My pregnant wife had a flat tire last night and went to another service center who had told her it would not only be over 3 hours but that she could not leave the car or keys and there was no room in the actual waiting room. she was sitting outside.. So I started calling and Mavis said not only could they fit her in, they'd be done in less than an hour. That was exactly the case and very helpful along the way. This place is a scam I took my car to them because every time I apply the brakes my car would make this very loud grinding sound it got so bad I thought something may have fallen off, so i took it to Mavis, Whitney and her crew looked at the care she told me that the car needed breaks and a new caliper and roaters she quoted me a price over 700 dollars I was ready to pay this I mean this is the breaks, but I didn't have all of the money to cover it so she looked again and brought the price down to close to a little less than 500 dollars. I left my care overnight because they had to order the part and she would call when it was ready but she did not. After work I pick up the car it didn't sound 100%, the next day I drive to the market and the car started making that sound again come to find out the person who worked on my car forgot to put the bolt in to secure the caliper this is the contraption that holds the breaks pads it sounded like it was about to fall off, but, when I took it back I waited all day until closing until they finally completed my car. There is a lot more to this because the car did not make this noise until after I had my oil change with them. This is a serious business and I got a great deal. I thought I would need an alignment but Dave identified the problem and addressed that instead of charging me a lot more for something I didn't need. (which happens more than often at mechanics/auto shops nowadays). 5 stars for the excellent reliability and communication. So in light of the current Covid 19 affairs my tire situation came pretty much to a screeching halt. My last attempt to get new ones was at Q the Tire Doctors but it wasn't meant to be. With so many of us now out of work they back upped every time I drove by. Mavis isn't that far away from Q. but it's a different establishment altogether. Big clean garage space with tons of tire storage space. A large waiting area with a TV. Plenty of bold and colorful signage and a hefty quote for my needs. All told with four new tires, alignment and other labor and fees, they wanted to charge me 700.00 plus dollars. Scammy and maybe a safety hazard. I got a quote on their website for four new tires and their installation for about $500 so I made an appointment for today. When I arrived, the guy behind the desk said that "normal" installations need three additional things which would bring my total price to about $800. I told him I got a quote for a full package on the website and he said "yeah but" and explained that I could really only "safely" take out the additional warranty he quoted. So their website is either purposely leaving out installation items that are required for safety, or he was scamming me. Either way, I did not feel like I could leave my business in their hands. I feel disrespected and taken advantage of. Additionally, their shop says that masks are required in the shop but the guy who helped me was not wearing his mask over his mouth or nose and I could tell that he never did with the way the straps were hanging. The woman in front of me asked him to pull it up to help her but he only pulled it up over his mouth. Disrespectful of your clients. read more

Dropped my car off on a Sat night for a appt I had Sunday at 9 am to have 4 tires put on (I took the tires to them). They did not call me thay the car was finished so I called them at 4 pm and was told that a lug nut was stripped and that it would not be ready until Monday. I borrowed a car for work and did not hear from them so again I had to call them at 2 pm to find out what was going on. They said that the guy who started the job wasn't there. Really? Nobody else can do the job? I went down after work and was told that the guy who was off had the tool needed so my dad had to give them the tool to finish the job. First time in a long have a had a smooth time getting the car serviced. This location is fairly new and I initially scheduled an appointment for this coming Thursday. This morning I got a call asking if I wanted to come in today because they had openings. The lobby was as any car lobby would be and of course you can see your car getting serviced. I got two rear tires replaced and I was there for an hour. Normally, if I was at Walmart it WOULD TAKE FOREVER! This was a pleasant day for me to actually be able to get the tires done and go other things in one day. The guys were great and nice and I definitely will come back again if need be. This is the 3rd or 4th time I turned to Mavis, and they have yet to disappoint. Customer Service is always on point, and helpful in numerous ways. The mechanics actually take the time to discus and show items so as a customer you know what's going on, what options are available, and what will happen if untreated. I had an appointment for a simple brake pad change at 2pm, so I left my keys and did a little shopping at the center across the street, and was told the service would take about an hour. An hour later, when I was finished I returned to see my car hadn't moved from the parking space yet. An hour after my appointment time with I made a week in advance, they hadn't even brought the car into the garage. Counter clerk had no interest in customer service, giving an "it is was it is" response. Getting work done on your car is already a hassle because you're stuck waiting in whatever area the service center is in, and seeing that they don't seem to care about appointment times doesn't inspire confidence in a convenient trip. read more

Tj and the girl at the front (her name starts with a T) we're really amazing in explaining the breakdown of my bill and making sure I understood where my money was going. My typical Mavis was not giving out inspections at the time, so on a whim I chose the Hunting Park Ave location instead. I failed inspection and was given a list of four things I needed work on. I always order parts myself, have a mechanic with cheaper labor do the work, and bring it back to Mavis for the sticker. My mechanic refused to perform half of the work "needed" on the car and insisted that the current parts were more than fine and even recently replaced. Took my car to another Mavis after fixing the two parts that truly did need work, and passed right away. Not sure if this is a usual scam for the Hunting Park crew, being i'm a young female who would 'hopefully' just give in and pay $1,500 when only ~$500 of that work was actually needed, but never in my life will I be returning to this poor excuse of an establishment. read more

Woke up to a flat tire that only Mavis had the availability to fix in the timeframe that I needed. They fixed with no issues. The major issue arises at the fact that one of the technicians made this huge deal about my brake pads being 90% worn out. She made a huge deal over the phone and in person about the fact that I needed to change them out asap or risk danger. So I go to my reliable Pep Boys around 1, relay the message, and leave the car. So much time has passed that I call 30 mins before close to see what's the hold up. They literally say that they are trying to find something wrong with the brakes because they aren't seeing anything...because the brakes are only halfway used. They're literally laughing along with the company that handles my payments (fleet vehicle) because this Mavis tech doesn't know what she's talking about. That or trying to scam. Wish I could laugh too, but it's been 5 hours. Never go here for anything other than a patch. read more

The manager, TJ -- is trustworthy and helpful in giving his professional opinion about what you need fixed on your car. He tells you about the difference in the products in laymen's terms so you can make a confident choice. I've been coming here for the past year and can attest to the service and quality as well. After my previous review, I was contacted by the store manager who offered his apologies and a free oil change. I booked a new appointment for the inspection and was taken in quickly and efficiently and called right about 2 hours later when it was finished. I appreciated the better service and the discounts but wish it wasn't only because of my bad review. Sean is the assistant manager and wants SALES! I came into the store for two tires and wheel alignment, Sean contacted me because he recommended i her new brakes and rotors on the front and rear I asked him for a price and he stated that he needed to look to see if they had them in stock and would give me a call. I received a phone call stating that my car was ready for pick up. When i arrived to check out my total was ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!! I could've fainted because I am currently facing a financial hardship due to COVID. He stated that he put new brakes and rotors on the front and ordered pads for the back. I am still in shock that he never called me back with the price before servicing my car for brakes and rotors! Now I'm left to pay for a service i didn't agree too. I call upper management and they offered a $50 credit towards my next visit Ha! I WONT BE BACK!!!! Oh and the whee alignment seems worse than before read more

On 4/23/2020 made an appointment online to visit Mavis Discount Tire. Shortly after making that appointment someone from Mavis call, I miss that 1st call from them. I return stating I'm returning the call ,he then ask my name & tire #I told him I didn't know that. Then he said let me check if had that size. While on hold another came on phone stating we don't have the size & I can order I told him no thank you. Not 5 min later same guy call back & said we have the tire, I told him I be right there. Arrive at 9:30am only came to get tire's but of course he came to me numerous time saying I need brakes,brake oil,wheel alignment & my battery was leaking. I usually go to my family shop but didn't want on this day.So I let Mavis do all that. Let me tell u I been there from 9:30am-1:30pm after paying $892.07I drove 2 blk away & the light from tire pressure came on, so I made a uturn return to Mavis, never giving me a reason & why they just put air in the tire. I then return never leaving my resident. The following morning rd 5:45am on my way to work the same tire pressure was at 11.0 in which the pressure should have been 33.0, I call to let the manager no what,s going on he stated to me that I would have to wait till the next day because they busy. But I came anyway. While there 2 people walk in & ask if they could fit them in & of course the manager didn't have a problem them. But told he would be able to get me till tomorrow. After spending $892.07 the day before. I usually don't nothing but $892.07 really. Monday I'm calling corporal office & reporting this. read more
