Horrible service! Went to get lug nuts removed from my husbands Jeep (that were put on by them in the first place) because they were so horribly stuck on. We wanted lug nuts with no covers on them - just plain nuts. It took them ALL day to do this! Plus they kept trying to get my husband to get things replaced that didn't need it. He said no and they still kept pushing it! These people waste your time and are pushy. Unfortunately they are the only tire place in town and got you by the you know what! So after wasting my husbands valuable time they replaced all the lug nuts with exactly the same thing we had in the first place! And now they are stuck again so we can't get the bloody tire off. Get your act together Mavis and learn some better customer service skills! read more

Phone call to the Hudson,NY store w/ Chuck(?)- Me: " I wanted to ask about pricing for swapping all seasons to snow tires,please." Mavis: "$9.95 a tire." Me: " These are 18 inch wheels." Mavis: " $17.95 a tire" ...pause..."are these new, never been mounted or last season's?" Me: "New tires." Mavis: " $24.95 a tire." Me: "Oh. Why the price increase for new tires? " Mavis: "Well, it's like bringing your own steak to a steakhouse and asking them to cook it." Me: " I bought these thru Tire Rack with Mavis as an approved installer. " Mavis: "Well, they should tell you our rates on the website,then. Some places charge $45.00 a tire! I could charge you that, but I won't." Me: " LOL! I was born at night but not last night; what is the actual cost,then?" Mavis: " I'll do the $24.95 a tire. Unless you need gaskets for your TPM sensors; we don't touch them to change the tires, they stay in place, but sometimes the gaskets dry out and there's a kit for $7.99 a tire plus labor so, you may need those." Here is the VERY IMPORTANT thing I learned today at Mavis. When you call a Mavis store...ANY Mavis store....you are actually talking to a call center. You might think you are calling the actual store, because that's the number you dialed, but you will be mistaken (Unless it's after 5:00 p.m.). The guy at the call center has no idea what's going on in the actual store. He also doesn't know the inventory at the store. So, that being said.... I called, spoke with Rich, who was lovely, and he said they had tires for my truck and that it would take 2 1/2 to 3 hours, That seemed long, but I was going to lunch and a movie, so it actually worked. When I arrived at the store, about 40 minutes later, the guy told me about the call center, and explained that they were really busy and it would be more like four hours. (By the way...whaaaat???) but as I said, I was having lunch and then movies, so it worked. When I returned , imagine my amazement when I found my truck in its same parking space, untouched!!! No one had contacted me via cell phone to say there was a problem. I went in and asked,"What happened?" to which the fellow replied,"WE're really busy." I simply said,"Give me my keys." He got my name wrong, got the right set of keys and just kind of tossed them into my hands. No apology. No nothing. Not even a WORD. I then called the call center again, and asked to speak with Rich. The man said he was on another call. I said I'd wait for him, but this poor guy REALLY wanted to help me out. He said he saw that I had gotten tires today. I said,"Well, let me tell you a story....." He could not WAIT to get rid of me and said that Rich would call me back as soon as he got off the other line. Can you guess the end of this tale? Yep..........no call back. I brought my brand new car to mavis and they tried to over price me by a lot when I Knew what the cost should be to fix the certain things wrong with my car. They told me only a few hours so I waited and closing time came and went and they never called to tell me when it would be ready or if they were closing with my car still inside with the break parts all over the floors and left on the jack very disappointed with this service read more

They had wonderful customer service. During this covid-19 quarintine, they took all precautions very seriously while giving me the help I need. As a female, I have been tried to been taken advantage of by assuming I don't know anything about cars, and would try to convince me to get repairs I don't need. First things first. I got the "girls know nothing about cars" treatment while in for my appointment today. I needed 4 new snow tires (which I paid a fortune for) as I had gotten into an accident about an hour before hand. I drive a 2000 Subaru Forester. Was sold 1100k TPMS Kits for my vehicle even though my vehicle doesn't have TPMS and has regular rubber valve stems -_- Not to mention, even if my car DID have TPMS they would have in turn sold me the WRONG kits. read more

Went in for a free rotation after buying tires at Mavis, and they decided to do a vehicle 'inspection' without asking my permission and then didn't put the car back together correctly - left several bolts off the undercarriage engine cover which caused it to crack when driving home. Stay away from Mavis if you value your car, time and money. read more

want for a 9am appointment got there about 20 minutes into my wait they come out and told me they didn't have the tires I made an appointment for 5 days before then I waited 2 hours for them to change 4 tires that is very uncalled for then they charge me for two hours of labor then I get home and look at my wheels and the jackass who did my tire destroyed all my lug nuts because apparently he didn't know what size socket to use will never go there again and I would never recommend anyone either read more

Do not go here for anything! I've been a customer here for years dealing mostly with Rob who has been transferred to another store closer to his home. While I have had numerous bad experiences, primarily with workmanship, Rob always made it right. So I continue to go back. Rob is now gone. A few weeks ago I went to Mavis to have my tires rotated and to get an oil change. Once that was done the new manager told me that my shocks were bad and leaking which would cause significant damage to my tires. I gave him the okay to change the shocks. He said he couldn't get the parts on till Monday. I explained to him that I was leaving early Monday morning for a trip to Mississippi, 1400 miles away. Fortunately, they did not get the opportunity to work on my shocks/springs. When I got to Mississippi I went to my friends car dealership and ask him who could fix my shocks. 15 minutes later my car was picked up by his friend who specializes in shocks. A half hour later the mechanic called and said there is nothing wrong with your shocks, they're not leaking, they are perfect! Lesson learned! I will never use Mavis Discount Tire at Hudson New York! read more

I had to get my car inspected and I took it to this place in Hudson and they kept messing around, trying to find something to fix in it just to make an extra buck to get out of you. All that needed was for them to hook up the machine to get it to pass inspection. AND not only that, they need to update their system because apparently they are STILL USING FLOPPY DISKS! They had to run over to another store and "BORROW" one. HOW ARE YOU NOT UP TO DATE WITH ANYTHING!? Get your shit together and don't mess around. Me and my father were here for almost two hours, all just for a inspection. NOT. POSSIBLE. Granted they passed my car and didn't charge me anything for the time that we were there and the fact that my father was getting pissed off at them and pacing. First time here was last winter. Had a flat, removed tire and took the tire in on a busy day. They had it repaired in 15 mins. Today I needed four new all terrain tires for one of my 3/4 ton 4x4 farm trucks. I knew the tire I wanted, they told me the price. I told them the price I would pay installed and balanced. They agreed to do it cheaper than that. I have two more vehicles and they will be getting more of my business this fall. Friendly and knowledgeable group working there too. read more

Told by manager that there wasn't anything else they could do. He suggested bringing our car to a Chevy dealership because "it must be a bigger issue". After agreeing but still taking it to a close friends shop. He found that the parts previously installed weren't only Installed incorrectly but already ruined because of the botched install. This is my 5th time coming through the doors of your business for the same issue, after repeatedly putting my LIFE on the line while driving a car after being serviced at your "shop". Stay away from this one. I hope you pay top dollar to have this review removed before the franchise owner pulls your monthly bonus you scum. read more

Customer service does not exist with these people! I was called in the morning saying my tires were there and to drop my car off, so i did at 10, only to have my car sit there til 3. Meanwhile i called and asked how much longer they were going to be around 2, they said my car was on the lift and it would be 45 minutes more, in that 5 min phone call with them they had called my husband and said my tires weren't even there! So they lied twice to us! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, what a joke they are. read more

went there to have my car inspected waited an hour seeing my hoed up?so I asked why are they under my hood for a inspection they said to check the belts ok new belt just in stalled two week before they said belts needed to be replaced so I told them they are brand new guy goes out to shop comes back and says they will pass but I need new brake rotors in the rear new tie rod end and alignments ask how much its going to cost me to get my car inspected he tells me 350.00 to 400.00 dollars .not having any other choose I have them do it .two weeks later it sounds like my rear tires are ready to fall off the gridding sound is unbearable don't think ill bring back to them always a loyal customer cant deal with rude staff read more

I am a employee of Mavis discount tire and I know that customers can get a little annoyed when waiting a while but please understand that sometimes the techs do get backed up and try there best to get stuff done as quick as possible bit sometimes do run into problems they we're not expecting to and try to take care of it and the techs please just ask that customers understand sometimes things happen that can't be controlled and that the customers be patient and I know since I've been with Mavis the Hudson location has gotten better and people enjoy there time there and from my point of view as a tech we are a very good crew in the Hudson store and we all work together and we always try to make sure the customer knows what's wrong with there car and we always make sure the customers are appreciated and we try are best to get cars in and out as fast as possible without problems and to make sure customers always come first read more
