Sunday morning flat tire... exactly what you don't want on a road trip. After being turned away elsewhere, we called this Mavis location and were told to come on in. The team had us back on the road quickly after patching the tire, and Ty was especially friendly and helpful. From what I overheard, he clearly knows his stuff and takes great care of his customers. OK, maybe it's the economy, maybe it's Texas, maybe it's just Amarillo, one of the friendliest cities I've visited but when I went to have it slow tire leak fixed, upon my return, I was told there wa be s no charge for the fix......What? BUT it not very professional to talk shit on another company such as Discount Tire when they don't have all the information. Discount Tire has FREE tire rotation, flats and air checks even if you didn't buy tires from them, no strings attached. Before trashing a company,have all the information first. read more

I came in for a oil change. I started off by calling several businesses this morning to find the best price. I was told over the phone I could get Penzoil synthetic, tire rotations do fluids topped off for $70. When I arrived at the store a gentleman was standing at the front desk (I later found out was the manager) Instead of helping me he called Brayden to help me. Brayden to talk to me. Brayden was extremely polite and did everything in his power to help. He told me they only had valvoline oil but could order penzoil for another $5. I went out to my car for a moment and returned in about 3 minutes and agreed to the counter offer even though it was not the original quote. Brayden told me that he was instructed he could only offer the valvoline oil. I assume this came from Jody the manager who was standing there. I asked for the corporate phone phone number. After spending approximately a hour on the phone and speaking to four different representatives I was able to get the company to honor their offer. The manager Jody has yet to speak to me and offer any kind of apology. Brayden was a pleasure to work with but the manager needs training on how to work with customers. read more

Good experience- we did a last minute walk-in appointment on a Sunday after we had a tire go flat. Terry and Tyler got us in and out quickly. We got a tire inspected and patched, and also got a tire rotation and oil change. Very fair price. I think they appreciated the Sunday business. They were helpful and kind. read more

I didn't get any work done here so I can't speak to that but I did get a quote over the phone for a Four Wheel Computerized Alignment. When I went into the shop they wanted $30 more and mysteriously they couldn't find my quote that I was told would be under my name in the computer. If they won't even honor their basic quotes it makes me wonder what quality of work they do. I have a friend who also had a bad experience with them just the day before I found out. Wow. What a terrible business. As I enter the buisness I enter with high expectations. From the street I can see a clean organized shop with plenty of people who appear to be working. As I enter the front doors the building is also a seemingly higher end shop, the lobby is clean, appealing displays, tv and comfortable lounging chairs for entertaning waiting customers. I approach the service desk where there are a plethera of people behind the counter, I would estimate 6 or more represenatives wearing Tire Engineers shirts and No other cuatomers in line, no reps on the phone just service writers at the counter mumbling amongst them selfs. This is where the companies true colors begin to shine! I patiently wait 3-5 minutes befpre any one even acknowledges my presence and ask what they can help with. I state I need a tire for my trailer and give them the size and bring them the wheel with the shreaded tire. An associate writes up a bill of service and says my tire will be done shortly. I then have to ask what the price will be and is hesitant to quote a price. He studders around a second and comes back with $91 while not the lowest advertised price around as they claim I am in a hurry and agree to the price and give the go ahead to mount the new tire. 30 minutes go buy and no one has even come to ask about my wheel, its still sitting here with me, untouched. Another 15 minutes or so my wheel is retrieved by a technician to be serviced. Wahoo! I'm almost ready to get back on the road. I view thru the glass windows the technician do a great job changing the tire, but boy I think paint can dry faster than he mounted my tire. Alright 55 minutes from me getting here and hes done! Sweet I can pay and get on my way! NOT!! I wait another 15 minutes in a shop full of service writers and technicians and no one wants to take my money, I'm standing here with cold hard federal reserve notes aka CASH! To pay these guys and no one can even ask if they can help me or if i need something. Im standimg there like an idiot waving my money around. I end up leaving my $100 cash on the counter and walking out of this fantastic establishment. These mother Tucker's have now wasted the only commodities on this planet more valuble than life its self and that is my time. Take my money, screw me over, break my wheel, I do not care but they wasted the one thing I can never take back and that can not refund and that is my time! I assure you that me, my family, friends or aquantience will never step foot in an establishment or sister establishment of tire engineers. Dont give these crooks the pleasure of stealing your money so they can waste Your time. By the way the Regional manager was on site and at the service desk for this whole evolution and yet I still recieved sub par customer service! read more

Lets start from the Beginning. I walk into this fancy respectable looking tire shop with a shredded trailer tire. There must have been 7 tire engi eer employees behind the counter and i have to work to get their attention. So finally a guy acknolages im there and asks how he can help tell him I need a 255/75r15 trailer tire he proceeds to write up a service paperwork. Fine and dandy... 45 minutes later a he hniciam come to retrieve my tire and casually makes his way to the shop to change my tire. While the technician seemed to do a good job he was in no way shape or form concerned about completing his job in a timley manner. Finally after an hour this tire is changed! Wahoo!! So who do i pay? Apparently they do t want my money I stand around with cash in my hands to pay the guys and no one wants to seem to take my money. I promptly leave my $100 on the table and walk out not in a great mood. Nevermind that I left a 9 dollar tip because I couldnt wait any longer for change. After continuing on the road I call tire engineer to speak with a manager. The regional manager gives me a very unsympathetic apology and hangs up on me. Let's be honest in not exactly complementing him on his buisness at this point but seriously over an hour to put a new tire on a wheel that isnt even mointed on a car? Save your self the head ach go to a real shop and not these guys! read more
