This place is filled with dumb incompetent workers. I called them ahead of my visit to ask if they had time, and if they were able to, make a repair on my car. I needed an o2 sensor to be changed, I had a check engine light previous to the visit for a long period of time. I've had it checked out and confirmed bank 2 o2 sensor is failed. On the phone they said "sure we can replace that, come on down, we can get it done today!" I was like great! . So I arrived, went to the counter to drop my car off, told them the problem and how I called ahead to say this would be doable, I asked what the price quote for the work would be, and I was told they had "no idea" what it would cost, and it depends on what the problem was. I responded by saying, "its an o2 sensor, i believe bank #2, that needs changing". His response was "well I dont know that, so untill we diagnose it ourselves, we will give you a call and can give you the next step for options on repair and what the cost would be. So I left my phone number, and left. This was at 1pm saturday. They called me back at 4:50pm the same day (10 minutes before closing) and left me a voicemail stating my car is repaired and ready for pickup. I laughed when I got that voicemail, because I never even authorized them to do work on my vehicle, let alone get a price quote before hand. So obviously I wasnt going to be able to call back / get back there before they closed since I got the voicemail at 5:05pm. Story continues the next day on sunday, I come in, ask what was done with my car,I tell them its interesting that I got a "my car is repaired voicemail" when I never even got a quote for the work or authorization to do anything, the gentleman at the counter proceeded to lookup what happend with my car . He stated nothing was done with it, it was confirmed theres a problem with the o2 sensor in bank #2, and I responded by saying ok lets replace it. He says we cant, we don't replace o2 sensors here. I was dumbfounded because on the phone someone who I was speaking with claimed they do and could, I told them this is rediculous, took my key and car and left. They obviously didnt charge me for any work done, but it was a complete waste of my time. It took 4 hours to plug an obd2 reader into my car to confirm what I already told them was wrong? Than they claim to not be able to do the work? What the heck is wrong with this place. Never going back again. Don't recommend to anyone cause they are incompetent and a bunch of liars that just waste everyones time. read more

I bought 4 new tires back in February of 2022. Due to the conditions on the LIE approximately 1 month later I needed to replace a front right tire. Unfortunately I could not purchase the tire protection as they are run flats. Again, I have a front fight tire that needed to be replaced, I called and ordered the tire and had a confirmation to arrive on Saturday at 5:009pm. When I arrived, tire was not available, it was actually never ordered. I was not happy and expressed that I should have received a call if they knew I was coming at 5:00 and tire was not available. I was waiting and I told the employee I'm leaving and call me when the tire arrives. When I called 2 days later, I was informed that the order was cancelled. The WORST customer service! I guess that after spending close to 1,600 that I'm not a valued customer. If i ran my business like this I would be out of business. I gave 1 star and would give less if it was an option. read more

Well I went here for a nail in a tire which was about $20 to plug and appears fixed But I'm missing 2 valve stem caps. Now of course this isn't the worst thing but if these young guys, who were yapping more than working from what I saw, can't even remember to put customers caps back on, I hope they maybe remember to tighten every lug nut. This is my 2nd time here where there has been an issue. The first time I waited over 3 hrs for their inspection machine to stop working for them to tell me to go to another Mavis down the street where the guy was so rude to me. He later apologized for his behavior. Today I went to Mavis again to give them another chance. Explained to Brett who wouldn't give me the time of day that I had holes in my tire after a flat yesterday and need a new one. I made a 12 pm appt and waited 2 hrs for him to tell me my tire is no good and the tire needs to be special ordered. Obviously being upset after waiting so long for him to tell me information I told him 2 hrs ago he got nasty with me and refused service and kicked me out of the store. Went across the street to city tire who got me in and out in 20 mins. And they were INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY PEOPLE WHO TRULY CARE AND SMILE unlike Brett at Mavis tire. Will never go back. read more

I've never had a bad experience with mavis until this specific location. I only chose it because of the proximity to my house. I went in to have my tire inspected and we discovered a nail in it. Was told that since it was too close to the sidewall, the whole tire needed to be replaced. The tire was ordered Monday the 26th and set to arrive that Thursday. I get a call Thursday saying the tire is now delayed, that's fine. I continue to put air in it every other day till the next available appointment on Sunday. I bring it in on Sunday, was told I can wait with the car, but was then told it was super busy when I arrived and so I told them, "no problem" and walked home, with the anticipation that they would call when it was completed. 4 hours go by and still no word. I call to check the status and after being put on hold, I'm told they cannot find my tire. It's lost. Meanwhile, they somehow didn't realize this in the 4 hours my car had been there per my appointment. I'm told "if we find the tire, it'll be done in a half hour and we'll call you". Okay, I wait 45 minutes and am at this point about to leave, ready to go pick up my car and take it somewhere else at that point, that can maybe actually manage to find tires that are in stock and help me. I get a call saying the tire is done and I say, " oh you found the tire?" The guy on the phone is confused and has to put me back on hold to figure out what they even did to the tire. Turns out they plugged my tire, the one they said was impossible to fix. When I arrive, I ask to speak to Ross, who initially told me that the tire was unfixable. Since it's pretty convenient that now the tire is all of a sudden able to be fixed after they admitted they can't find/ lost the tire I waited a week for. I am assured when I arrive, that the plug was a safe move and I never needed a new tire in the first place. I take my car home (2 minute drive) then 10 minutes into driving it the next morning, the tire goes completely flat on 347 and blows out. Listen, I understand people are busy and that people make mistakes, things happen. However, I don't understand being blatantly lied to and told that my car is now safe. When it clearly WAS NOT. The next mechanic was appalled someone could possibly plug a tire like this. Mavis in centereach sent me off with an unsafe "fix" to cover their own asses. Pathetic and insulting. I don't know how you're still in business. read more

TERRIBLE. I didn't even have a service done because of their awful customer service over the phone. I called for a quote on two tires with the intention of calling them back to schedule an appointment after I checked elsewhere. He asked for my name and I told him I wasn't ready to make an appointment and he HUNG UP ON ME! For this reason, I decided that the cheapest service was NOT worth it. I took my $150 elsewhere. Went to get snow tires and put in order online went there the next day to have the tires replaced and guy at the desk took all my info for a half an hour then I asked to make sure before I left, "are you sure you have the tires" after a half an hr of paperwork the guy says no we don't have them. Why waste my time if you don't even have the tires,at least have the common courtesy to call and say we don't have the tires in. As I'm there at the desk there's another customer who is complaining that they put the wrong vehicle rim on his car. Stay away! read more

I hate this place after going here many times due to the convenient location forget it I'll travel 1,000,000 miles before coming back. They will give you every single solitary excuse to charge you for things you don't need. My favorite was when the manager said to me I need a new caliper on the right side of my van. I said how do you figure that show me. He said he can't show me he can just tell me. I said you have to give me more than that he said well based on my experience you should change it. I've then called the district manager told him the situation and he was completely useless taking side of the manager recommending a repair without having a symptom or a problem. And I was going to get my car inspected so they thought they'd have me screwed so they tried to bully me into a repair or I won't get the inspection. You know what based on my experience I should never go back and I won't and of course that's putting it mildly. Avoid this place if you want to keep your money. read more

I've been going to this Mavis forever. I literally pass three locations on my way here but it's totally worth it. They are kind, efficient, and most importantly they're honest. When I had an older car the guy told me that it wasn't worth fixing and he felt bad taking my money. They don't mind checking things for you free of charge. The place across the street wanted $50 just to look at my car and Midas charged me $80 to take a look for 2 seconds. I would go to this Mavis location only because they are not all the same. And they will tell you exactly what your check engine light means for free, not just some code. Hope this helps. read more

Well where do I begin now Mavis you want me to give you positive feedback but you don't do anything I ask you to do with my car like fix it July 11th 2021 I went in there to fix my car I needed rear brakes I need a front end alignment I needed my tires balanced and I need a sensor for one of the tires in the back okay they did give me an oil change I needed that they did do the brakes and they did the sensor but they never did a front end alignment they never balanced the tires so after all that was done my car was still shaking a lot then I go there July 15th I wait from 6:00 I had an appointment until 8:30 they did nothing to the car then I go there again this past Sunday I waited I had 10:00 appointment I waited for about 10:00 till around 1:00 or 2:00 and after after complaining that I'm sitting here waiting then it took my car for a test drive said the front end was shaking and then they told me oh we can't balance the tires or rotate them because the tires have to be the same so they trying to get me into buying more tires I took my car somewhere else and they told me you don't need to have tires all the same to balance and rotate them they don't have to be the same so I got another opinion from someone else so long story short my front end is still shaking now I got to sit there with a shaky front end crappy service make me wait 4 hours 5 hours did nothing to the car didn't want to do anything because I wouldn't buy anything else so far beware of this place and when I put it in I spent $630 tell all that worked my point of all this is to show I wasted so much of my time and and I won't be going back thanks for your crappy service. read more

I recently needed to replace original equipment tires on my Honda crv. I needed to contact the manufacturer as the tires had well below the mileage expected before replacement was necessary. The manager, Patrick, went above the call of duty to make the transaction possible. Everyone at Mavis was helpful, couteous, and performed the tire replacement and alignment to my satisfaction. This is one of the worst experiences I have every had in my entire life and I am never one to complain but I'm calling mavis corporate tomorrow! I had 2 tires done and oil change done and let me tell you this was a mistake. They stripped my oil pan I never had a problem ever with my oil. Make a long story short I brought it in and they put oversized plug which I had to pay for and they didnt tighten the plug after I left and oil still dripped. Run, run far away. This is by far the worst Mavis in the history of Mavis. Seven and a half hours to change 4 tires that I had an appointment at 9 AM for. I selected the tires on the website and made the appointment, when I get there, the employee tells me that the tires I selected online are "sh*t tires" (excuse the language- just using his words). They call to tell you you need more work than you need and then never call back when your vehicle is ready. Furthermore, they charged me to set the tire guages on my vehicle. My vehicle doesn't have "TPMS". I went to get a refund and they won't issue me a refund because its the weekend. Told me that I need to come back M-F 9-5 to get a refund or I could take a credit on an oil change. Lets just say, save the headache, go elsewhere. read more

If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. I had my tire and rim fixed there in August and when I picked my car up, my keys were thrown all over the floor and the remote for the alarm on my house was missing. I called to complain and they told me to look under my seat, as if that wasn't the first thing that I did. I tried calling to speak to the manager a dozen times but he was never there. I tried calling and leaving messages for customer service but never got a response. I even emailed customer complaints and never heard back. At this point, I don't know if they stole my alarm remote and made a copy of my house key. Regardless of what they did, they should be replacing the remote, or even the entire alarm system because I don't feel safe. Do not go to this Mavis because they are shady and refuse to own up to what they did. My keys should have never come off the key ring in the first place, there's no reason for that to happen. I didn't have a lot of keys, just my house and car and an alarm remote for my house and a remote start so they weren't in the way at all to have needed to be removed. Unacceptable behavior by this company. There's no question that I will not use them ever again. read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION!!! If I could give no star I would. I went in on Saturday April 21st, 2018 to buy 4 new tires, get an inspection plus get an alignment. To start things off I say there for close to 4 hours for simple things to be done, But this was the least of my problems. Two of the employees Tim and Bryan who are brother threatened me and told me that if we were on the outside they would fuck me up all because I told them to not try and silence and because I was cursing because I was mad due to them fighting with me over the location of my inspection sticker which is soo stupid because its a sticker which is petty I mean soo petty but besides the point if I want to curse I can do that because freedom of speech is my first amendment right. While all of this was going on Juan the assistant manager was standing rite there and did not say anything to Tim nor Bryan he sat there in complete silence. After this threatening verbal abuse and traumatic interaction with Tim and Bryan I was rung up at the counter and I was charged for window tint removal which no one told me it was going to cost $10 each to remove so they charged me for something I did not agree too nor that knew I was going to be charged for and Juan was the one who rung me up. I am calling for the firing or resignation of the assistant manager Juan also for the brothers Tim and Bryan!! If this company chooses not too reprimand these 3 employees it says Violation of the First Amendment Right To Freedom Of Speech is allowed and also it says making threats to fuck someone up is OK and its definitely not OK its never OK..! read more

The $59.99 brake price is good. I like that you can go online and choose a reasonable price tire. What I don't like is that you have to order the tire for that Mavis location. By 3 get 1 free not good if you are looking for a particular tire over a specific price. Example: if you are looking for a tire between purchase price range of one hundred and twenty or one fifty dollar range but any below one hundred dollars the deal does not apply.I bought tires for seventy two a piece. read more
