We had a very negative experience recently and won't be returning. Not sure how we could trust them after this... Took our car to hinks as we've done for years for an inspection. Was quoted over $2,750 for repairs necessary to make the car pass inspection. With such a high price tag to fix an older car, we actually considered trading it in for a new car before ultimately deciding to get it fixed. Priced out the parts online and found that with labor, should've been able to get the car repaired for about half the price. Took it to another area garage that confirmed they'd be able to do the repair for $1,200, so we went with that garage. When they went to do the work, we got a call from them and I was expecting bad news and additional repairs / money needed... but they actually told me that they couldn't find any of these major problems with the car. There was only one minor fix needed. Car passed inspection and the inspection and minor repair cost me $125. I was so shocked that I took it to a 3rd garage and asked them to review the issues Hinks had identified and the 3rd garage confirmed they couldn't find any sign of those issues. Feel taken advantage of by a business we've been supporting for years. Would've been taken for a $2,500 ride if we didn't get a second opinion.

The place is well located and has good hours late in the evening and early in the morning. He provided the parts and was quoted about $300 for labor. The shop only replaced one rear brake, discovered the other caliper was seized, and then reassembled the car without calling us for options. Afterward, they informed him the vehicle was unsafe to drive but still charged the full $300 labor fee -- despite not completing the job. To make matters worse, they didn't even have the caliper in stock, leaving us with no solution. This was unacceptable. The lack of communication, releasing an unsafe car, and charging full price for incomplete work shows poor customer service and questionable business practices. Customers deserve honesty, fair billing, and consideration for safety, none of which we experienced here. Thomas Stevens was very dishonest, stating that we resided out of town on our invoice, when we live 15 minutes away from this location. Here at this location, they consider everyone else's position, but the customer. Their practices are unethical, immoral, and unjustifiable. My recommendation is that you search elsewhere for your automobile services as this franchise is anything but Christian based. I have reached out to the owner and I am waiting on a response. I will update this Post upon hearing from the Owner, Chip Eissler. I'm not sure if they're even recognized by the Better Business Bureau. I will look into it.

Unfortunately I needed to wait until inspection, due to personal difficulties and the patience was commendable. I really appreciated the kindness and support as life seemed to be out of my control. After the thankfully passed inspection, the car battery had been struggling in cold weather. So as my CBA Mechanical technician Matt was examining the vehicle and battery the alternator gave up. I appreciate how Tom Steven's, CBA Service Manager, careful checked together with Matt all options before deciding that I needed a new alternator. And to make matters even better, they helped me find a replacement alternator that was reasonably priced and quality condition. Since my car is older I was not wanting to pour money into repairs. The communication given to me and updates was so helpful and comforting. I was always aware of what was needed or happening. The diagnostic report and videos on each car concern was outstanding! And I mean outstanding and very informative as to how my vehicle is performing and why certain maintenance must be done. No pressure just made aware. Thank you Tom and Matt for making my car better and safer. I recieved and oil change, steering and brake fluid flush. And even more was able to have my headlights cleaned and trunk mechanism fixed so it wouldn't not fall on my neck. These many decisions were made together and the bill was not a regret but a privilege. The writing of this review is not just to praise Matt and Tom who were the best, and Chip, CBA owner, who shuttled me home and brought me back at completion of vehicle inspection, maintenance and several repairs. This place is a disgrace to the automotive industry, and the owner, Luigi, should not be in business. I brought my son's car in for inspection stickers -- something simple. Luigi kept the car for TWO WEEKS and never did any work. No inspection. No repairs. Not even a phone call. Just silence, excuses, and complete disregard for our time. During that time, my son and I had to share my car -- all while he was preparing for his high school graduation. He had graduation rehearsals, a job to get to, and so did I. This caused real stress and hardship, but Luigi didn't care. He held the car hostage without explanation. When we called for updates, he was rude and nasty every single time. After two weeks of no progress, we went to the shop in person to get answers. What happened next was appalling. As soon as I entered the building -- calmly and respectfully -- Luigi came storming through the door, screaming at me in front of my teenage son. I hadn't even said a word. He yelled, "I'll call you when it's ready!" then shouted, "Take your paperwork and your car and GET OUT!" He was angry, aggressive, and hostile, acting as though I had no right to even be there. To make things worse, his wife was just as rude, cold, and completely unprofessional. Let me be clear: I am an African-American woman, and based on how I was treated -- with open hostility, no provocation, and no professionalism -- I strongly believe this was racially motivated. Luigi spoke to me with a level of disrespect and aggression that made me feel targeted, humiliated, and unsafe. My son watched it all unfold, and it was heartbreaking. Luigi originally quoted $250 for inspection stickers -- yet no service was performed. Just two weeks of delays, verbal abuse, and a total lack of accountability. Even though I feared for my life in that moment, one thing is certain: this will be the last time Luigi ever screams at a Black woman like that without being held accountable. He may have thought he could get away with it -- but not this time. If you are a woman, a person of color, or simply someone who expects to be treated with dignity and respect, then this is not the place for you. I will never go back. Absolutely whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE…read more I took my car here for an inspection and it was a huge mistake. I got a call from their tech stating my car did not pass inspection because my front passenger strut was broken and my windshield wipers needed replacing. I advised I would replace my own wipers because they were charging 30 dollars for a single wiper that only cost anywhere between 12 and 17 at the store. He boasted "free installation" and continued to try to pressure me. It is not free installation when you are overcharging for the part. Before deciding to change them myself, I looked up the requirement for windshield wipers in the PA Vehicle Equipment and Inspection Regulations. Turns out this shop did not follow the requirements and did not allow my windshield wipers to complete the full number of cycles required to pass inspection before failing me. I know this because they stupidly sent me a video of the wiper inspection. Regarding my strut; I found it funny that a car only a few years old with 55k miles would need a strut replacement so soon. Michalaks quoted me $1200 over the phone for replacement of the single broken strut. Per my own research, a strut replacement with parts and labor should cost a little more than half of that. Because of their exorbitant prices, I decided to get a second opinion at a different shop. I took it to CJ automotive in Lansdale. CJ automotive inspected my car and advised that there were no broken strut components and no safety concerns that would cause the car to fail inspection. They also advised my windshield wipers passed inspection. Out of curiosity I asked how much it would cost to replace the strut in the future and they advised it would be $716 including tax. 500 dollars less than what Michalaks wanted to charge. Finally, this shop only warranties their work for 2 years/24k miles whereas CJ's warranties for 3 years/36k miles. Do not go here. They are con artists and I have the proof. I had a whole conversation with the man and woman who own the shop. The man was extremely rude and threatening. He got entirely too close to me as a tactic to scare me when I called him out. Rebecca told me I complained because I "have issues with men", I corrected her telling her I don't have problems with men (which is completely inappropriate for her to suggest) but I do have problems with her and her skeevy husband trying to scam people out of their hard earned money. She also gave me a speech about how I'd be lucky to find a man like her husband (no thank you; and again completely inappropriate). She ALSO threatened to scrape the emissions sticker. from the inspection I paid for and passed, off my car. So not only do they try to scam people they also threaten to vandalize vehicles. I will update this review when I have time to summarize the additional conversation I had with them.
