot right in front of the restaurant...it was going to be a good night. We got inside and chose to sit indoors near the bar. My father likes to see people and I felt this would be a good spot to do this and it was. The restaurant was mid century modern in design, airy and uncluttered...we were seated in a booth - chair combo that was a rendition of that style. We looked at the drink menu and my father went for a glass of Pinot Noir, his friend went for a lemon drop martini and I went for a Heineken 00. The waitress couldn't be nicer and quickly brought us our drinks. The lemon drop was perfect and served in an ice cold steel martini glass while my father was quite happy with his California Pinot. We reviewed the food menu and decided to share two "tables"...the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese dip with home made pork rinds. Within a few minutes, four deviled eggs arrived dressed up with a slice of jalapeño and sprinkled with bacon bits. A large plate of fresh pork rinds with homemade pimento cheese came out simultaneously. The deviled eggs were excellent with just the right texture and not too moist...the bacon bits added another layer of flavor and the jalapeño gave it a nice kick, however, the pork rinds and pimento cheese stole the show. The rinds were light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch and the pimento cheese was superb...very flavorful with nice chunks of pimento and grated cheese. My father was diving in on the cheese so fast it was tough to get some. His lady friend also commented on how good it was. Next came the mains. My father settled in the American Waygu Burger with hand cut fries, I went for the lamb rack with string beans and roasted fingerling potatoes and the lady went for the Arugula salad with candied pecans, Granny Smith apples , goat cheese and craisins. My lamb was excellent...medium rare with a nice flavorful crust with a hint of garlic and herbs. The potatoes were well roasted and tasty while the string beans were cooked correctly but a tad bland. The arugula salad was delicious with a nice citrus dressing that played well with the candied pecans and craisins...the smith apples was a nice contrast. My father in the other hand, ate way too much pimento cheese and rinds and as a result just picked in his fries, which were excellent...salted well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. He ended up taking the burger home. Amazingly, when dessert was brought up he was all in. Although known for their "Butter Cake" we decided to share(and by share I mean my father had about 90% of it) the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. Turns out it's as good as it sounds...intense chocolate flavor in a very moist cake with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream on the side...top notch. Sadly, it was getting late and my father had an early plane to catch so we got the bill(more reasonable than I expected), tipped the excellent waitress and said our good nights. We made plans to come back in September...although I'll be back well before that...Bar 19 Twelve will be going on my rotation.

We each picked a couple items, and at first I was skeptical about how well such a mixed menu would come together. That skepticism didn't last long. What's impressive is how they manage to cover different cuisines and still execute them well. The shishito peppers came perfectly grilled and paired with an amazing sauce that really elevated them beyond a typical appetizer. The meatballs felt like something straight out of a family kitchen comforting, rich, and reminiscent of grandma-style cooking. The shrimp scampi was another standout: flavorful, well-balanced, and not overdone with butter or garlic. But the real highlight of the night was the pistachio espresso martini so smooth, creative, and easily one of the most memorable cocktails on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot for sharing plates and trying a little bit of everything. It turns what could feel like a scattered menu into a fun, consistently solid dining experience.
