I had two new tires purchased and installed at my usual dealership service center, and a week later, my two brand new tires began leaking air rapidly (like, dropping from 40 PSI to 22 PSI in ten minutes on the highway - not great!). I had to stop in at this Mavis to get the problem checked out, and Brandon was so great - listened to my entire story, was super chill and calm, and competently and swiftly diagnosed the problem as faulty valve stems that ought to have been replaced with the tires. He explained the physics of what happened, and showed me how to figure out if the same thing happens again (soapy water on the valve stem and push it to the side to see if it bubbles up!) if I ever need any car or tire service in Syracuse again, I will absolutely be heading back to this location! read more

FREE AIR We noticed one of our tires had very low pressure because it had gotten very cold outside. We at first went to the Mirabito gas station that was down the street, but their pump was broken. The tire service is professional, speed of service is as-expected, price is pretty good, but they have a "battery check" scam, where they pretend your battery is failing when it is not in order to upset a battery that you don't need. I didn't buy into it, but other people might. I don't continue to do business with liars, so i wouldn't recommend this establishment, unless you'redesperate. read more

We had car trouble after vacation and trying to get home. I was unfamiliar with the area and went to the closest shop. The staff was extremely accomadating and friendly. They understood our situation and being "stuck" with kids and an unsafe vehicle. They got the car in quickly, diagnosed the issue, and fixed it in a few hours so we could safely get home. After making an appointment at the Genesee St location a week out from the date of service, I called to confirm my appointment and they said not to even bother coming because they were so busy. Good thing I called, or else I would have shown up for no reason. After that, I called this location and the nice gentleman on the phone said to bring the car in within the hour. Service here was fantastic and the guys here are really great. They took a little longer because they were busy, but I can't complain because they fit me in that day! Bagged up my snow tires and loaded them up nicely into my trunk. Will definitely be back here! read more

Steer clear of this place. Get in your car and literally drive away from this shop. Now I'm new to Syracuse, but I know that getting tires when it starts to snow is important, which is why I called ahead on Monday and made a reservation to get new tires. This morning when I walked in to the store, I noticed how busy it was after the first real snowfall in the area but thanked God I thought far enough ahead to make an appointment. I wanted to get four things done: replace the battery in my key, get new tires, change my washer fluid and get an oil change. The clerk told me that they don't do batteries or washer fluid. Okay. Fine. An hour later, my car still hadn't been pulled in. My local dealership said that they'd be able to do all four of my things so I went to cancel. The clerk says that they'd do the washer fluid for me after all and it'll only be an hour and a half. Fine. An hour later I'm still waiting for my car to be worked on. And so the hours roll by with me asking how long and being told that I'm next or that I'm almost done with this and we just need to wrap up that. Finally after I'd been there for five hours, I told the clerk that I'd just cancel whatever was left to be done so I can leave. He tells me that they're just pulling the car out so I can pay now. $600 and 10 minutes later of me standing outside in the cold, I go back inside only to be told that they're just "finishing up." Almost 30 minutes go by before the garage opens. Then I'm waiting for someone to just back my car out. Another 5 minutes. Finally, I get ready to get in and the mechanic hops out leaving the chair cover and paper mat in. I ask him to take them and I lift them only to find that my mats have been soiled. When I ask him about it, he says that he wasn't the one who drove it in. I will never, no matter how bad it gets go to this place or suggest that anyone does. Took my car in for a simple wheel swap - my Jack broke, so I just needed them to install four mounted, balanced snow tires. (At Firestone this is $5/wheel...) First, tattooed Vito treated me like he was doing me a huge favor by even talking to me. Really lousy customer service. He could not tell me how long the job would take, so I walked home. When I called, the guy on the phone was irritated with me for bothering him and said he didn't know when they would be done. When I finally went to pick it up, Vito tried to charge me $55. I was shocked, and I suggested that that was way too much. His manager then "discounted" the job to $35. Seriously? To change four wheels? Got in the car and drove off... to find that none of the TPMS sensors had been reset, two of the tires were at incorrect inflation pressure, and the steering wheel was covered in grease. Great work, guys. What a mistake I made going in there. read more

Service was ok and some of the staff are really friendly. But I had to come back several times after having my tires put on backwards and had a valve which was said to be replaced, leaking sealant. Came back twice and still had the trouble.Finally got my snow tires switched and they had the nerve to put the tires back into my car with fabric seats without bags. They got my seats beyond dirty!!! This is unacceptable and ridiculous. I've never had this happened. I honestly want a refund and will be contacted corporate. After getting tires switched. I drove on my way to Nyc and on 81 south, noticed the car was shaking and wobbling. Got off at cortland, went to Mavis. All tires were not torqued. I was told by an employee at the store in cortland, a bunch of bolts on all the tires were all lose, some needed a full rotation before the torque even kicked in! I was told my tire would have flew off at 65/70 mph if I kept driving, and I had 150-200 miles to drive. This would have cost my life potentially! This is ridiculous read more

My husband, daughter and I were driving home from vacation when our serpentine belt broke and left us stranded. We googled auto places that were open on a Sunday and found Mavis tire on S. Salina st. I called and spoke with the front desk, told them the trouble we were having and he said he could take a look at the car. We had to get towed there and within an hour and half they had us fixed up and back on the road!!!! These guys work fast and thorough and were so kind to us!! Unbeatable service! Terrible customer service, works who don't want to work money hungry and don't really care! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR THERE. I went there for an alignment, four new tires, and an oil change. Left my car on a Sunday did not get my car back to the next Saturday. When I picked my car up I only had two new tires, alignment was still off, my back light was broken and my breaks were squeaking. I never experienced such bad service with a garage before. I don't not recommend and the District manger is just as bad. This place made me so uncomfortable. I had an appointment to buy new tires and have them put on. I walk in the assistant manager is behind the counter no mask. I tell him my name and what i'm there for and he replies with "ugh i don't want to." I just stand there awkwardly and hand over my key. I sit down and wait 45 minutes. No one has moved my car they haven't even started; and i have listened to the assistant manager be rude to other people who came and were understandable upset that their cars were not ready yet. I also notice no mechanic is wearing a mask and given how high numbers are I don't want strangers without masks in my car. I decided none of this was worth the risk for two tires so i got my key back and left. will not ever go back. read more

The manager in bawldwinsville made it very very difficult for me. My insurance policy spoke to him many times, he was provided all the information he needed, I presume he just didn't want to, or failed to do the paperwork that he should have done. He was requiring something from me that I did not have, and I had to call the insurance company from the store and provide the information he was already given. He acted as if it were out of his kind heart that he allowed me to do that!!!! (No payment, no car.) I thk his name was Tom. It took several hours in the heat.
