Beware of Mavis in E Stroudsburg Pa. Vehicle broke down on I-80 headed into Penn. Towed vehicle to Mavis on Cortlandt St. Manager was courteous and helpful. They were able to fix my front passenger hub and rim. The problem was the technician stole $175.00 tool from me. I know he stole it because he questioned me about my tool box in the back of the car. "Is that your tool box outside the vehicle on the ground" ? Yes, it is . "Ok, no problem I'll put it back in the car". Once I got home the tool was missing. Called the shop and was told, " oh no one knows what your talking about and we didn't see it. I know I had the gun, since I used it that day at the junkyard, while they we repairing my car. I can't believe he would stoop so low. He took it and he knows I know he took it. I have a witness who was with me at the time. So, no it's no a case of I misplaced it, when it was in there when I pulled in to pick up the car. read more

Horrible customer service and they will give one of the worst quality service. They sell cheap products and they come up with 10,000 complaints on the car and take money from your wallets. They are the most horrible and people don't even talk properly to you. If there is zero stars I would have given it. And the guy at the counter Brian and Omar and horrible !!! I went to Mavis after doing my tire research online and found them to be competitive. First, I was a little disappointed because the per tire price quote by the store was higher than the online price. However, they did do a little better for me. Second, I went to get the tires put on and, of course, they always find other problems to bring to your attention. At least they didn't badger me into unnecessary repairs. Lastly, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The total time was about 3 hours. All in all I would recommend Mavis. read more

Poor service - I hit something on highway and knew something was wrong with the steering. Mavis told me I needed new inner tie rod plus alignment, and front brakes. When I picked the car up it wandered all over the road and tires squealed - they had not aligned wheels and there was severe toe-out. When I showed the manager he graciously aligned it without charge. When I got home I wondered how the rest of the job looked only to find the new tie rod boot protecting the rack and pinion steering did not have a clamp and was off the steering housing. I called customer service 3 times and was told the first time someone would call me back soon, the second time the rep in on a conference call and will call me when she is done, then the third time the district manager will "investigate" and has 24-48 hours to get back to me. I will update with results of the "investigation" - will be interesting if the investigate without looking at my car! read more

Came in to have front rotors and pads replaced. Had to bring my vehicle back two days later because the rotors were found to be defective.. then to Add insult to oversight, I waited from 11:03 am until 3:00pm before the correction was made. Next time I will go with another brake shop. The customer service is very mediocre especially for the business to be at fault for my need of a second repair. There was also a huge lack of disregard for my time, I was given no priority. Your experience may be different however, this will be my last time here read more

Prices are good but follow-up customer service is poor. I purchased a full set of run flat tires from them last years. About 8 months later, my tire sensor came as low for the right front tire. I ran by for them to check the tire because I was needing to go to care for my elderly mom who lives like 120 miles away. They were not busy, so they had me pull up to the open bay. The guy just added air to adjust tire pressure. I don't think he looked at the tire. Half way to my mom's on the road, the tire sensor light came back on. This time red. Thank God for run flats! Found a Mavis tire near my mom. They plug the tire. Now, the same scenario. Take it back to this location for them to check the tire. I also ask them to rotate the tires. I have an appt. I wait 2 hours. They didn't rotate the tires. When asked why, the technician tells me he didn't know. He politely said I could wait and he would do it. I go back into the store. There is a line. The person at the desk ignores me. On top of that, they trashed my car. I get in and there is napkins on my floor board. I'm trying to figure where they came from. I don't leave trash in my car ever. I discovered they had pulled them out of my console, where I found everything in the console tossed and in disarray. I couple hours later, I went in my trunk. They had tossed everything in my trunk side pockets and my reuseable shopping bags all over the trunk. WTH??? Piss poor!!! I rather pay more than deal with this incompetent service. read more

On 1/4/2020 I took my vehicle into Mavis Discount Tires because the AC was blowing hot air.  Agency repaired a hose and recharged the system.  AC started blowing hot air again and I took tbe vehicle back to Mavis Discount Tires on 8/21/2020.  The agent informed me that the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced.  That the compressor rotated the belt and the car would not operate with a bad compressor.  Note I was able to operate the car with the AC running even though it only blew hot air.  Question in hindsight, was the compressor really the problem.   Agent also strongly advised that the condensor be replaced.  Stated that the condensor works but may stop working because the compressor releases particles that could cause damage.  I asked how long before the  condensor stopped working. He informed me that he could not say how long the condensor would last. I had the compressor repaired with the understanding that the condensor was working but would need replacing soon. I decided to delay the repair of the condensor and picked up the vehicle.  For a third time the AC started blowing hot air.  On 8/31/2020 returned the vehicle to Mavis Discount Tires to correct the problem.  Right away the agent stated that the condensor had a major leak and claimed that they informed me of this before repairs at the last visit. I noted that I was never, at anytime, informed of a major leak in the condenser. I also noted that the condensor was not in working condition if it has major leak.  It is ridiculous to believe anyone would make an $898 repair to fix the compressor when the condensor has "a major" leak which will cause the AC to blow hot within a matter of days. Seriously,  would an ethical business make a $898 repair knowing the car would be back in a matter says for the same problem.  For a fourth time the vehicle is blowing hot air.  Returned to Mavis Discount Tires  on 9/10/2020.  No telling what the will charge me this time.  On top of the predatory practices, these people kept my car for two full days when they said it would be ready the same day. They never called me to provide repair estimates or repair status.  They also failed to return follow-up calls after I called to inquire about progress.  This is third time I had to return my car to Mavis Discount Tires for the same repair. They don't seem to be able to diagnose the problem and completely resolve the problem.  The same problem keeps recurring(AC blowing hot air) after their repairs.  They keep finding new repairs and new cost for the same problem.  Completely unprofessional and  predatory.  Never take your car here. read more

I will never pay to have my oil change at this Mavis ever again. I was charged $46 for oil! Oil! I can get an oil change, new filter and multi-point inspection plus labor at the dealer for the price I paid for oil at Mavis. What a rip off. read more

Don't bother. Set up an appointment and when I arrived they took my key and confirmed what I wanted done. They said it would be 2.5 hours and that they would call me. Approximately 3 hours later I called to get an update and I was informed that they hadn't even started on my car. I got several excuses one of which was they had a lot of walk-ins. Well, what's the point of making an appointment when you take walk-ins over those customers with appointments? To borrow from Seinfeld - Anyone can make an appointment, the trick is to actually perform the work at the agreed upon time. So I just came and picked up my car. They said they really wanted to deal with me, offered discounts and to come back the next day. It's not worth it. I'll find someplace else. Ironically, I mentioned this experience to my next door neighbor and his reaction was "Yeah, the same thing happened to me!". Just to be clear, this was the location on Cheshire Bridge. I really hate writing negative reviews because I believe everyone has a bad day here and there especially if you've ever worked dealing with customers. I've been to this place twice and I LOVE THE TV SET UP. Unfortunately if you come here for any minor service you will wait hours. This is one of those, my buddies get in first no matter who's waiting type of establishments. My car waited in the parking lot for two hours... while people that came in after me were able to get tire rotations without appointments. When I asked why I've been sitting here for 2 hours to get a head light bulb replaced I was told "oh your one of those". JIFFY LUBE had no issues changing the bulb but somehow at mavis they would have to take the bumper off. I'd much rather you tell me in the first idk hour that you can't do it especially when I showed up and there were only two cars. I'll be reaching out to higher management read more

They deserve absolutely no stars. IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE DO NOT USE MAVIS DISCOUNT TIRES. My wife took our car to this location in February and the experience was awful. She went there because I said let's try them. I had heard their advertisements on WFAN for more than two years and thought if Evan and Joe endorsed their business then I would try them. So when this location opened last year and when I viewed the prices on line, I thought why not. Well, she went in with a budget of $500 and explained this to the service attendant. She explained to me, that it seemed every five minutes the attendant returned to her with some problem that was discovered. Not out of the ordinary, right? Well they said we needed front brakes. A fact we already were aware of. Yet, at this point the brakes were not squeaking, squealing or showing signs they needed immediate attention. The attendant explained to my wife that the pads would cost $70 each, the shoes $100 each, and we needed a joint bar. Total cost $2000. My wife explained she just needed tires for now. The attendant pressed a bit but my wife stood fast. Then he says she needs the power steering flushed. The cost $79. My wife asked if that would put her over budget. No, the attendant assured her. Well, in the end, the total was over $500. My wife commented and the attendant chose to remove the tire warranty to get the price within budget. My problem, in case you don't understand is this place added a non-safety cost to the bill to make money instead of either not adding any additional costs or putting the safety of my wife and children before a buck. To top it off, the brakes started squealing, squeaking, pulling and very poor. Plus the joint bar (which a friend that is a military mechanic, had checked and saw no problem) broke off. I can't prove these people did this but after my wife completed the survey and explained this situation and I emailed the corporate office and they did respond; I decided to let you all know and hope you do experience this too. read more

The service was honest. I had a tire with slow air leak. I could not find the source. Before I went there, I called to see if they had the particular Toyo tire I thought to be replaced. They said yes. I went there. It turned out the problem came from a nail and not need to be replaced. So they fixed it with expensive replace. read more

I called the stores to get a price quote on tires I found them to be very rude and aggressive. I would not patronize these stores.

My 8 AM Friday January 22. appointment was to install 2 new tires on the front of my 2017 Elatra. It took almost 2 hours. The water cooler had no cups. Nate apologized and offered to locate some. He asked if I had a water bottle in my car. I replied no. He left and never located cups. When he did return, he said the installation is taking longer than expected, saying that the both wheels where "frozen" to the drums. Said it was not uncommon?. I had to use the lavatory. It was filthy. The seat was down. I looked for toilet paper or a paper towel to raise the seat. BOTH containers were empty. I used a page from a magazine that was left on the toilet tank. I paid my bill. I did see through the window that the tech put on gloves before returning my car to parking lot. (one star) While driving home, I noticed a very harsh ride. The front tire pressure reading on the dash indicated 39 lbs and 38 lbs. Specs are 33lbs. I called Nate. He told me to bring it back. I don't think so. I will go to another Manis location. read more

Do not go to Mavis if you can avoid it. My experience there was terrible. They are the Jiffy Lube of tires. Constantly trying to up-sell, then, they broke my tire pressure gauge, and tried to sell me a new one for $70. This was after I was told that I called the call center and they negligee to inform me of a $7 charge for something. Okay, $7, I can do that. Then the guy comes to me and says the call center recommended the wrong tire, so now the tire that I needed was $145, not the $125 I was quoted over the phone. THEN, he comes to me with the broken tire gauge saying that it would be $70 to replace. I called them out on this one. I explained that the gauge was working when I drove there. It was. It told me that the tire I was going to replace was 25lbs and all my other tires were at 37. When I said I needed to speak with someone hire up they immediately said they would "take care of it". From $70 to "we will take care of it". If I didn't call them out on it who knows how far they may have pushed to sell me more crap. Finally, when it was time to pay, the worker says "sorry man, Sh*T happens". REALLY!!! this is your response??? WOW. very professional. Do yourself a favor and avoid going here. read more

Got a nail in my tire, brought it in for repair - after I left, the TPRM light came on. I scheduled an appointment to have the light fixed, even took off work. Made an online appointment for service. When I went for service, they would not honor the appointment - said I had to wait 3 hours. I left and went elsewhere - turns out the Mavis technician installed a plain rubber tire sensor instead of the correct one. I have been a customer for years, besides enduring extremely slow service and not honoring my appointment , I lost faith in their technicians ability. I would recommend you go elsewhere for your auto service. read more

I took my car to Mavis to have my brakes repaired as they were the ones who replaced them another time. In the exchange, I mentioned that I was having some difficulty with electrical issues and that I would be taking my car to the dealership after they finished with the brakes. One of the mechanics said he thought it was possibly an alternator issue and they would be happy to check it for me. That afternoon they called and said the alternator should be replaced and that should take care of the electrical issues bc my car was known for being finicky when there were alternator issues. I agreed to let them replace the alternator and when I picked up my car the next day none of the electrical issues were fixed. They had not even bothered to check. I called the manager when I got home, he had heard the entire conversation, encouraged me to bring the car back so they could fix the issues. Over the last 10 days they have had my car 5+ days and as of Monday had given up. I have just received a call from Jim the manager that there is nothing more they can do. So, I am out 1k, was without my car for 5 days, my car is not fixed and I have no idea if I needed an alternator but they sure needed to take my money. These people are crooks and liars. I will be reaching out to the corporate office but according to Jim, the corporate office was the one who told him there was nothing they could do. read more

I was very disappointed in Mavis Discount tire. I spent $1200 having new tires installed and other service at their recommendation. I received an email subsequently, telling I was do for an oil change and free tire rotation. I made an appointment online for 10:30 am on a Saturday and arrived 15 minutes early. This was for only an oil change and tire rotation. By 12 noon, my car still had not been brought in and I was told after I asked that there were still at least two ahead of me. I cannot spend my whole Saturday having an oil change. I will not be back and sorry I bought my tires there. read more

In late January my 19 yr old daughter took her car to the Mavis Tire located in Concord NC to have a nail removed. They gave her a huge grocery list of things that were wrong with this car. They also told her that the oil cooler and radiator needed to be flushed. So the next day to the tune of $400.00 they were supposed to replace the oil cooler and flush the radiator. She got the car back and the oil pressure light was coming on after being driven for a few miles. The next day the care was taken back and the technician had broken the oil sending unit, and they were trying to say that the car had a blown head gasket. I paid them to replace the oil sending unit. I left with the car and I drove it to a qualified Volkswagen technician. After many diagnostic tests, the qualified technician doesn't get a positive test for a blown head gasket. So I began to call customer service, I am told several times that Paul who apparently is the district manager will call me by the end of the day. A week later, I have not heard from Paul. So I call back again, I am told that Lee who is apparently the regional manager will be calling me back. Lee calls and he is very pleasant to talk too, and I am thinking that hey now I am going to get somewhere with this. So I tell Lee what's going on, and he wants to speak with my qualified technician. I arrange this. The next phone call I get is from my qualified technician telling me that Lee was very rude to him, and states that pretty much there are conflicting stories, and that my daughter asked them to check the oil residue in the coolant, and that she asked for the repairs. But the grocery list that she was given when they were supposed to remove a nail from her tire reflects differently, and that ALL calls and conversations in the store are monitored. Well I call Lee back and I ask him to hear those audio recordings and I am told no that those recordings are for the use of Mavis Tire only. He was very rude to me and pretty much called me a liar in not some many words, but I have the grocery list of problems they found while they were supposed to be removing a nail from the tire. read more

On the plus side, they are open on Sunday. I called and made an appointment and was told that I should come right in. I get there in about ten minutes and they tell me it's an hour wait to get my tire plugged. I said I had an appointment they said well other people came in and I can't skip them. So they chose to skip me, the person with the appointment in the first place. Even if the plug is awesome, I will probably not come here again, except in an emergency. Very frustrating experience With Mavis Tire today. I used them for tires twice before, but I will never give them my business or recommend them in the future. The long wait times are just part of the issue. After misinformation over the phone about my tire warranty and a 1.5 hour wait before my car made it to a lift, I left and went to Sams Club for my tires. Check Consumer Reports for Tire Discounters ratings. Mavis is second from the bottom, and deservedly so. Their prices are so so, but their promise of free rotation and balancing is attractive. Problem is that they won't take appointments for this "free" service and you'll be lucky to get out in less than 21/2 hours for a rotation. Go with someone else ! read more

This is the worst car place ever! I'm warning you! Don't go here. A few months ago, I got all my tires replaced here. They overtorqued my lug nuts on all four wheels. A few months later I need my brakes replaced. So, I tried to take the lug nuts off the tires. It was impossible. Everything I tried to do wasn't working. I tried to use the lugbar and got the help of three other people and nothing worked. So, finally, I decided to call this EXACT store, Mavis Discount Tire, to have them loosen the lug nuts on my car wheels. When we got there, the store manager agreed to take the lug nut off. The lug nuts were so tight, the manager ended up shearing my personal wheel lock key. After that, the manager wanted to charge me $50 to remove each wheel lock on my car. I called Corparate Office, which ponded off to the regional manager. Now, I have to wait on him for 48 hours for a callback. If I coud give this a ZERO stars, I definitely would! Worse store ever! Don't go here. This is the worst car place ever. read more

I called at 1030 am, made an inquiry about tires and was told they had my tires in stock. I asked when to come in and was told they were slow and to come now. I got to the store 45 minutes later (I love 30 min away) at 1115 am. Waited in a line for 20 minutes because only one person was working the counter. I showed the gentleman behind the counter my work order #. He advised it would take, "several hours" to get to my car as they were busy. I told him I called and was told to come because it was quiet. I went to leave and was told it could be ready by 2pm. I needed tires and pretty much caved in and said ok. We discussed the tire price, 139.99 and was advised that there was a 6.99 per tire cost for stems, ok. I left the store and walked to get something to eat. 1/2 hour after I left I was called and told I needed an alignment and 4 not two tires, plus brakes & rotors. News to me as the brakes were done a month ago at an independent mechanic who is a family friend. I went to Mavis for tires not brakes and I do not, or didn't need an alignment at the time. I also could see my car had not moved from where I left it. Hard to tell I need an alignment and brakes without driving or putting my vehicle on a lift to inspect my brakes and rotors. I said thank you but no, please just put tires on, that's it. I figured it wouldn't be much longer as they called me to get more work approved. It was ready at 2pm, barely because they put the tires on the rear not the front as requested. So the job was not done properly. I walk up to pay and he said $361. I handed him my card and had to reach over the counter to get the bill to review. I was handed the credit card slip to sign and I questioned an $18.99 charge per tire and a charge for .42 cents for a Misc item. I was told it was a stocking "fee". I began to explain that the 19.99 fee on the website was reduced 14.00 each and the internet price of 134. Plus the remaining $5 dollars brought the cost to 139.99. I was met with aggression and hostility for questioning a charge. I was told we could have worked "it" out but if I was going to raise my voice we were done. I had not raised my voice yet. I asked to speak to the manager and a gentleman cane out and I explained it again. He said if I wanted my money back I needed to give him my keys so he could take the tires back??!?!? Really. Manager #2 came out and he said it was a stocking fee and he couldn't remove the cost. The bill said balancing charge so I was confused. He said he couldn't do anything and said call corporate. I asked for names so I could advise corporate whom I spoke to. They refused, I got one name off a shirt and he was the worker who said, "If I wasn't working!!". I felt like I was in danger, I was threatened, and alone in the store with an aggressive employee. I left immediately, I left all my personal belongings-backpack, phone, phone charger, laptop and cash in my bag. 15 minutes later I received a call saying my items were left, I said I would come get them. I got back to the store and my items were left in the reception area with no one around. I checked and everything seemed to be there until I got into my vehicle and $140.00 in cash was gone. I called corporate to report the incident and was blown off. Stay far away from these crooks. They robbed me twice! I still don't know what the 38.99 was for? Had an appointment and they told me it would be 2 hours for just an oil change and tire rotation. What's the point of an appointment then?

I went to this place for an oil change and a tire sensor replacement on one tire. I was quoted an hour. At the hour and a half mark I was told the guy at the counter was going to go check on it. After about five minutes waiting at the counter with this guy not returning I sat back down and continue to watch television. He then finally came back and told me that they had just started on it. Being that it was my only day off and that I had a doctors appointment another hour and a half I was steamed but it wasn't a dick about it. I sat back down and waited about another half hour and then asked another dude who looked like a mechanic what the deal was... He told me I think it's done. He went outside to find that they had re-parked my car over by the garage but nobody had done a thing yet. This is at the two hour mark. The guys in charge (and I use that term loosely) said they would get it done now and make sure I'm out of here in a timely fashion. I sat back down and started watching tv again. This time I legit fell asleep in their waiting room. I woke up almost an hour and 15 minutes later and it still wasn't done. By the time it was done I was there for 3.5 hours and I wasn't able to make it to my doctors appointment. This all happened in February of this year. Oh but It gets better, last week I was heading to work (on 78 and noticed that my car was handling weird. I pulled over and noticed that the one tire was so low that I thought it was flat. I had my car towed to my dealer (missing my first work day in the 6 years I've worked for my company) for my dealer to tell me that the Tire pressure sensor wasn't communicating with my system which allowed my tire to go so low that it almost went flat. The dealer also told me that they should have known better than to use this type of sensor. Now I decided to go to speak to the manager of this location and explained the situation to him and he basically spent the entire time trying to explain to me that they were in the right that my car dealer (a family friend who literally repainted my whole car for me for free once) was just trying to mooch money off of me by charging me for a new sensor. He also told me that I should have came to him and he thought that it was the dealer who caused the damage to the sensor which is now in two pieces. I don't really understand why my dealer would have any reason to remove the TPMS sensor other than it being bad and what I would be gain by lying about it. My dealer is a family friend who as a family we have bought 6 cars through them. Never an issue until we take it to a 3rd rate tire shop on 22 and see what the true value is of doing all service through the dealership. Don't sacrifice quality for a cheaper price, don't let these nitwits anywhere near your precious vehicle or you will regret it. read more

I brought my car in for a check engine light on and a engine oil change. I had told the guys I knew I had a cylinder misfiring. When I got my car back, I got told it was coming from a spark plug that they had changed 2 months prior along with the coil packs. They still made me pay for the check and my car was still not functionning properly. I didn't bring it back until the next day, told them about the problem still on and that I had noticed an oil spot underneath my car so asked them to check. They told me it was coming from the screw and that they could change it for free but I had to wait for the piece to come in late same day. I called to check on my car later during the day and got told that the piece didn't come in yet and I had to wait for the next day. Next days comes, I got a call from them to tell me that my battery was malfunctionning. But I had tested it the day before and was working fine (showing good number), so I refused the replacement. First I didn't get a call to know my car was ready and when I got there to pick it up, it wouldn't start. When I checked on the battery, they had replaced it by a dead battery. I have no proof against them other than knowing that when I changed it, the screw holding it was loose and the scratches I had made on my battery clearly didn't look the same they had done to make it look the same... After further digging, the coils they had put on my car were not the right ones, hence why they didn't last. The gaps on the plugs were not right either and all I have in my records for this is "Work under the hood"... My recommendation for you is to stay away from this store. read more

I bought 4 brand new tires as that process went great. They pushed front-end alignment as I declined. Then front brake rotors and pads which were needed and got a great deal all good so far and very friendly service. On the road and immediately got minor steering wheel vibration at 65 MPH---usually indication of wheel alignment and confirmed when I returned to have tires rotated and vibration resolved. Returned again for tire rotation and they re-balanced-- problem fixed. Then they said I needed some of the lug nuts replaced because the caps swelled and 21mm socket no longer would fit. I'm a hardheaded old timer that does most of his car maintenance, including brakes, so when first approached i immediately thought they were scamming me. But it is true as I found out by googling it and the service manager was very gracious and patient as I continued to make a fool of myself until convinced. I have been to the Parsippany, NJ location on Rt. 46 East. I'm not sure if is just me being a woman or if this is their standard practice, but I went for an oil change and tire rotation. However, after leaving there, I realized that they never did the tire rotation because they did the oil change and lowered the car immediately. called and spoke to the Manger. He said he would check the camera. He then admitted that the tire rotation was never done. I then started to question if the oil change was really done. The manager said yes but when I went in for the tire rotation, he did the oil change, which tells me that was never done either. The Manager there said he is only there on certain days so I was careful to make the appointment when he was there for the work, however, once I got there I recognized him and knew he was there the day my car was brought in. He had test driven the car for me because I complained that my brakes were making noise (Factory brakes). If you go there, be sure to watch through the window that the work is actually being done and that you are not paying for nothing. Or you can just go down the street to another location. Wish I can give 0 stars for this business! Came in for an alignment and left very dissatisfied. One of the employees who helped me came out to the car with me and then proceeded to say that I needed this and I needed that. His tone was not appreciated either.When I asked to speak to the manager (this guy was borderline harassing me to get extra service done) he told me that he was the manager. And then when he was inside with the employees, he was practically screaming at them and cursing them out. I can't believe the unprofessionalism of this manager. His name was Travis. After google search for a tire store i came across Mavis Discount Tires (formerly Sear Tires Discount). Convenient locate however poor customer service. Don't know if it was because i was a woman the staff (Christian) was very unfriendly, rude, and dismissive. Overall, experience was very poor. read more

This place sucks....waited over 3 hrs just to be told they did not have the tires in stock....had my vehicle on the lift with the tires off the rims and no apologies from the manager...wanted to sell me some other brand but told them to put my old tires back on read more

Please be aware of the manager named Flavio at the Union, NJ location. In my opinion he is a con man and a liar. Women please be aware because you will be taken advantage of. I had front tires replaced and was told I needed front brakes. I informed Mavis to install the brakes while replacing the tires. Several days after, I was riding and noticed that the tires had been inflated to 45 PSI per tire. This was way over the recommended amount of air. It should have been 33 PSI per tire. I released air from the 2 tires to the correct amount. Also, while driving the front passenger wheel started smelling and smoking. I contacted Mavis and explained what was happening and was told to bring the car right in. After arriving and having the car inspected I was told that a new brake caliper was needed because a brake flush was not done when the brakes were replaced. This was not explained when Mavis stated that brakes were needed. They put this on the paper instead of stating it. By doing so cost me more than $300. This was in addition to the $800.00 spent on brake pads and tires. It took between 4 1/2 - 5 hours to have this work completed. I spoke to Flavio and asked why it took so long to correct the problem, and was told several different reasons all that didn't make sense. When informing Flavio that I was unhappy and was going to call corporate headquarters and complain, he told me that all they would do is call me and then him and they would take his word over mine any way. This, in my opinion is someone being very arrogant and has no place in a managerial position. If at all possible please visit other Mavis tire locations. read more

Went to purchase tires (which was done in time promised) but it all went downhill in true scam fashion as now I needed brakes and power steering fluid. Apparently everyone in the waiting room on that day also needed power steering fluid so I canceled mine. The brakes appeared to be a work in progress at the time. I should have had my car taken off the lift then as hours went by with my car partially taken apart just sitting. Folks need a serious course or two or three on time management and customer service. Real customer service isn't offering me a soda from the vending machine or handing me my keys with a smile cause you're happy the job is finally done when I'd spent my entire day there. The entire day!!! I was livid. Drove off to drive right back in because of noise. The noise became intermittent plus I lost my parking brake. Ended up going to another auto shop and spent more $$ fixing what they jacked up. Never again! Ever. Very disappointed. read more
