Expensive and very poor workmanship. They hire a lot of inexperienced helpers, then have them work on your car. They're bad about leaving parts off your car, and they won't typically stand behind their warranty. For small issues, you'll probably OK, but for real problems, go somewhere else. read more

I took my 1999 GMC Yukon to Auto Experts of Acworth in May to have both the engine and transmission replaced, based on what seemed like good past reviews. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst experiences I've had with any repair shop. When I went to pick up my vehicle and test drive it, things went wrong almost immediately. While on the highway, the truck locked up and dropped into first gear without warning. Upon inspection, I discovered that several wires and cords had been left unharnessed, and they had wrapped around the driveshaft, causing serious damage. Auto Experts replaced the transmission once -- then a second time -- but the truck still wasn't shifting properly. I eventually had to take it to AAMCO, who ended up fixing all of the issues that Auto Experts supposedly "repaired." Ever since those original mistakes, I've had to deal with a series of other mechanical problems, including issues with the transfer case, fuel pump, and electrical system -- all of which I believe were caused by their poor workmanship. Over several months, I was repeatedly charged for tows, additional parts, and labor, with little to no clear explanation. In total, I spent over $15,000, and my vehicle was never right. The front desk staff offered no real assistance and seemed unable to provide any information without Hector's approval. Communication was frustrating, and accountability was completely lacking. At this point, I feel that Auto Experts of Acworth took advantage of me and my trust. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into a financial and mechanical nightmare. After later checking the BBB, I found that they already have multiple negative reviews, which I wish I had seen before going there. Bottom line: If you're looking for an honest and reliable mechanic, do not trust Auto Experts of Acworth or Hector. Save yourself the stress, money, and time -- look elsewhere. Beware. read more

Years ago as I was preparing to leave the small town in upstate New York I had lived in for the prior 10 years, the only time I cried was when I had to say by to Tony. You see, Tony was my mechanic and when it came to integrity, Tony was a shining example of how honesty in business could bring great success to an owner. Through word of mouth Tony had all the business he needed and he was successful. It's been a long time since I've seen Tony - I didn't think guys like him existed anymore but I now realize that if I ever have to leave Acworth, Im sure I'll shed a tear or two saying goodby to the guys in this shop. First time I went on the reccomendation of a friend I had my Subaru towed in for a second opinion that saved me a thousand bucks - Thats right: $1000 Two previous shops telling me they had to pull the head to replace the timing belt. This repair service is a total rip off joint. $550 for a timing belt repair? I paid like a fool. They bought a coil pack for my engine before even checking the size and it was wrong. So I got charged. $4000 for a new motor and installation? They must be doing business with 10 year olds. Just sad. BUYER BEWARE!!! They don't stand behind the owners own work. I had oil change by the owner, he checked air filter and didn't get it set correct and caused $400 repair! I talked to owners and they seemed like they want to help but they never called back. I'm out $400 Don't trust them to even change your oil. After they wanted to discuss settling they only offer 1/3 of what I had to pay and only in store credit. Bobbie, One of the owners is MIA for 2 weeks according to his partner!!! read more

I can't say enough to compliment the kind mechanics at Auto Experts Repair and Service. I have been helping my ESL student shop for a used car. She is a woman from Ethiopia who has been working two jobs to afford the life-changing experience of buying her first car. I called to find out how much it would cost to have a mechanic look over a used car and get an opinion on whether it was worthy of purchase. I was told that as long as they had the time and a lift available, they would help her for free! When we arrived, Bobby gave us a thorough evaluation of the car's condition, noting a few problems. He was patient and took time to answer all of our questions. If that weren't kind enough, he said he would be happy to look over a second vehicle if she decided not to buy this one. He said he would much rather help us a second time than have her spend money on a car riddled with problems. We will certainly be back when it comes time to be a paying customer. I would recommend this shop to anyone, especially other women looking for a mechanic they can trust to be honest. read more

Auto Experts are the biggest cheaters out there, took my car in for an oil change and it was a downhill spiral from there. First an oil change on my 2004 VW Beetle, they charged me $63 for an oil change, after that experience I went back to them with a spark plug problem, the owner (Hector) ensured me that it wasn't a big fix and charged me $350 to replace them...all of this only to find out 10 days later by another mechanic that the oil was NOT changed and that they had broken the dip stick, which caused my cars engine to lock up and a sensor to be thrown off by all the oil that came out of the broken dip stick. Needless to say, Auto Experts will never touch my car again! Do NOT take your car to this establishment. read more

These guys are the best! Let me tell you....I'm local and was getting on the road to travel and had an issue with my boat trailer I was towing. Called for help and they directed me in. This was my first visit to this business. And even though they had other cars in front of me they stopped to assist me and get me back on the road. Took my daughters car in because it wouldn't start, they quoted over $800 to work on the electrical system. She picked up the car and it was running rough. She went to start it the next day and it was dead. They towed it to the shop, said it was fixed, she went to get it. Next day, same thing. Turned out it needed a battery, which they charged us for so now the bill is over $1000 and the car still doesn't run right. We feel very ripped off and will never return or recommend them. read more

I have always been hesitant to trust a mechanic and or Repair Shop. I have a European car and that almost always spells $$$. I took my car to a local tire shop that will remain nameless and was floored when they told me I needed hundreds of $ in repairs...all this while getting an oil change. A friend of mine has had Hector work on his cars before after the same tire shop said he needed hundreds of dollars in repairs. He recommended Hector and Bobby highly (and he is one tough person to please). Hector serviced the car great and there were NO SURPRISES. I also got 2 new tires for less than the tire store. Car runs great and I will be taking my other car there. Great service, great price, and they take the time to tell you what is going on. read more

I was referred to Auto experts, from a friend and I'm so glad I was. Being a woman I'm always hesitant about going to auto repairs shops and I've had some bad experiences with a few that I feel lived up to the stereotype of how women are sometimes taken advantage of. This was not the case with Auto Experts. They were very professional and from watching their interaction with other customers, they genuinely care about the customer and do quality work. I had to take my daughters car in because her ac was blowing hot air. I was told it could be a number of things from many people, but I took it there and Bobby assured me he would figure out exactly what the problem was and would contact me once it was figured out. It turned out to be a number of issues however, nothing major like other places told me it was. I appreciate the honesty and the quality of the work done. My daughter's AC is blowing out cold air again, just in time for the heat wave we've been having. I highly recommend Auto Experts for your repair needs if you're looking for quality work and an honest establishment. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!....Brought my '77 corvette to these folks back in May. AC was not blowing cold air and had a oil leak. Picked the car up a few days later. Paid then $1,250 for new compressor and to fix oil leak. When I went out to my car the antenna was hanging by a wire. Nobody told me this had happened. Surprise!! When I drove the car home the a/c was still not blowing and the next morning there was oil on my garage floor. Brought it back a second time so they could fix what they didn't the first time. Picked the car up a few days later went to drive it and when I pulled out of the garage there was oil on the garage floor. Turned the a/c on and all the Freon blew out. Brought it back a third time. When I went to pick it up my rear view mirror was in my passenger seat. Just like the antenna, nobody said a word about it. Surprise!! Turned the a/c on during the drive home and still not blowing cool air and this morning I STILL have an oil leak. These guys are a joke. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM! Now, I am right back where I started, less $1,250 dollars and a lot of frustration and time. Wish we could give negative stars on the review. Giving them 1 star is waaayyy more than they deserve. read more
