Baby back ribs plate with mac and cheese and potato salad.

Perfect road trip lunch. We ordered the brisket and baby back ribs lunch plates with two sides and it was well worth it!! We love the onion rings and the potato salad. Their sauces are delicious. Service is excellent!

We usually go to the North ave location and I know why. Yes is was a to go order but the only thing that was warm were the baked potatoes and side of beans. The full rack of ribs looked like the pig was on a diet. We will be sure to drive further for better service. The brisket and turkey were very dry and the bbq sauce was really spicy.

Had the baby back ribs and smoked sausage, baked beans and potato all was ok. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was good also. Service was very good our server was very polite and was very attentive without smothering us. Gradual decline in the food or maybe it was an off night but still decent food.

Rib City is off the main road in Fruita on the way to Colorado National Monument. It is in a small strip mall behind the parking area for the Colorado Welcome Center. They seem to have a pretty steady business both with indoor dining and take out orders. I ordered a turkey dinner with beans and macaroni and cheese. It comes with Texas toast. I really enjoyed the sweet and the hot sauces. The only thing I wish they had was cornbread. I prefer that to a garlicky toast when I eat BBQ. Their baked beans were absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back again-even just for those beans!

Another stellar meal. Grub to go. Again landed on Wednesday wing night. Idk why I can't remember wing night. Service to go was waiting on my arrival. Hostess double checked the order and away I went.

Absolutely amazing food and amazing service! The ranch and desserts here are still unbeatable, and the size is huge for the price. The new owner Nick made sure our food was perfect and the experience was memorable. Definitely will be coming back

Food was okay, meat a little too dry and overdone. Not really anything special. Also, ordered a bloody mary which was extremely weak.

Ribs and brisket were bone dry and flavorless. Sides okay. Would be hard pressed to recommend to anyone, let alone ever order again.

The order is the Brisket Sandwich!…read more My husband (a born and raised Texan) was craving BBQ on our way home from Moab. After a quick Yelp search, I found Smokey Bonez BBQ food truck. After a quick visit to their Instagram, I found their location. Next thing you know, two croc wearing travelers are walking into a Cattle Auction! The truck was easy to spot: bright orange! They had a menu of classic items, although a local told us they change it up. My eyes went for the Burnt Ends, while my husband ordered the Brisket Sandwich. I hate to say there was a winner of the two, but there was. The Brisket Sandwich was piled high with the perfect combination of lean and fatty brisket. It just melted in your mouth! There may have been a battle over who got the last bite haha. :D Luckily, we got the same side of Potato Salad. Although, I should have challenged my husband for the last bite of his, as well. It was absolutely delicious! Beyond the great BBQ, the owner of the truck and his family were ultra friendly and kind. It made us feel like we were back in TX for a moment. Everything you want in a BBQ experience. If you ever randomly spot the bright orange Smokey Bonez BBQ truck, GO!

They kept closing the window so I had no way to speak to anyone about it. The food was just terrible. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and there was so much grease that 2 minutes after getting my order the bottom bun was soaked and I couldn't pick it up. The meat was flavorless except for a hint of smoke and lots of grease. The beans were so overly smoky flavored that it tasted fake, like liquid smoke and literally were so bad and overpowering that I had to spit them out and drink half a coke to rid my tongue of the flavor. The only good thing about it was the potato salad, but it's pretty hard to get that wrong. They definitely shouldn't call this Authentic Texas BBQ- Texans would be aghast at this correlation.

Once we're seated, we waited 10 mins for someone to take our drink order (a soda and a beer), 10 mins to get our drinks, then she couldn't take our food order, waited 10 mins to order our food... and we were the only table in the joint. LITERALLY. I ordered a 10 oz ribeye medium rare and it came well done (maybe med well? See pic) and a quarter inch thick... 10oz size questionable. Also notice how all of my sides were eaten but the steak is still on the plate... yeah she didn't check to see how our food was until we flagged her down like sailors in distress. The waitress informed me that they cut all their ribeyes that thin and if I got another ribeye, it would be 1/4 inch thick also, so I didn't order another. My friend's filet was blue rare (raw but seared on edges) but ordered medium rare and the waitress didn't offer to cook it more but instead blamed it on having a new cook. Took Kirsten 10 mins to get me a menu. When Kirsten finally found the time to come by our table to have me order a replacement, my friend finished her dinner already. I got the cowboy chili with cornbread. The chili was lukewarm if I am being generous- they could've just microwaved it like wtf how do you serve lukewarm/room temp chili if you have a microwave??? The cornbread was dry and crumbled into a million pieces. The service was the worst and least attentive I've had in maybe ten years probably my entire life. It was almost like we were in a comedy skit except it wasn't funny. I will never ever ever go back. Texas Roadhouse is way better which is just sad. I did notice an employee eating a big beautiful steak while she closed out her shift, I asked what cut and she said a ribeye. So I guess they cut the 1-1.5 inch thick cuts for employee steaks and customers get ribeyes a 1/4 inch thin cooked into shoe leather. Pro tip: go to Strayhorn. Rumor is cattleman's doesn't even use local beef anymore, they just cosplay ranch life so you get to eat a low quality steak with the comforting smell of cow poo.

I rarely order brisket, fearing choking on dry meat. But - this is a whole different thing. The flavor is there and it is fine by the slice or on a sandwich. The Santa Maria tri-tip is also tender and juicy and tastes so beefy. This feels like eating a steak. I never expected to like turkey legs - but I do love these. Good smoke flavor. It need no sauce (though if you are going to use sauce - try the wasabi!). This is a great food when you don't have a table or want to use a fork. The chicken thighs are also good, though I do take off the skin - it isn't crisp and I don't actually like poultry skin even if it is crisp. Ribs are also fall-off-the-bone tender and gently sweet and tangy from th glaze. I love the coleslaw here - it isn't too thinly cut so it stays crisp. This is in a lightly creamy sauce and is just the type of slaw that makes pulled pork sing! Tamales are really nice - filled with plenty of meat. These have just the right amount of masa. They aren't always available, so get them when you see them!
