i purchased new tires for my dodge diesel truck 11/29/219. the odometer reading was 201600. in mid june i drove to california. the tires had been driven about 400 miles total. the right front tires blew out 4100 miles later at mile marker 36 about 18 miles east of gallop, nm on us 40. we were in the fast lane going 75mph. the truck careened through the median strip into the oncoming lane. i was able to wrestle it back to the median before going head on with a semitruck. after placing the spare on the truck we retraced out drive back to gallop and replaced both front tires. 700 miles later the right rear tire schreded. we had to replace both back tires in dallas. the dodge dealer said the remaining tires were unsafe at any speed. i reported the defects on mavis's problem line from gallop on 6/28/20 the day the first tire destructed. after getting home i drove to the local shop i originally shopped from. they viewed the tires and said they would talk to me later. to date i have had no contact. i'm out $432.12 for the front tires and $509.41 for the back tires. i'm also out $20 more from some rim damage repair in texas. plus the tire well and body damage is estimated at $3,150.35. i also lost about $600 in unforseen travel costs for a total of more than $4,700. very poor business practice displayed here. i have retained an attorney since they haven't responded at all. read more

I originally had tires put on my truck early this year when this was an NTB location and unfortunately they misplaced my enterprise fleet card. When I went to get a tire repaired recently the store manager refused to take my truck without that card even though I could provide him everything he needed to do HIS job. I turned my truck in at the Alpharetta store Saturday morning needing ONE tire. NO COMMUNICATION from this operation until I called Monday asking about my truck. The response I recieved was sorry the delivery truck broke down. No communication AT ALL again all day tuesday and what do you know "Oh the delivery truck just got here so it won't be until tomorrow morning. Called again because you know they're so good about communicating and sure enough we're about to pull it in now. NOPE..... two hours later I did that customer service thing and checked on my own vehicle and you'd never believe it--- We haven't gotten to it yet. I showed up at their store 5 minutes before they closed and they had just finished putting that ONE tire on after having my truck for FIVE DAYS and you'd never believe it if I told you but they LOST MY ENTERPRISE CARD! The store manager has no clue how to run an operation and treat customers right. NEVER AGAIN. Too bad because when that store belonged to NTB it was a great operation. read more

This is regarding the Hacketstown NJ location. I have been going to Mavis for years, recently I've gone in twice to fix an issue. an older gentlemen was working the counter and took a while to check people in and get the line moving. The first time, after sitting there for a half hour, he told me it was going to be a while and I should go home and he would call me when they were ready to take me. He called when the store was closing at 8:30 and left a voicemail saying they could take me first thing the following day. I already found a different shop to do the work. Well, I had a similar issue happen again and figured I'd give Mavis another try. Again it took a long time to check in with the older man at the counter. I was there for a few hours, however the michanics are friendly and honest about issues with the vehicle. Vincent and Scott were so helpful and took their time figuring out the issue. Even though the customer service at the front counter may be slow and unprofessional (a lot was written down on sticky notes and not put into the system) the michanics are Knowledgeable and helpful. read more

I had made a 6 hour trip to see my mother in the hospital. Long stressful day, meeting with surgeons and making plans for life changing circumstances. Spend more than 10 hours at hospital. Once I get to parking area, I find my car has flat tire. Call my guardian Angel at AAA for my rescue. David arrives and tells me tire can not be repaired. But recommends MAVIS TIRE. We are able to get tire to hold enough air for him to follow me to MAVIS about 4 miles away. It was closing time. I was in desperation mode, needed to get home before my 6AM shift for work and I still had 6 hours to drive. That's when God placed Nick (Manager) in my life. I explained my troubles to him. He assured me if I could be patient he would take care of me. It was already closing time, he only had one tech there. These two men were amazing and got me back on the road in a short time. This experience at MAVIS was exactly the way God commanded."love one another" the way that I love you. My blight ended with two strangers hugging and wishing each other Merry Christmas. Needed new tires for my CRV. I did some research and called around to several places to compare tires and prices. I called Mavis in York, PA. The guy I talked to was very helpful, and pleasant to talk to. He gave me pricing on several tire options, answered all my questions and got me in the shop the same day. When I arrived Mark helped me decide on the best tire for the money, I got four tires, oil change, new wipers, they check the brakes and rotors and also got the wife's car an oil change and wipers while we were there. Mark kept us updated as the work was being done. With the discounts and coupons provided, I was able to get a better tire and the extra work done at Mavis for less money than what I was quoted at the other places just for the tires! I had a great experience at the York, PA location and look forward to having them service my cars in the future. I recommend that you give this place the opportunity to earn you business! read more

After scheduling an appointment with the 1-800 number we were not given the price we were quoted. I specifically asked for the price with balancing and lifetime rotation. The store 135 added balancing cost onto the bill and would not honor the quote I had received because the corporate person did not include it in the righght up. Upon investigation the person I spoke with assumed it was included. However this did not change my request and the quote I received. While at the store on a Sunday, the customer service person was rude and demeaning. The store manager's remedy was to offer a free oil change and review camera footage. Upon scheduling an oil change all information was lost for review. The oil change that was to be honored at any store now had multiple issues attached. So we are saying good bye to Mavis. There is a corporate wide issue with customer service. It's like trying to stack feathers in a strong wind. read more

Ths is 4 the Lawrenceville Mavis shop! I took my car in 4 a basic oil change / battery check on Oct13,& what shld ve been a lovely experience turned out tu b a nightmare. On leaving the premises the battery lite came on & I ws tld a belt was missing . The manager Adam told me np we wld order the serpentine belts , Bt the techs struggled tu install belts & once installed the engine wld nt turn over so they had tu transfer the car to another Mavis shop . I ws tld in installing there ws damage to the crankshaft sensor& harmonic balancer .Well after a month in the shop I finally gt my Mazda bk on Nov 10th . However , I want tu applaud the manager Adam cuz he turned an awful experience intu a wonderful one . He displayed a level of concern , empathy & total consideration thru out the experience & the day of pic up . I thank him & will return again . read more

Would have given this place one start if it were an option. Called in the morning told tire would be in by 1:30. Arrived at 2pm to have it installed and decided to wait. Was not told they did not have the tire. Three hours, three hours later asked for an update and store manager told me they didn't have the tire. Told him to take my car off the lift and told him what he could do with the tire. Update the following morning....got a call from the district manager who was very professional and sympathetic. He acknowledged they let me down and is solution to "make it right" was very generous so I decided to give them another try. I was in and out this morning in about 30 minutes and the store manager went out of his way to be helpful, pointing out an issue with another tire that had gone unnoticed. My boyfriends brakes went out to the point the pads were gone and calipers were a mess. We went to Mavis on 4th in St.Pete. Both Jimmy and Jerry were amazing. Because of Jerry we were able to finance(thank god) and get so much done. Jimmy was very honest and thorough about what needed done. No one there tried to hassle us, scam us or try to convince us that we needed more then we did. Jimmy even went out of his way to come pick us back up when we needed to get back to the shop and prevented us from having to walk a few miles to get back. With all this being said if I could give them 10 stars I would. I have been going to Mavis for over 2 years now and everytime I go in,get the problem fixed at a reasonable rate and feel better knowing my vehicle has been taken care of. I got a quote from the Mavis sales rep on 8/29/2020. We both looked at the stock available on the computer system and agreed on a price. The sales rep said to return the following morning at 9 am and I arrived on time. Waited 1 hour for the tires to be installed. After one hour and my car on the lift with all four tires removed, the slimy sales rep came to me with a problem. He said the tires were not in stock and I had to wait another hour, or buy a more expensive tire that was in stock. During my conversation with the sales rep, things got heated and he refused to ware his mask. Very rude and terrible business practices. David Sorbaro is the CEO and he should be aware of deceitful business practices at this location. read more

The Mavis shop in West Hempstead provided great service for my husband twice 1st when they installed tires we purchased on our own for our Volvo and again today when my husband had to bring it back because he thought something was wrong with the tire sensors. The tech told me husband the truth that they would check it out and that he didn't think it was one sensors. Sure enough he was right he told my husband it just needed to be recalibrated and we also had the replace our wind shield wipers. If that had been the dealership I am certain they would've gotten us for new sensors even though we didn't need them and God only knows what else. My husband says he'll definitely do business with Mavis again! read more

cple months ago went in to the ithaca ny mavis to have 2 studs replaced well they did replace them but whoever put the lug nuts on stripped one and today i went to change to snow tires an low an behold one of the ones they replaced was a bitch to get off well i finally get it off an its stripped all to hell.So i go into mavis today at 10:45am wait 30min tell the front desk giy my issue which by the way long hair an a backwoods beard very unprofessional, and he doesnt wanna hear it so the messed it up stripped it an wanna charge me again for something that never shoulda been stripped leaving mavis tire shop i will never go there again we spend alotta money there an they just lost a long time customer. read more

Please beware when buying gift cards for Mavis. I received one for Christmas and when I tried to use it, it had apparently expired. It expired 6 days after purchase.....when I called customer service, I spoke with a gentleman named Joe. Joe could not have been more dismissive, told me I was basically shit out of luck cause it was expired, and there was absolutely nothing he could do. It was a $300 gift card, not like $20!!!!! Luckily, Russ from my location took my situation into account and helped me out. Could not rave enough about Russ. Extremely helpful, professional, and understanding. I had a great experience at Mavis Discount Tires and Auto Parts today. I went to get my back windshield wiper replaced. There were tons of customers on line waiting to check out but Ray, one of the mechanics, came out to my car to check which one I needed and then came back out and installed it for me. He took my credit card inside, ran me up and came back out to give me my card and receipt back. Amazing service. Both he and one other employee I interacted with were very friendly and accommodating. I'm new to the area and I'm definitely going back to this Mavis when I need car repairs in the future. I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to this time. read more

The service and attention to detail of Dustin and his team at the Buford store at 1920 Buford Mill has been amazing. Took my Kia in for one issue that they fixed, and they ended up discovering that my engine was actually failing and told me to go to Kia and have it looked at. Kia confirmed my engine was indeed failing and is replacing it. Dustin has responded timely to a few requests of mine regarding my warranty and other issues with patience and understanding. This company saved the day. Got into a minor fender bender while traveling to NYC for the day. The gentleman that waited on us was not only friendly but he also fit us into their busy schedule they had that day. After 45 mins I was back on the road, they temporarily fixed my rim so I could travel back to PA and only charged me $12.49! Couldn't be happier with the friendly service and honesty of this location. Also overheard him tell another customer that he didn't need tires as well when they could have easily made money being dishonest like many places would do. Job well done!!! read more
