This store completely ghosted me! All my history has been purged from the system? I moved to the area in 1993. Over those years I have brought my cars here for general maintenance items like brakes, oil changes and New York State inspections. I sent tires from Tire Rack here to be put on my Mercedes, this was my shop. Competitive auto shops came to 347, I tried them and went to Goodyear less. When the Mavis counter person said something snarky to my wife, I went there and got in the guys face. So now we're back to square one. When I need a tire or even a tire patch, where to go? I went back to my trusted spot, Goodyear on Rt 112. My wifes car is showing a low tire pressure and we drive to Goodyear. I pulled in and walked into a clean waiting area. I'm asked for my information? I gave the manager my license as he enters my address for the first time. We go to look at my car. He finds a nail and said to come back in a few. We pull up and my wife came out with a funny look on her face. The manager said no charge?? I went back inside, thanked him and gave him a tip. Is that happening at Pep Boys? Um.. no. ....so, I wanted to get an oil change for my Lincoln Corsair...the manufacturer's website, along with the owner's manual, stated I needed a "synthetic blend"...made an appointment on line, and confirmed all in my requests via telephone...when I got there for the appointment, they said I needed "full synthetic" at an up charge of at least $50.00....they refused to do the job unless I showed I was an idiot and paid more......the Manager claimed their "synthetic blend " was good only for vehicles made before 2000 due to their "lead content"...never in my life have I heard such lies and bullshit ! I am a car collector and only can say the Manager is either an idiot or a con artist...I believe the latter....ended up going to the Lincoln dealer for less money, and got a free car wash to boot ! All I can say, run for the hills, and forget about these so called "professionals"...the only thing they are professional about is up-charging !!!!!!!!!!! ...also, it appears when a consumer has a complaint, Goodyear has a "pat phrase" given to everyone, which is telling me they are NOT reading, only looking at the number of stars ; here is their phrase : "Thank you for reaching out to us. So far so good. Came in for 4 new tires, no up sales, nothing pushed on me like other places I've been to. At the end of the day you just want honest people and honest service. Mike, one of the mechanics was very sweet when I asked him to take a look at my brakes for me as well as Collin. Collin drove my car around to try and identify the problem. This is also past 5pm which is the time they close. I wasn't rushed out despite the need of close of Buisness. I felt as though my concerns were taken care of and my peace of mind was at ease. My sister and brother in law went to this Good yar location with a flat tire. Jow was so kind and sweet. He needed to remove the tire from the car to make the repair and did it in less than 15 minutes. He was so pleasant and kind. They live near the Suffolk and Nassau County line and will only use this location in the future. read more

Thieves. On multiple occasions told me my car needed more service than it actually did, and I know nothing about cars so obviously I went with it. After the third time I went to get a second opinion and was told I didn't need any of it, and what I did need would cost a fraction of what they we're going to charge me. Sometimes your lucky enough to come by an honest chain that has that small business local feeling and especially in an emergence and this was one of them. 20 mins before closing w the Dog in my car and running on a flat and no where to go I pulled in the parking lot. They didn't have a way to fix my tire or have the one needed by standards in stock but the placed the spare on and didn't even charge me knowing what I went through and having the dog w me as I also got locked in car earlier from dog lol. (2) days later I was back at shop w new tire waiting already on my rim and in and out in fifteen mins. And let's make it better I didn't even know I had Lexus tire warranty and they helped to manage my claim as well. And they also took everything out of my trunk to get the spare and put it back in. Fantastic pricing on tires. Fantastic deals on rotations, etc. when you buy the tires there. Friendly enough service people and front desk associates. But I got wayyyy overcharged for another repair when going in for my "free" rotation. Soon afterward, that repair failed, costing me even more money (but I didn't take it back to them to be fixed). I won't be back, except maybe for a new set of tires when it's time, but I'll likely go to another Goodyear. I'll be taking my car elsewhere for rotations, etc., even though they may offer free ones. Freebies rarely end up being freebies. read more

I don't usually write reviews but this place drove me to. This is a terrible business which should be avoided. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The nasty man at the counter makes sure to give you an attitude letting you know you're not welcome if he feels you can't be taken advantage of, you happen to know something about your vehicle, or if you aren't elderly with a blank check for him. I paid $130 for a lifetime balance for my Goodyear tires on my Jeep. It was my understanding that a lifetime balance meant just that, I could return during the life of the tires if they had become unbalanced. Silly me for thinking that. The nasty man at the counter reluctantly had my truck brought in the shop. The mechanic proceeded to remove only the two front tires. Tell me something was missing off the rims which I didn't need. And then sent me on my way. The final straw which drove me to write this was that the mechanic must have hit the lug nuts on the front wheels with the impact gun as strong as it would go. My lug wrench practically broke trying to get them off. Like I said earlier. I witnessed the nasty man at the counter friendly and welcoming to anyone with no clue what their car really needed or interest in vehicles. If my truck broke down in front of their shop I'd have it towed elsewhere! read more

Many thanks to Donna M who helped us out in a jam while on vacation out of town. Our rental car picked up a nail in the tire, and the rental agency was closed. We had a big event and dinner to attend, and she and the tech got us in and out very quickly. Very reasonable repair cost. She even chatted with us while we waited! This is the second time in two years a Goodyear dealer, in different states, has given us excellent service with little advance notice due to a damaged tire. read more

I am relatively new the area and had a hard time finding a good car services location. When I first walked in to Goodyear in Port Jeff, I was greeted with open arms. John was exceptional in his knowledge and advices and he came across very genuine. They did great work on my car and I have no had any problems. Today I went for an oil change and it was perfect. John was very attentive. He took me right away and it was done in about 40 minutes. John went through my cars history with me and didn't try to sell me anything extra. He honored a coupon for the oil change even though I did not have the actual coupon. Also, he made suggestions for my next service appointment and printed me a quote for the work too. I have been coming to the location for the past 4 years and have had no problems. I got brand new tires from them. Got a 3 year warranty, 6 months interest free, and a rebate on the tires. I don't think it was a bad deal. I do miss Donna. She worked the front of the store but, John did right by me and the mechanics definitely know how to do their job. I will be continuing to use this location for all my car needs. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS GOODYEAR. This business has been reported to Better Business Bureau. This auto service Goodyear has a reputation of predatory practices targeting women and the elderly by convincing them they need hundreds of dollars of repairs when they do not. In addition, they have been known to pass cars for the NYS vehicle inspection without ACTUALLY inspecting them. From personal experience they passed my SUV with an inspection with a broken tail light. I let this slide because i THOUGHT it was an honest mistake. Most recently I got my oil changed. They left a nut completely unscrewed and oil leaked all over my driveway. I didn't notice this until a family member called me as I was traveling. The automechanic shop I brought my car to after this incident said I was LUCKY THE ENGINE DIDN'T EXPLODE while I was driving due to there being no oil from the leak. In addition to the above, they tried to trick my mother into getting $700 worth of repairs on her brakes by stating "you better get these new brake pads, I would not drive if I was you" the break pads were less than 80% used. Unless you want shoddy service do not use this Goodyear. read more

I recently made an appointment for a Saturday morning to have a tire plugged here. It took nearly three hours for them to perform the task. When I asked them why, after an hour, they hadn't even brought the car in to look at it, they said they were just backed up. Naturally I was confused given my appointment and the scope of the job. When they finally did look at the car, I was pressured to replace the two eight month old front tires, and quoted a very high price for 15" tires. I politely declined, then declined again, and again. Having sat around the waiting room for nearly three hours I witnessed a lot of these high pressure sales pitches. I would caution anyone who sends their wife, daughter, grandmother or naive husband that if you come in for wiper blades, it's likely they'll try to pitch you $1000 worth of tires and get miffed when you decline. read more

Took my truck in for an oil change but that wasn't the problem... The oil change was fine. The problem was when, I believe his name is John, called me and said that the heat clamp needs to be tightened (I already knew this). This guy really tried to scam me into paying 33 dollars in getting the bolt on the heat clamp tightened... He said, "it costs 3/10 an hour to do it." Aka 18 or so minutes... I spoke with my dad (who's a former mechanic), my gf's dad (whom owns his own shop), family members whom are mechanics and they couldn't believe it! It takes two seconds to tighten the bolt on the heat clamp when the cars already on the lift... What are these people using their feet instead of their hands to fix cars? This is something that a courteous, honest professional mechanic would have just taken a minute to fix. What a sleezeball. The star goes to the lady working upfront. She was cool and nice... A bunch of thieves!!! Needed only rear rotors and they replaced all four. When I told them I wanted to see the old rotor they could only find two of them. Yeah cause the other 2 were fine. hanged a ridiculous amount too! Avoid this place until they fire everyone who works there. Liars and only want to up sell you even for the simplest of things just to make you spend unnecessary money. I called today around 130-145 about booking an oil change (~$25-30 on the website) and when clarifying cost and service they would book me under I was told that they were not allowed "per corporate" to use conventional oil in my 2016 Optima EX and I had to use synthetic or blended which would be at least $50-60 (twice the cost). The car is regularly serviced at the dealer using conventional oil and I only called since dealer was booked with holidays next week and I wanted to get it done this weekend. I told the guy I was OK using conventional still and just wanted to use that as it is what the dealer has used to date and they replied "we're not allowed to use conventional. you have to book the synthetic or blended." I wasn't going to argue with the guy on the phone as soon as they told me this I knew I would be going somewhere else and never trying this place again for anything. Beware!! read more

I called in the morning because one of my windshield wipers had snapped off during the snowstorm. I spoke to John, who looked up the type of wipers I needed, and said that they weren't in stock but he could get them in for me. When I stopped in a few hours later, he had gone ahead and ordered them ahead of time so I wouldnt have to wait. I was very appreciative of this extra effort. horrible horrible disgusting horrendous!!! boycott this shiesty money pit!!!! this place was to change oil on our truch. simple task, no?? well, not for them. they never replaced the oil they removed when changing it and delivered us our truck without oil. we left, got just a few streets down, the oil light went on and the engine seized. at first they offered to replace the engine, even saying they found the replacement. the next day we went to schedule appointment for replacement and to get details of everything that happened in writing. they said they would not put anything in writing and that they no longer honor the promise to replace the engine. they said they didn't want to be liable. we were left with no truck as the engine was seized, empty promises to fix the situation, and ultimately only offered an apology for their employee ruining our truck and not replacing oil in our truck during an oil change. so we are screwed out of a perfectly fine automobile and because goodyear of port jefferson. this place should be shut down!!!! read more
