By the time I reached Wyoming my engine had a code and was barely running. I took it to an auto mechanic and after 8 hours of troubleshooting every component on the engine, the fuel was examined and was found to be a yellow, cloudy, nasty looking liquid that appeared to be phase separated ethanol full of water and other impurities. I spent the next day cleaning my fuel system before the engine would run properly. My autoshop bill was $960 plus nearly $100 in fuel cleaners, not to mention the major frustration of being stranded for two days with no ability to travel. I have never had problems with Shell fuel until this and I can say I have never been so disappointed and frustrated with such poor fuel as I received from this station.

The next morning, my car battery died at the gas station while in Fruita on vacation. Luckily, I was able to make it over to NAPA. Their location is very convenient in downtown Fruita next to City Market. David diagnosed that my battery needed to be replaced immediately and was able to install a new battery and have me back on the road in less than twenty minutes. He was friendly, helpful, confident and thorough. After this experience, I have been reconsidering my AAA membership after the three hours I spent waiting for them the day before and misdiagnosis.
