So listen, this is a five star review that is weighted heavily on everyone acknowledging that this…read moreis a fast food restaurant and that I am judging based on fast food criteria. Comparing it to a local restaurant would be unfair, so I'm only comparing it to other McDonalds. That said, this is one of the best McDonalds that I have the pleasure of eating at frequently. They almost always get my order exactly right and when they don't, they're quick to fix whatever is missing. The people who work here are extremely friendly and super willing to take care of their customers. One of the guys who works here will literally regularly SPRINT outside to bring you your food if the lines are long, making sure you're not waiting too long. I've never had any problems with cleanliness or overflowing trash like some of the other reviews mention. It might have been a fluke when they came in--this is the only fast food restaurant we have in the Silver Valley (unless you count Subway, which I really don't.) That does mean this McDonalds is a hot spot for every school bus coming through, or caravan, and I've heard that it's not unusual for them to receive orders of 100+ items at a time. They're conveniently located right off the highway and right next to a gas station if you needed a top off. I know no one goes to a McDonalds for the stunning view, but I will say that the parking lot has a wonderful vantage of Silver Mountain and there's something magical and a little silly about slamming back a Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit while watching the morning fog roll off the mountain all lit up in gold from the rising sun. You gotta appreciate beauty everywhere, even in unlikely places. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you'll even get to watch some local wild turkeys argue with some local wild crows about who gets to finish off your fries.

We were unsure whether to seat ourselves or not, and there was no sign saying either way. We stood there for a few minutes, and all 3 people working there ignored us. I finally went and asked if we could sit anywhere, and she said yes. The waitress who took our order was very friendly. It took awhile for her to come take our order, and we waited quite awhile for our food. But, again, they were very busy, so understandable. But, the food was hot when it came out and very good! I had the Country Bowl, and my only complaint was that it had a little too much ham, so was a little too salty. It had more meat than hashbrowns. But overall, it was pretty good. My husband had the country fried steak breakfast and said it was very good. And the portions are big! I would eat there again, and try something different next time.

We took a brownie with a chocolate caramel fudge, and a slice of cheesecake with Huckleberry sauce to go. Sweet American decor although since we live in OK I didn't understand the Route 66 regalia so far from the route. Absolutely recommend! If we go back through Idaho I have to try the giant cinnamon bun!

I don't say this lightly: this might be **the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had in my life**…read more From the moment it came out, you could smell the sizzling steak and melted cheese before even taking the first bite. The bread was perfectly toasted on the outside but still soft and pillowy inside, holding everything together without falling apart. The steak was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, chopped just right so every bite had the perfect balance of meat, cheese, and bread. And the cheese... perfectly melted into the steak so it coated every bite instead of just sitting on top. That first bite was one of those moments where you pause for a second because it's just *that good*. By the halfway point I was already thinking about when I could come back for another one. I love "Mom" who is always friendly and fun to talk to while waiting. Please keep in mind each sandwich is made to order so please anticipate a little wait BUT WORTH EVERY minute of it. If you're a Philly cheesesteak fan, this place is absolutely worth the trip. Bold statement, but this sandwich sets the bar.

4.16.26: First time here and came for lunch right as they opened. My roommate is a Philly cheese…read moresteak lover and after some quick research, I found this place nearby. Of course, he went with the classic cheese steak to see what their original was like before delving into the other specialty ones they offer. I ordered the Dirty Hippie, which has no meat--double portions of both mushrooms and grilled onions, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and ranch on a fresh baked roll. For my sweet tooth, I also got a "Pop's brownie." The Dirty Hippie to me tasted pretty much like a cheese steak, but with no meat. So, they did do a good job of mimicking a real cheese steak. It was super hot, cheese was melted, and definitely noticed the double portion of veggies. The grilled onions had a good taste, however, they were really long and stringy, which reminded me of string spaghetti lol. Sandwich can get a little messy, prepare yourself with some napkins, and don't let it sit or it'll get soggy from the juices. My roommate thought his cheese steak was average, not bad but not the best he's ever had either. Pop's brownie was chocolatey and moist and a great way to end a flavorful lunch. The shack is located in a convenient spot and the lot has ample parking. Service was great. The woman helping us was friendly and even gave me a frequent buyer punch card since I told her it was my first time there. Fyi, Monday's are double punch days! I'm a cash-type of person anyway, but bring cash if you don't want to be charged $1 to use your card.
