I'll be honest, I HATE this company -- I've never had a good experience and walked away from them around Covid. Expensive TOO! Then I had a problem and would up at this location in New Milford. I now only come here for tire related issues. The staff are ALL great: super friendly, professional and helpful -- I can't say that about other Mavis locations. Their free air machine in-front is always broken (like at EVERY Mavis!), but they're nice enough to open the door and do your tires for you if you ask. Most of the time they offer before you even motion you need assistance. Until I experience a problem, which will likely be caused by corporate or a gouging on a pair or set of tires, I'll stick with these guys at this location only! read more

I put crazy miles on my vehicle and when it's brake time I need to get right in. I heard that first chirp from my brakes Friday evening. I call these guys at about 10 minutes before closing. I decide to do the brakes and the tires. They told me if I get there at 8 o'clock. They'll get me right in and out.... They quoted me the tires and the brakes. Pricing was Fair. While they were doing the work, they noticed an issue in my back axle that they brought to my attention and prevented an expensive problem for me. It wasn't a service they could provide, but I got that right in and taken care of so I didn't have a major repair down the road. made an appointment for my truck to get four new tires and an alignment. My appointment was at 10am. I dropped my truck off at 955am and was told it Would be about an hour & a half to complete the work. 2 and a half hours later, I called the shop to ask about the truck & if it was ready to be picked up. They had informed me they had not gotten to the back rear tires yet and it would be a little longer. I arrived back at the shop at 2pm to find my vehicle STILL up on the lift. When I asked the gentlemen at the front desk why my vehicle has taken so much longer than they quoted me he didn't have an answer. So I continues to wait while watching two employees walking around the shop bays on their phones. After 4hrs & 26 min I left with no intention of returning for future needs. read more

I sent my son to get his tire fixed (simple nail hole ) he called me all frantic saying that he needed all new tires and that the hole couldn't be fixed and that he needed to replace his sway bars etc He told me they quoted him at $890 for new set of tires and work to be done on the front end. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION!!!! I would give 0 stars if I could. We had an appointment scheduled on a Saturday and waited half an hour for them to start working on it. When we asked the timeframe the guy at the front desk (I think his name was Mark) rudely said we had someone infront of us. The waiting area was filthy, there was a huge moldy hole in the ceiling where the rain was leaking into a garbage can, and there was trash and spiderwebs all over. After another hour and a half of waiting, we were informed that the last tire they were mounting had a hole in it. He told us our options were to put 3 brand new 35in tires and one bald 33in tire on the vehicle and wait for a replacement to come in. That's dangerous, destructive to the vehicle, and just dumb. Our other option was to leave the car till Monday. We drove an hour to get the car worked on, so we'd have to somehow get a ride home and then get a ride back and be without a vehicle for two days. We asked if the old tires could be remounted and were met with resistance and we were told we'd have to pay for a remount and balance after it's "not his fault". We were later told by the front desk guy he wouldn't put them on at all. One of the techs was helpful and told us they would remount our old tires for no charge and he would take $50 off the entire order. While the effort is appreciated that is less than we are spending on fuel to travel back and forth extra times. It somehow only took 15 minutes for our new tires to be removed and the old ones to be mounted, "rebalanced", and put back on the car. After we dealt with this whole situation we drove home and the car had a horrible shake that the vehicle didn't have prior. Unfortunately it seems this location does not care based off their prior reviews and responses. I will be reporting them to the BBB as the moldy ceiling, I have pictures of, is unsafe. Was given the wrong size tire. Was mansplained that I was wrong. Drove over 1,000, on it on my AWD car and had my tranny blow up 3 months later. Finally found out through Subaru that it WAS because of the wrong size tire. Mavis even replaced my tie rod FOR FREE on that wheel, but has offered me $50, and has told me to "bug off" and it's not their fault and for me to "prove it". Bought my tires there, then went to have those tires changed to my snow tires. I made an appt for first thing in the AM before I had to run to work. Had to wait 3 hours!!! I was completely ignored, then over charged for tire change. My husband then followed up after... The "manager" aka troll look alike said we were not in the system. Showed said troll the receipt and he still refused to refund us the amount that was due to returning customers. I would avoid this place like the plague!!! read more

Has gone downhill fast. Since living in New Milford, I've bought all of my tires here and had general tire services done here with no issues about recommending them...newer mgmt has some time management issues. Called to get in to have tires rotated didn't want to wait forever, was told "bring it in around 3, we'll have you out in about 40 min" by Tom. Showed up at 2:55, same guy, "you going to be waiting for this...it's going to be about 4.5 hours." When I explained to him I called and talked to him earlier to avoid this and he said bring it in at 3 he just shrugged his shoulders and said, it's gonna be a long wait... Looks like I'll have to find a better place to buy tires and get services done. read more

Super nice on the phone when I called to ask if they had a replacement battery for my truck. Came in and was immediately greeted in the parking lot by one of the staff. I found everyone to be helpful, friendly, and attentive. Their prices were very reasonable and competitive (and much less than the other options nearby! Like $50 less!) I have been able to walk in and get a same day oil change multiple times and was done quickly and easily. I came in with a nail in my tire during a busy time and was still able to have it repaired same day for no charge. They were up front and honest about how much longer I could last on my current tires as I was waiting for construction on my road to finish before getting new ones. Overall a very respectful and polite staff who are always ready to help. Definitely recommend. read more

I have gone to the New Milford Mavis for tires and an alignment and just yesterday a brake job. The staff was polite and completed the work as they explained. They do try and upsell on other services but they are a business and it's understandable that my 17 year old car may need other work done. I declined any extra services and they were not pushy. This location has also been very accommodating to my weird schedule and need for same day appointments. If they didn't help me recently with a late evening brake job, I wouldn't have been able to get to work the next day. I will continue to get work done on my cars here as they are helpful and have always taken care of me. read more

Had a tire loosing air. it was pouring rain out. I pulled in at 7:50. The garage doors were open and the office door was unlocked even though they weren't open till 8:00 which I was rudely told when I walked in. I told Marco, the manager on duty I had a tire loosing air and asked if I could just pull it into the garage so no one had to get soaked looking at it or filling it with air to move it. He responded with "I'm on a conference call I can't hear you" walked back out to the van to make a phone call. Also asked the mechanic if I could move it inside. He told me not till the manager gave the ok. Again, was trying to save him from getting wet with a portable compressor. Walked back into office. Manager wouldn't even look at me till 8:00. He walked outside to check out the tire. Told me he could not plug as it had side wall damage. I accepted that. Tried to sell me a new tire. Declined as I have another set at home. I asked if he could have his mechanic just fill it with air. He said no. Just drive it to the public air pump outside which I didn't previously see. Not sure why he couldn't mention it earlier. I told him I couldn't the tire was now completely flat. He just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Went outside spoke with mechanic when rain let up. After Marco wouldn't even acknowledge him he filled it up with cheater compressor so I could get to their public air pump to drive it to an adjacent lot to change with my spare. In the past my wife and I had 2 other bad experiences their. Mainly with over booking and excessive wait times. Even after appointments are made with them. For that reason we haven't been here in a couple years. I see it's gotten worse here. This is crappy customer service at a whole new level. There is a reason this place has a rating of 2 stars. No one has good experiences their. Their are 2 other tire shops in town and will continue to patronize them and encourage you to do the same. read more

Run don't walk away from this place. I have taken several of my cars here for tires over the past 5yrs. This is why when I took my "New To Me M3" here for a Set Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires and thought nothing of it. First I called and spoke to one of the guys there either Tom or Brian. I should have known something was wrong on the phone, after I had to repeatedly tell the guy about 8 times I wanted "Pilot Sport 4S" tires. Each tine I mentioned it he would tell me about Michelin Pilot AS-4s. Back and fourth we went with that and finally he said yeap he can get them at a price of about $1,150 for the set. OK cool I asked him to hold that quote. I checked a few other places including Costco who quoted me a price of about $920. I called Mavis back spoke to either Tom or Brian and he said he could match that price. Sweet my favorite tire place is coming through for me again. I happened to be in the area few days later, so I figured I'd stop in and make an appointment. As soon as I walked in could sense the dark mood in the place. As I stood in line behind a lady also making an appointment, I could hear the service manager, (Tom or Brian) telling her, they have nobody to work, and that nobody want's to work and warning her that her turnaround time would be slow because "Nobody wants to work". Actually, what spoke more volumes than the words coming out this guys mouth, was the frown and expression on his face. His face was a complete frown and he looked extremely unhappy. I literally almost go out of the line, but I know ow much success I have had at this location before, so what could possibly go wrong. Next, it's my time at the counter. Same extremely depressing frown, and the same story about how nobody wants to work, and not to expect any kind of speedy turnaround. All of which was delivered with the darkest attitude I have ever encountered from anyone dealing with customers. Saturday, comes and get up at 6am to drive 45min, so that I can be the first one through the door. Like clock work they pull my car in first and appear to be getting ready to install my new ultra high performance tires, on my new ultra hight performance car (I was excited). While he (the frown guy) is checking me I notice abut 7 different customers filling in behind me. No worries here, I was first through the door and my car was already pulled inside and being prepped. I figured I'd go next door to get some breakfast, and my car would be nearly done by the time I get back. I come back in about 45min, and I see 2 or 3 of the customers who were behind me had already been taken care of and left, and the rest of them are all up on the lifts and being worked on. My car has not even been touched. So I sit and wait for about 4 more hrs, and I watch every single one of those original customers get serviced and leave. I then I watch new customers come in, get serviced and leave, while the frown guy is still frowning. Finally I'm the last customer still there and the frown guy tells a tech to go work on my car. Finally my car is done, and the tech who work on my car cant figure out how to reverse the car out. Then he starts marveling at it with his friends while sitting inside. I think by now Tom and Brian can sense my frustration, and they tell the tech to stop talking and just back the car out. I pay the bill and can't wait to drive my car with the new tires. Something tells me to check the name on the tires and the receipt. Sure enough they mounted and sold me the AS-4s tires. They sold me the exact tires that I told the frown guy numerous times "No Not Those Tires". Now I'm pissed. I walk back in and it takes every bit of my restraint not to shove that receipt down the frown guys frowning throat. The other guy who was older and a little more seasoned, was apologetic and said he would make it right. However, the negative frown guy never opened his mouth, and he was standing right there. The more professional guys tells me they will source the correct tires on Monday and make this right. So I roll out on the completely new wrong set of inferior tires, with the promise that by Monday they would have this problem rectified. Monday comes not a word from either guy at the shop. I call them at11:30am, and the angry frown guy tells me they haven't located the tires yet. I call back at 4:30pm, and the frown guy tells me again they haven located the tires yet. Now, I pull the plug and tell him I just want my money back, my original tires back on my car and I'm done. Still no apologies. I show up the next day to have my tires put back on, and the frown guy just extends his hand to me and says "Do you have the keys". He never even bothered to look up at me. Finally, the frown guy is processing me out, and not once does he say "We Are Sorry". Then comes the final insult which is what made me right this a week later. I Noticed today that they left all the valve caps off my tires. Run don't walk away from this place. Rank Amateurs. Next stop corporate.. read more

Absolutely terrible! DO NOT RELY ON THIS PLACE! I had scheduled a 10:30 am appointment and was told that I would get a call when finished. Went at 5pm because they were closing and was told that they didn't have time for me to get my oil changed! I asked for my keys back and told the gentlemen at the desk that I was surprised that they do not place appointments over walk ins. He rolled his eyes and told me to "yell at the other guy" because he had just gotten there so frustrating to see when employees care so little about the job and the business that provides for them. Not my first time there...but definitely the last. Not even an apology for keeping my vehicle all day and no decency to call and tell me that I should pick up my vehicle. I had come here to get my tires changed over for the winter season and to get an oil change. It took 2 hours. It should not have taken that long. The actual work took 25 minutes. The car was suspended, untouched for the rest of that time. It's cool. I'm just telling everyone I know to avoid this place, based on nothing else than slow inefficient work. read more

Dangerously incompetent crooks and liars. Made an appointment for 4 new tires. They don't give a damn about appointments, they don't honor them. Told me it would be early afternoon before it was ready - appointment was for 8:30. Just before noon, I get a call from them. Guy says I need new front brakes and rotors. That's funny, I thought to myself - they were replaced just a few thousand miles ago. Since they had my car, and I didn't want them to sabotage it, I told them I couldn't afford it right now. Guy said OK, car will be ready soon. Two hours later I called. Not ready yet. Just before 4:00, they call. It's ready. I arrive to get the car. Told the guy at the desk that it seemed funny that brakes were shot after only a few thousand miles. Driving home, something didn't seem right. Checked lug nuts when I got home. Lug nuts were so loose on one of the wheels I could tighten them with my fingers!!! So, they don't honor appointments. They will try to sell you parts and services you don't need. And they can't even do tires safely and competently. Three strikes, they're out. P.S. Had my regular mechanic look at the brakes. They looked almost new. read more

Awful customer service! My third and last time. I don't know why I wasted my time trying again. Convenience I guess but never again. I visited on a Sunday 10/14/18. I am aware that it's a busy day but I had a flat and just wanted to ask if it would be possible to look at it at some point of the day. Not one person greeted me, acknowledged me, or even looked my way. I stood at the counter for 10 minuets and was relieved when a worker finally came behind the counter. He was less then a foot away and fumbled some papers, grabbed a set of keys, did a few other things behind the desk then walked back out without saying a word. I clearly looked like I needed service and I assumed he may come back in but never did. I finally left, walking right by all of them and still not a word... unreal! Two new Conti tires, check. Oil change, check. Upsell to get new brakes, brake pads, no thank you. Wait time all of a sudden increased to 2.5 hours and magically they can't get the lug nuts back on my tire because the "threads some how got stripped" and won't go back in?? Hmm. Ok next day take to my mechanic, he buys new lug nuts and puts them in in 5 minutes. Tale of caution here. Watch the upsell and watch your wallet. Be careful here. There are a lot of good tire shops and mechanics in the area. Here is my story. I needed tires to be switched between cars. I called two days in advance and made an appointment for when they opened. I was the first one there, arriving early. I was told by the manager (I guess), that it would take a minimum of two hours. When I questioned the amount of time I was told "this is eight tires and would take two lifts to do. I had no option but to wait. They brought both cars in ten minutes later and they just sat in the bay. Now comes the worst part. While I was waiting a women came in and asked for her car to be looked at for a squeak. She had another car waiting for her and left. They brought the car in, put it on a lift, came back in after 10 minutes. I was watching, they didn't even take the tires off. Another ten minutes go by and they call her to tell her that the car needs major repairs. Guy even told her that she should sit down. He goes through a list of things that the car needs and tells the women the price, he also said they will throw in an oil change for free. After he hung up he looked at one of the other managers that was standing there and said "this is best I felt in a month". Totally took advantage of this women. At the one hour mark no one has touched my cars. You can't give this place less than 1 star. At this point I have no idea how they remain open. This is disgraceful to the brand. read more
