So we brought a work truck to this location on August 16, after waiting for two hours, they let my boyfriend know that they did not have a mechanic or somebody able to work on the truck that day after he waited two hours. They told him he could go to there other location where they do have a mechanic the man behind the counter apparently called the other location and they informed him that they had 12 cars on the list for that day already and would be unable to do it. They said they would have somebody in the next day to bring it in he brings it in the next day. Speaks to the manager he informed him They don't have a mechanic there today, but he would do it himself, an hour and a half later he walks back in to see how much longer it's gonna be and they told him that they don't have the proper parts to do the maintenance on the truck due to it being so new 2024 Chevy he said he would grease up All the parts really well and replace one tire and patch the other tire 4 hours total they finally just dropped the truck and are currently trying to get the spare tire back on the undercarriage Will not be back and advise others to steer clear. We both understand that this is a staffing problem and people are just trying to do there job with the means they have but the lack of competency and lack of communication is absolutely appalling. read more

I put 4 new tires on and 1 month later they charged me $30 to fix a flat on the tires I just bought. The girl at the front desk told me there was a nail in the side wall and showed me no nail. After going to Kauffman for over 15 years (and my family even longer), I won't be going back. Things have gone way down hill now that Mavis took over. The place is not clean (roaches in the bathroom), there is no longer complimentary coffee, the grounds are not kept up. But I could get past all of that (and did for years since Mavis took over), if it wasn't for a recent bad experience at the location and the subsequent lack of customer service even at the corporate level. I went to this location to get 2 tires, an oil change, and an alignment. Everything was fine until I went to pay and the service advisor told me my total would be about $100 more than what I was expecting. I questioned it and after giving me an attitude, he said I could look at his computer. I paid my bill and left feeling frustrated. I did not even get a normal receipt with a breakdown of the charges like I normally do. It wasn't until on the way home that I got the emailed receipt showing that my total was $52.02 less than what I paid! What a shock! I have been trying since then (unsuccessfully) to get my refund. I've been told that the "District Manager" would call me back all week and he never has. I have to keep calling them! And no one has even apologized and seems to care, not even corporate. I was even hung up on and lied to by two different people. They are now telling me that I have to come back to the store to get my refund and that the refund amount isn't even the full difference! P.S. since when are oil changes over $100 now? If I would have known that, I would have taken my car to the dealership where it is much cheaper. read more

In July of 2023, we took our F-150 in for squeaky brakes. They conducted a full brake inspection and stated that all 4 rotors needed to be replaced. They replaced all 4 with brand new. Fast forward to August 2024. We took it in to have all 4 tires replaced with new and a brake inspection because the squeaking had returned. They replaced the tires and conducted a wheel alignment, even though we didn't ask for this. (They said they would conduct an alignment check, not actually conduct an alignment). After this brake inspection, they said both front rotors required replacement. . . . From July 2023 to August 2024, we put just over 5k miles on the vehicle, as we don't drive it far or much. We have great driving habits such that we don't ride our brakes or cause premature wear on them. We didn't have any mishaps or accidents during this time. I am not sure why rotors that were new at the time they were installed, were provided by them (not us), only a year old, and only had ~ 5,500 miles on them had to be replaced so soon, even in the midst of our good driving and braking habits. I was not too upset they conducted an alignment without our consent, as I like to get alignments with tire changes anyway, but it's the principle of the matter. We took the vehicle to Christian Brothers down the street. They said the rotors were fine. They said squeaky brakes is not always a result of worn rotors. I am not so sure we'll be visiting this place again. Also, I told them I am a military veteran, for which they provide discounts. I have had problems with the Discount Tire store down 41 in Acworth for years and my wife brought one of our cars here and we cannot wait to have all our cars tires moved to this and away from the pains at Discount Tire. Stopped by here on July 12th 2023 to have the brakes done on my 2007 Chevy Silverado. After the work was completed, I picked the truck up to travel my 3 miles home. On my way home I heard a "clunk" sound. The next morning I limped the truck to a shop closer to my house. The other shop advised that the tech that did the brakes did not tighten the lugs on the rear wheels on my Silverado causing damage to one of the wheels. Shop 2 was not comfortable with re-installing the damaged wheel so they ordered a new one. I contacted this Mavis store and they told me to bring pictures and the receipt from the other shop. The Mavis employee took my statement, pictures and receipt and wrote up an incident report and told me it would be 3-4 weeks but that I would receive a check in the mail. On august 22, 2023, I returned to the store and met with the manager, who had no clue of the incident. He gave me the email of his boss. I emailed "the boss" a couple of times and sent him all the same pictures and invoices, he told me that he "sent everything to Mavis and he would email me when he found out when they cut the check". Today is September 12, 2023 and I have heard nothing. I have sent several emails with no response. I am very unhappy and very frustrated with how this has been handled. read more

The employee didn't seem to know his inventory. He sold me tires that weren't suitable for the type of driving I do. I took my car back to have the proper tires installed after speaking to the manager and setting up a time. My car sat there for 3 days due to their incompetence and lack of communication. They kept giving me the run around, telling me they didn't know why my car was there. They had to order the tires which I I understand due to supply issues but they lied about it. I went in to get new rear tires mounted because I had a flat on the passenger side. They had a guy with 4 teeth do the job and he bent one of my wheels on the box machine. Then put it on the other side and tried to claim it was previous damage. The manager will not give me any kind of refund or accept liability and take care of the repairs because I didn't notice until a week later when I finally got on a highway and drove fast enough. My entire car shakes at 65-85mph. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE. They overcharged for the tires and tried to solicit more work after being told several times that I'm just here for tires and I can do all other work myself. Scam artists- Took my car in for a tire rotation since I purchased a set of four tires from this location. As I was waiting one of the service agents had a report from the technician that my front brakes were into the rotors. Funny...you would expect to at least hear some noise if this was the case. Went to the car dealership the following week for routine service and asked them to check the front brakes. The brakes were fine (5mm remaining). First thing on the morning of 7/22/2020, I placed order an order with Mavis. An appointment was made to drop off the vehicle at 11:00AM with the tire installation and alignment to be completed on the July 22, 2020. When we arrived at the store, the person behind the counter told us that this order was for the 23rd, and he would not have the tires until then. I was extremely clear that the install had to be done on the 22nd when I scheduled it. I then left the store and contacted the Mavis call center. I was told that the order clearly stated the install was to be performed on the 22nd; and the agent was not sure why we were told the 23rd at the store. After a while on hold, I was told that the store manager had not ordered the tires because there was a 'rush fee' involved. The agent told me she would contact the store and have the manager waive the fee because "clearly this is our fault". (frankly she should have the power to do this without contacting the store) She verified my contact number and promised to call me back and get the tires installed today. That was before 12:00. Currently it is after 5:00 and I have not received any communication from Mavis. Clearly this is a sales tactic. Get the customer to commit...most of them will come back the next day. i'm very disappointed with the service i received, i have spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix my car, i received a new battery and alternator, and my car still isn't running, i was informed it was a wiring issue which as of now is not the case, i was also referred to other shops that apparently do wiring and none of the suggestions i was giving would even do it, while the staff was friendly and trying to be accommodating, i found myself still going out of my way to get it fixed, if i knew it was going to be this much of a hassle i would have never went in the first place, they also told me that with the new battery i would be fine, but i ended up getting stuck on the road at 1am in the morning unable to even move my car, had to call a tow truck and everything just go have it towed to the shop for an alternator that didn't even solve the problem, i won't be returning because now i wasted my money on stuff i probably should have bought from someone who specifically works on european cars read more

We frequently used them when it was Kauffman Tire, having bought at least 3 sets of tires there over the past 10 years. We have a 2 year old car we bought across the street at the Chevy dealer, and it needed an oil change, so we made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. We did not specify using synthetic oil (because it is a 2 year old car and does not need it) nor were we asked at any time. Yet this is what they did. The cost was over $50 for what the dealer would charge me $30 at most. In addition, when I got home I realized the tires were not rotated. I know this because I know where the tires were, and one of the tires has sidewall damage, which I knew I would be asked about. I know we were not charged for this, but neither was it done. So I am sad to see that Kaufmann tire is gone, because they gave us such good service for so many years. read more

Aweful place. I have never had a problem with the tires, wheels or axles on my vehicle until we took it here for new tires. The tires would not stay balanced, we kept taking it back. Finally went to another Kauffman location and was told the axles needed $900 worth of work. Went ahead and had them do it because my vehicle wasn't even drivable at this point. Was fine for a little while, then I made the mistake of taking a flat tire in to have them repair it since it's under warranty. Very soon after its making a horrible noise. Took it back and was told the vehicle needed another $400 worth of repairs. Picked it up and took it to our mechanic instead who confirmed they had caused much of the problems by over tightening bolts. I emailed customer service, no response. I just had an absolutely horrible experience at the Acworth Kauffman tire location today. Before I had even driven 10 miles, the wheel weights were flying off of my trucks wheels making horrible slamming popping noises in my fender well and causing significant vibration. My wheels were in pristine condition when I arrived there. The same wheels were severely damaged while my new tires were being installed. My wheels have never been damaged at any place I've ever had my tires/wheels rotated, and I have never been told elsewhere that the wheel weights should be on the outside of the rim, and that the wheel cannot be balanced properly without them there. My goodness, it came from the factory with the stick on inside style weights and every time my tires have been rotated and balanced the stick on inside the rim style weights were used and i never had balance issues. There seems to be an awful lot of inexperience here. I would stay far, far away from Kauffman tire. I called to complain and they told me to bring it back in and they would make it right, I am going to see what they're willing to do when i take it back in, but honestly, I am very hesitant to even have them work on my vehicle again. Wheel weights flying off of wheels is not a common occurrence and is a major safety issue if it were to fly off and hit somebody's windshield. This was clearly an error in installation. **update** The corporate office did contact me and confirmed it was an error in installation both with the wheel weights and operator error on the balancing machine which is what damaged my wheels. Corporate took full responsibility for the stores error and repaired and resurfaced my wheels, i even asked that another location perform the work because i didn't want the Acworth store touching my truck anymore. Corporate obliged and the Woodstock store on 92 took great care of me. I was given a rental car and the wheels were sent out for repair, they came back in about 30 hours looking better than new, and were mounted, balanced and installed perfectly without damage and with the correct style of wheel weights. I am glad corporate stepped up and took care of me. Although it doesn't help my opinion of this Acworth store whatsoever, it gives me a great impression of the company as a whole to step up and admit fault and do the right thing to fix it. and most of all I now know that there are good locations such as Woodstock who seem to actually care about customers and their vehicles. The Acworth store also said they were refunding me $15 for tire disposal since i took all 4 of my old tires with me since they still had tread, said credit would show up in 2-3 days, but they did not refund it after 5 days so far. Do not trust this store with your car or money, EVER! read more

I was at the car wash a couple buildings down and locked all my stuff including my phone in my car. So I walked to pep boys asking for something to help me and they were so rude, I went to kauffman and they were so eager to help. They jumped right to it without a second thought and didn't even want to charge me. One of their employees happened to have the kit to open the car so it a not something they even do as a service and the fact they were willing to drop everything to help me was amazing. read more

This place has awful customer service. My husband took his work truck in for new tires and an alignment. One of the tires was leaking from the start and by the next morning was completely flat. He brought it in and was told it would be about 20 minutes. Then 20 minutes later they came out and said that his alignment wasn't done properly. It took them an hour and half to "fix" it. As he drove off, it was very clear that the alignment was worse than ever. He called them right away and they told him they were very busy and it would take 3-4 hours to fix the problem THAT THEY CREATED! They told him the other option was to come in the next morning. They only gave him two options for time and neither were convenient. He missed an entire day of work because of their incompetence. read more

They ordered 4 tires for me and i went to drop car off when they were in. Asked to look at tires before I left and I myself discovered they were used! Ever so slightly used but it was obvious. The service guy played dumb. I then played dumb for even considering to do business with them but I was about to go on a trip and couldn't wait. The next day a set of NEW and unused tires came in, took car in and had them installed. Picked up vehicle and TPMS indicator light was on. Service guy said vehicle needed to be driven a few miles and the sensors would reset. Having lots of auto knowledge I knew this to be very possibly true. But it wasn't. Long story short...they either broke two of the four sensors upon installing tires, or more likely, they purposely broke them so I'd have to pay them $140 EACH to replace them. I dealt with three different employees about this matter and they were all liars. Trust me. This is everyday business for them and I'm one of MANY that this has happened to. And it's HIGHLY ILLEGAL to sell used tires unless you have certain credentials and permits. MAVIS does not even offer selling used tires....but they do. read more
