I will say I was a little disappointed that the meatballs tasted frozen rather than homemade. With the reputation Mama's has, I expected fresh, house-made meatballs. We had Eggplant Parm and Chicken Verdiccio. The flavor of both was excellent and the helpings are very good. The atmosphere is splendid and the servers are pleasant. This restaurant has been our go to for Italian for 15 years even though we used to be regulars at Mangia Mangia in Billerica. I always saw this place when getting ice cream from across the street. Decided to try with my coworker and we were not disappointed at all. Our waitress was super friendly. My coworker got the baked haddock with I believe fettuccine Alfredo, and I got the Italian sausage with Alfredo spaghetti. The Italian sausage was normal, but the haddock was such a game changer. It was so soft and flavorful and the breading on top made it taste even better. The Alfredo sauce itself was so good, dare I say better than Cheesecake Factory. And the texture of the pasta was perfectly soft and bouncy. Definitely will try the other sauces and dishes. read more

I have been coming here since the early 2000s. This place is consistently great. Last night I went in for the first time in WAY too long and fortunately was seated with my favorite waitress there! I loved how she recognized me and my son immediately and was just so great overall! "C" is really the best! I have to say the quality of the food is very good. The service very good, their pizza also very good but when it comes to their Italian dishes, which contain wine, it's almost as if there isn't any there the sparingly using it or using some substitute that you can't taste, but there is no real wine flavoring in the Italian dishes, such as marsala. read more

This review is only for the dessert that we got to go. Wanted to try Grapenut Pudding but they were sold out, so ordered Mississippi mud pie slice instead. The flavor was amazing and the cake part was very fresh and not dry at all. However including tax we paid $7.48 which I think for a tiny piece of cake/pastry is a bit much. Would have returned to the restaurant but the price is just not worth it. 5 star to taste and 3 star to price. read more

I have always loved this place for a very long time but very disappointed now. The chicken broccoli sauté was nothing like it use to be. Spent $19 to the trash. The chicken is soggy and seems boiled, there was bones in the dish, loose consistency, nothing like I've had the past 10 years. Turned my stomach once I had bones in my mouth taking a bite of this pasta dish. I hate wasting money and I wish we just stayed home. We wanted somewhere different for supper last night and Mama's restaurant did not disappoint us!! Our server Laura was amazing!!! We started off with beers (It was that kind of day) and we thought root beer.(Who drinks root beer anyways?) No root beer so Grandpa Jim had to get Coke. We had the freshest basket of bread and plenty of butters to go along with it while we chatted and caught up. Grandpa Jim wanted Syrian pizza but they did not have that which he swore they did, so he got the broasted chicken (only white meat,he barked) and Jojo's. The jojos looked like ole time cruller donuts!! They were huge a delicious!! The Captain got cheese pizza and I got the biggest antipasto salad ever! My salad was enough for 3 servings and I'm not even kidding.. it was 12.99 total and loaded. THATS AMORE!!!It was loaded with ham and cheese rolls of bites of delicousness, thicker, robust pepperoni, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, banana peppers, artichoke, and calmata olive's delish!! We also got ex bread so delish!! The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food and we all brought food home except Grandpa Jim because... I mistakenly( lol) took his chicken home with me!! lol..l sorry about that Grandpa Jim.(Grandpa Jim did get to ride in front seat on way home, while I was in the back with all Hubby's ole' Ford Parts catalogues!!) We just waited an hour for food and didn't get acknowledgment from our "waitress" Debi the entire time before we decided to cancel the order and just leave. Normally I wouldn't make a fuss about this because even before Covid wait staff had it rough, but EVERYONE surrounding us were getting their food, including people who were seated a long time after us. Setting aside the fact that we never ended getting our food, our waitress checked on every one of her tables but ours and then gave us attitude when we finally asked where our food was. Long story short, we were seated at 545 and finally ended up cancelling our order at around 7 and all we'd gotten at that point was water, bread and avoidance from our waitress. In the past I've ordered Mama's at least twice a month because the food is amazing and it's so close to me. I've also never had an issue with the staff being rude or absent, but this time was so disappointing that I downloaded this app just to bitch about it. All in all tonight's visit was extremely disappointing and Debi is probably the worst waitress I've had in a long time. Next time I'll just drive the extra 10 minutes to the Chateau. read more

My expectations for Mama's were basically in the gutter, because 1) it's Dracut and 2) past reviews have not exactly been stellar. But I actually had a really good experience here and would come again! It's not like the food will blow you away but it's straightforward, well-prepared Italian-American food. They serve Italian sub rolls with butter as the bread course, which I was a little skeptical about, but the bread was extremely fresh. The eggplant parmesan sandwich came on the same bread, with a side of hot, fluffy french fries. The fried eggplant was sliced nice and thin, and the marinara sauce had a good bite to it. The cheese lasagna tasted simple but fresh, not like some places where it's been sitting around for who knows how long. The baked haddock was a surprise hit as well. Our waitress, Laura, was a pro--so friendly and attentive! The interior of this restaurant is a bit dated and run down. But if that will bother you too much, you can always get takeout! For a satisfying, casual, and affordable family dinner, Mama's certainly beats Olive Garden! If you're in Dracut and craving Italian, this is a solid choice! read more

First of all, one star is the absolute worst rating for a provided service. Was the food rotten? Was it bug ridden? Did you get it all? That makes a one star rating. Mamas is no way a one star restaurant. If you want strega, then go there dummy. This is a small, family business in small town Dracut. You're not gonna find five stars in small towns like this usually. Prison food isn't even one star. I'd give mamas a 3 star review. It's not the best, but it's far from the worst. It's good for a quick, decent meal. Not so much for suit and tie atmosphere. Grow up and review accordingly please. These people work really hard to make there business. I was a customer of this restaurant for about two years, my boyfriend for longer, however, after our last experience, we decided to never go back. It was really a shame because my boyfriend swore by this place, and so many people have raved about it for years, but I really do not understand why. Maybe it used to be better years ago and is now just something sentimental to the people of Dracut? -Most of the time I've ordered spaghetti and meatballs--sometimes I would venture out and try something new, only to be disappointed, being forced to return to my safe spaghetti haven. The portions are huge, almost three meals in one! So you do get what you pay for in that aspect. However, you are definitely not paying for quality. Most of everything tastes frozen. The chicken is just patties usually, and were clearly frozen. Same with the meatballs. The famous mama sauce is also very meh. - I really actually enjoy the outdated decor of the restaurant but I really need to comment on how dirty and dusty this place is. You can literally see like an inch of dust in some places. Lots are piled up in the fake plants. Needs a good cleaning! -What really made me not want to come back was the just the awful service we received last time. We showed up around 5 or 6 and by the time we left it was about 8 and we did not want to be there that long! I wanted to go home and I was getting cranky. The server messed up our drinks which was fine, but we were the only ones in the restaurant at first. Then a larger party of people came in after us. We ordered before them yet they got all of their food before we saw ours. The server apologized for the long wait but really, there were not a lot of people in the restaurant. Once we got our food we were never checked up on. We finished and waited for a very long time for the bill. We stick our cards in there and the server came back and collected them. When she came back to give us the receipts to sign, she did not give us a pen and we didn't see her for another fifteen minutes or so, so we could not even ask for one. When we left I was a little bit annoyed. Definitely not worth your time or money. Olive garden knocks this place out of the park any day. Gosh I just love this place! Great pasta, excellent salads, Wards favorite Broasted Chicken & all for a great price. PRO- Met the Haskall's for dinner one night recently. They both LOVE the Chicken Marsala here. I got the yummy Shrimp Verdacchio. Ward weirdly (as I said he loves the chicken) went for the Baked Haddock with a side of broccoli. We had a couple glasses of wine. Our waitress was terrific, attentive but not bothersome. They have glass up between the booths so we felt safe eating inside even with Covid again on the rise. It was SO fun to get out & eat & be with friends again over a nice meal. CON - Ward said the broccoli was 'too soft". Considering he generally likes it barely cooked, I can't really hold this against Mama's. SO - You should go. It's not fancy, but you get your money's worth & it's always good. There is a wait on weekend nights for sure. They do alot of great takeout too. Mama's has been here a long time & has been a favorite of mine for a long time & there is definitely a reason for that. Mrs. StoneOLD and I go to Mama's quite often. The Baked Haddock is always fresh, moist and flavorful and the side of broccoli is even good. Mama's also makes an excellent Pizza. The crust is nice and chewy and the sauce is excellent. The Service is always friendly and efficient. Mama's is a must try if you're in the area. 11/25/2019 UPDATE; Pizza has slipped quite a bit. It used to be a sweeter type of sauce but; it seems to have been replaced with the typical, dark red, bitter, burned tasting sauce (straight from the can). Soggy crust and extra, extra grease. Baked haddock is still good but anything containing chicken in any form other than fried is typically rubbery. Mama's isn't really worth the drive, at this point. read more
