Took my car to get tires and rotors change because it was making a noise when breaking. Almost $1000 later the car is still making a noise when breaking and at first they said it can happen a few days after because of the break dusk. Almost two months later it still making the noise and when we took it back they said to bring it back the following day because their mechanic called out. Took it back when they told us to take it back and their mechanic called out again! I think it's just ridiculous, two days lost of work and their customer service is horrible. read more

As suspected, I was lied to about them checking the tire pressure. Just a few hours after writing the review, I checked the pressure and they were ALL low! Three tires were 32 while one was 29 when they are supposed to be 36. The dishonesty is unbelievable so I suggest you do not go here for anything! Will not return. Although they were nice, they did a half-assed job and are way overpriced for a "discount place." I bought tires and the warranty from a different Mavis, but this location claims that only the tire rotation is covered under the warranty not the tire balance. FYI Mavis, most places will rotate your tires for free with an oil change so the warranty is crap (don't buy it). They said they would charge at least $25 for a basic headlight and $20 to install it so I went to Auto Zone next door for that instead. Here's a run down of the half-assed job they performed: I ended up getting the tire rotation, balancing, and oil change, but as I was driving away I noticed they took off the old "next oil change sticker" and failed to put a new one on the windshield. Also, the manager claimed that the mechanic checked the air pressure of the tires, but that was not on the receipt and it did not say what the tire pressure was at. Finally, the services should have taken 30 minutes altogether, especially since there was only one car before mine, but I waited there for a little over an hour even with an appointment. Overall, I found this place to be overpriced and not thorough. There are much better and cheaper places in the area where I will be going in the future. read more

I going to amend my previous review, I will tell you why today I decided to open my trunk and I discovered something very dishonest, I was at mavis for an oil change and other services on 1/21/2023, and at the moment I thought it was a great service and Joe gave good customer service, but today I checked my trunk to get some shopping baggage and found out my stuff in my trunk was changed of position, so far nothing was stolen that I can know, just noticed that I have purchased a 5 gallon motor oil for backup and place it in my trunk brand new near another half empty bottle from my daughter car, which are two different types of oils, well to my surprise my less than half gallon of 10-30 from my daughter car and my brand new gallon that was not opened 5- 20 was empty. First I don't understand why to replace my back struts he has to empty my trunk, and to replace my oil in my car he haded to use my gallons of oil, when I was paying for the oil change, I never requested to have it changed with my personal spare oil and change me with oils change. That's is despicable and dishonest , I will never ever come back or suggest this place to anyone. You know God don't like ugly, karma gets back to you, I am a honest person I believe you will get caught, I feel sorry for you and your business. read more

Mavis Discount Tire Lodi #537 144 US-46 E, Lodi, NJ 07644 "HORRIBLE SERVICE" I ordered tires for my 2016 Nissan Rogue from Amazon as they were more affordable than the dealership. With ordering from Amazon, they will have the tires shipped to the location of choice from their selection provided, and also included in the total of the tires will be the cost of service. Great deal in the initial stages. Amazon once again looking after the customer. I choose Mavis Discount Tires - Lodi, NJ #537 as this was close to home. Tires arrived, we called and confirmed so sounds like we are all set. Showed up to the location on 10/1/21 for my 11am appointment, things seem good so far. Left the car amd went to go get a bite to eat.  HERE COMES THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE LOCATION Then we received a call that they cannot locate  the tire lock to remove the tires to replace them. Odd... I am thinking it has to be in the car, I  would not remove it. Luigi, the person who I spoke to says if they don't have this, they cannot perform the service without it.  He assured me they have searched everywhere. So I called Nissan - Middletown, NY where I purchase the car, as they would have been the last to potentially used it. Spoke to someone and they told me they will normally use a universal tire lock during service, as they never go into the customer's car. He suggested places in the car where it can be located. He offered to get on conference to speak to Luigi and maybe guide him to where it could be. We did just that and it was unsuccessful. Nissan Middletown NY representative asked them if they have a universal tire lock they can use. In amazement they did not have a universal tire lock. Shocking! As they are a Tire Shop. We proceeded to call other Mavis locations in the area and they had a universal tire lock, but we were unable to transfer the service to a neighboring location. We spoke with the manager/front desk person (Indian looking man, a little heavy set) and he really did not offer any type of customer service or apology for them not being able to perform the service. He said he checked with the guys and no one had a universal tire lock kit they can use.  He said one worker had one but it broke. He said the other worker who he knows has one was not in that day and will be in on Saturday. So he told us come back. Thrilled that someone who works there has the tools needed and we'll get it done the next day. Still odd that the tire shop does not own one. But oh well.  The manager/front desk person then reschedule the appointment for 10/2 and he said they open at 8am but the guy will be there at 9am. The manager/front desk person said he will call us at 9am to confirm that they have the kit and we'd be all set. 10/2/21 is here. No call from the manager/front desk person on if they had the tools. Between 10/1 and 10/2 this man's attitude and level of service is pretty much just saying he doesn't need the business and quite frankly he doesn't intend to help us or even be honest with us.  Around 10:30am we decided to call before just showing up and being disappointed and pissed.  When we called he had us on hold for about 15 minutes, and we knew then that this was bullshit. He knew this worker didn't have the tools and he lied to us on 10/1.  He got back on the phone and said he doesn't have the kit with him. NOT SURPRISED PISSED!!!! So we called Amazon to see if we can transfer the order and service to another Mavis location, but unfortunately we were unable to do so.  So we processed a return of the tires and will now be going to Nissan to get new tires. Which is probably what we should have done, but aren't we all trying to save where we can these days. It's awfully wierd that a well known tire place does not  carry all the tools necessary to work with all types of tires and cars. Not to mention the horrible service offered by the manager/front desk person (Indian looking man, a little heavy set).  There was no sense of customer service or urgency. And also not providing transparency or honesty to the customer. I have visited Mavis before but that was my last. This location definitely adds a stain to the Name. Great customer service! I recently had a plug installed (is "installed" the correct term?) on one of my tires by a roadside mechanic, and a few days later I started to notice that the car was slightly vibrating when driving at higher speeds (65-70 MPH). I called STS to see if I could bring it in for them to check it out, and they told me to come on down. They removed the tire, completely inspected it, and they found no issues (they did recommend changing it relatively soon due to the wear of the tread). They fixed the tire pressure, balanced it for me, and they didn't charge me a dime. Imagine that?! I liked that they didn't pull the hard upsell and I like that they put my mind at ease...all for zero cost. Excellent corporate structure and excellent integrity! They have a location not far from our new home in Voorhees. They'll have my business when I DO need tires! read more

Finally got here to get my tire changed. Vinnie did an amazing job in giving me directions while I was trying to find the place and got my tire changed quickly. The longest part of the job was him trying to get approval from Wright Express, since the system had a glitch and took his store out of their system. If it wasn't solved quickly, he told me that he would just write everything down and do it after I left but we got it solved while I was there. Super professional and calming (dealing with Wright Express and incompetent sub contractors was really testing my patience). He wasn't sure why the Ridgefield Park location didn't go through the necessary steps to get my vehicle serviced since that location is about 6 miles closer to me and apologized on behalf of STS. Whoever owns this store should be very grateful to have Vinnie here. read more

Aman the manager was superb. Very personable and honest. I was on the road in a rental and got a flat. All the other tire shops were super busy and required a 4-5 hour wait on Sunday. Aman got me in and out in an hour. Some of the best tire service I received. He also handled customers while answering calls with ease. To Mavis: Give the guy a raise. You want to keep him around. Called in to check prices on a set of tires for my Ford Explorer. I spoke to someone on the phone that gave me a few options. I picked the option I wanted and made an appointment. I unfortunately missed my initial appointment and called and was courteous enough to call and reschedule. I went to my appointment the next day and cleared most of my day thinking that I would be spending it waiting for my tires to be replaced but was pleasantly surprised to receive very quick service. Pricing was accurate and they didn't do what most tire places do and try to sell you a bunch of other services which I appreciate. Went to mavis to get tires and brakes done. The guy in the front over charged me . When I asked for a refund he said he could not process it. Then I noticed he charged me for extended warranty that I did not ask for and the associate said if I refund you the extended warranty then I will take off the discount. How are you going to take the discount off when there is a special. This place rips people off. Never shopping at Mavis again. Now my sensor for my tires are not working. Never go to Mavis in Lodi. EXCELLENT SERVICE PATCHING A FLAT TIRE. I needed a small puncture in a Subaru Outback front tire repaired and received excellent service both at the counter and from Clifford in the garage. As I had my car towed here I was somewhat of a captive customer - and felt treated as such. Ultimately, I agreed to work of which not sure all was needed. Or that the Mavis salesman, Caesar (sales before safety appeared to be his concern), would have recognized was needed at first - they would have realized later what the tow truck driver saw in seconds before the wheel even came off. I was also quoted a lengthy repair time seemingly to justify given a small favor on a labor quote. But with the actual repair time about half what was quoted now only feel like I was ripped off on that labor component. The sad reality is that after $800+, i am unsure if the tires were the proper ones for a 4 wheel drive option vehicle (he only mentioned price, price, price even when i questioned suitability), the proper work was done at all and that I wasn't ripped off. Even though my brakes are warrantied here, I'll not likely return. read more

They are stealing from people. went in to check why tire air pressure was low even when I filled it with air and I just bought brand new wheels from them a week ago. They were charging 150$ for a piece that cost $41 in Autozone and then it turned out the piece didn't need t change a gasket needed to change and that is $5 in Autozone. talking about, "we will fix it for free if I bought the $150 piece". Glad my husband caught on and went to AutoZone and bought what was needed aven after they told him that he won't find the piece there and that only they carry it and the dealer. read more

My husband had his brake done coz he's hearing squeaky noise they told him he needs new brakes new rotor and caliper. My husband paid 450 and after 1 week noise came back then he put on just some kind of grease or lubrication and the noise still there he said maybe bearing.We went to another mechanic and we found out that the problem was the brake pad that Mavis used was not right for Nissan Pathfinder they used cheap brake pads not disc brake pads I would never come back in this place we even broke abs sensor because of this we paid Nissan to replace it for 250 read more

Quick service, extremely great follow up, and good prices...read some of the reviews and was skeptical about going but these guys really went above and beyond. The guy in the shop David went to get my tires from another store and then offered a discount for waiting. It wasn't even that long a wait, it showed he cared. Not sure his position but as long as he's there I'll be back for sure. I even sent my brother in law and he said the same David offered him a great price on his suspension. This is by far the WORST place to ever bring your vehicle! I took my car here because my tire was feeling like if was going to fall off, was told it was my lower control arms and brought it there to check it out and see what was wrong. They charged me $900 for a control arm replace and told me they checked my tires. Immediately after l was Driving my car felt exactly the same as when I brought it in like they did nothing to it! Next day I'm on my way to work on the HIGHWAY and my tire flys off ! I almost LOST MY LIFE ON THE FUCKING HIGHWAY! My wheel then proceeded to roll and hit 4 other windshields putting other lives at risk as well! Insurance adjusters said my control arm had to still be fixed which means they never did anything they were paid to do! Now they refuse to fix and or refund me for the "work" they did on my car! These people tried to KILL ME and don't even have the human decency to admit to or fix their mistake! Completely negligent and rude and HORRENDOUS customer service.
