I understood that this would take some time but when then SnapOn truck shows up the entire staff stopped working for an hour to shop and hang around and smoke cigarettes. this once is a complete rip off!!! I went in to get my rear brakes pads replaced. very simple thing to do and they wanted $190 which is expensive as it is. I go to get my hair cut. when I returned they told me I needed new rotors, new calipers and new brakes pads. cost of $850 plus. they said my calipers work no good and would not compress. I decided it to do it myself, it ended up costing me $50. I only needed brake pads. they tried to rip me off saying g I needed new everything, total scumbag move on their part. don't go to this place they are crooks!!!! read more

If I could give less than one star. I would I was told by others not to patronize this location the service is terrible but I took a chance since I was in a tough situation with a nail in my tire on New Year's Eve. I ordered my tire for the day after New Year's Day since all was closed for the holiday. I made an appointment and came a half hour early. The cashier was polite and knowledgeable. She promised I would be in and out since the tire was there and it one single tire change. Little did I know but she left a few minutes after I arrived and none of the mechanics knew I was even there. I stood with my key for another twenty minutes now panicking because I had work at four. It's now three. I have had cars my whole life even worked in a family owned garage and I know how long a tire replacement takes. I just had four replaced brand new and the men who did them took 45 minutes with spin balance. So time is ticking and the lead mechanic finally comes into the office and I explained that the cashier knew I had work and I need it on asap that was met with flustered agitation and a barrage of I'm by myself ma'ams. I knew this wasn't going well he finally said you know what I will take it in and get it on. I was relieved but called work and alerted them I may be late. I watched through the glass and saw my car and the absolute sloth like timing this was taking. Up on the lift five minute later take the tire off walk away do something else. Take the tire off the rim. Again walk away do something else. I watched and watched and no one was touching it it's now 430. I finally had no choice but to go out to the garage and ask what is going on here. I was met with a bunch of looks and everyone saying who is working on this car !??? I stood outside and watched them finally spin balance the tire and put it on now close to five. As I watched I asked can I pay for this so I can leave immediately. I paid my bill and went back outside. Now I see the mechanic looking for the lead mechanic and showing him my lug nut. They then turn and say miss I'm sorry but the lug broke off in your tire. You'll be fine with four. Come back anytime tomorrow and we will fix it for you. I was livid. They dropped my car and drove it outside to me and I had to fly to work on four lugs an hour and 15 minutes late and I drive for a living. I'm here the next day to get this lug replaced. I cannot believe what comes next but I was actually asked to leave my car for the day because he didn't order the part and he didn't know I was coming. I was told come whenever you can we are so sorry. Needless to say I went crazy. Never in my life have I ever seen one tire change become a two day event. They miraculously found my lug in office and I'm still waiting The only saving grace here is the woman who works the counter who came out and sat next to me to ask what happened and tell me how sorry she was when she wasn't even here. I have been to dealers I have been to chain places I have been to neighborhood corner mechanics Ive seen it all but never this level of ineptness. Oh btw I'm still waiting 40 minutes in now. Decided to call to see how long it would be for an oil change last minute and was told it would be some time before I'd be helped and I was fully aware of this and didn't mind. I didn't have anything on the agenda that would require a time crunch so I headed on in after speaking with Yaya. Let's just say this will always be my favorite location to go too. I have an older vehicle and I'm 100% aware of issues that could be caused for concern and don't expect to be treated special but it doesn't matter the vehicle you have at Mavis Discount Tire, you will always feel important and special at the end of the process. I'd like to say thank you to Yaya and Miley for their amazing customer care, I needed it today more than Miley will ever know. During the entire process I was informed very well, I've never questioned anything from this location. I'd really like to say if you're an unhappy customer, it won't be because of Miley or Yaya as they make the situation better in my opinion. Will never shop there again. They installed new tires but left my trunk open for several hours after putting my spare in the trunk. They drained my battery and handled the situation horribly. My wife went in for a slow leak in a tire. The leak was caused by a roofing nail in the tread, which I readily identified as the cause to my wife. This is normally a very easy fix. Not at this Mavis though, she was told they tried to plug it but it was still leaking, and it was caused by a screw and needed to replace the tire. Now I know they scammed her as it was clearly not a screw, either way that should have been able to be plugged. This is the second time she was told the same exact thing at this Mavis. I have had numerous leaks fixed with plugs in my car and my wife's, oddly this Mavis cannot fix leaks but has to replace your tire! Buyer beware!!!!!!! To many other places to go to get a legitimate repair for a slow leak; choose elsewhere. read more

I'm disappointed with the service for the amount I paid. I bought new tires for over $400. Shortly after, I noticed that my steering wheel felt wobbly and the front seat felt funny. I took it to mavis, who test drove it and said nothing was wrong. I took it then to my local mechanic, who said the belt on the front right tire shifted and that my rim was bent. So I got my rim replaced, then I took it back to Mavis, still saying nothing was wrong with it. I then drove it to my dealer, who agreed with the mechanic that the belt was loose and the only way to fix it is getting new tires. Needless to say I will ask for my refund and not get my tires done there again!! read more

I've been going here for oil changes since they opened up. The location is super convenient for me and is right next to a dollar store, Shoprite, PetValu, and now a gym in case you want to run errands while you wait. You can also take a walk in Veterans Park across the street or chill at the Dunkin Donuts while you wait. I've had long waits and short waits at this place - you just have to pick a good time to go. They're always honest about what my car needs so I keep bringing it back even though I get free oil changes for life at the dealer - I just got tired driving up to Hamilton and getting the run around. The free air compressor outside has a tire pressure gauge on it to make it super easy to check your tires. They laugh at my cheesy jokes, and they usually put on a discount if one is available and I forgot to bring the coupon. No complaints here. read more

Great customer service. I called on Sunday to see if I can get my oil change and tires rotated, the guy on the phone was nice and straightforward. He told me they were busy that day and the best time for me to come in without an appointment was today at 8AM. I came around 8:30, there was two customers ahead of me which I didn't mind. My son and I walked to ShopRite to get snacks and drinks. When we walked back around 9 my car was already getting worked on. We patiently sat in the waiting area. The guy rolled in one of my tires and kindly explained to me that my two front tires needed to be replaced due to worn out tracks. Of course, I agreed in getting it replaced since I haven't had any work done with my car since I got it in 2017. In about and hour my tires were rotated, aligned and replaced, oil was change, they checked my engine, fluids and breaks. Everything checked out good. Excellent price and great service. First I was told they couldn't price match because it's too low a price then after asking to speak with manager was told they can't price match promotions.
