Everything was fine until I left and realized the undercarriage cover on my car was hanging and scrapping the road. One of the bolts/screws that holds it up was missing. It also had been bent back so they did not have to take the entire piece off to do the inspection. Also, I had a nail in one of my tires that had been there awhile but was not leaking, so I had not replaced the tire. They let me know about it, but the very next morning my TPMS light came on and my tire was going flat. I took the tire off, just to find out they had visibly messed with the nail and caused it to start leaking. All of this happened during an inspection, oil change, and already having to buy a tire due to a screw being in it and that one was leaking. I had been there a few times before since pricing isn't terrible and had no problems, but will not be back after this. read more

I booked my appointment online, I ordered their second less expensive tires (Ironman iMove Gen 3) online price was $67 ea. for my 15 Civic. Labor cost showed $52, mount and balance 4 tires was $80. So total online price showed $400. After work was completed and went to pay for my car the bill came out to $490. They charged me $80 per tire instead of the online price of $67, there was also a $14 disposal fee, and without asking or me authorizing it they replaced 4 tire pressure monitor sensors which was another $30, (my tpm light is still on). So if you book an appointment online make sure you confirm the price of the tires. Other than that the tires so far are very quiet and smooth. Hopefully they last a couple of years. read more

I went to the store in Clemmons NC last summer with an appointment for wheel alignment and ended up waiting 3 hours in an un-air-conditioned lobby. Decided to try them again in October to buy tires and get an all-wheel alignment. I left it there the day before and on Thursday they were open 2.5 hours later than any other day. They ended up giving my car back on Friday but not until I got hung up on by Erica when I called to ask about it. I guess she didn't like my tone because I didn't use fowl language. The manager determined that Erica didn't intend to hang up on me but discounted my bill. The alignment was free but I had to call out of work for a half day. They had all day Thursday from 8:00 AM until 8:30 PM to call me if they weren't able to finish, but I never got the call. NEVER GO THERE! read more

TERRIBLE. Store @ 2651 Lewisville Clemmons gave me misinformation to sell me tires. I had a flat, they said it could be repaired but they told me I needed 2 new tires because my shocks were gouging my tires (according to my mechanic later, that was not true). Also sold me a $100 alignment and then did not give me the paperwork to show what was out of alignment. When I called today the service person was rude and unhelpful. It was 2 weeks ago and she said they ship the paperwork off when they send the tires out? Could not tell me where or how. Definitely DO NOT recommend the Clemmons location. Today, my complaint with Mavis Tires & Brakes in Clemmons doesn't have any reflection on the store manager. The store manager professionalism is what brought me to Mavis after he helped my brother with his tires. I felt like I found a new shop. My car was squealing, and I didn't think twice about going to Mavis. So, I made an appointment with the store manager for July 5 at 8am. I was there early along with a few other customers. The store opens at 8am however, we all waited until 8:25am for the doors to open. No big deal. Quick service, I was told my driver side front rotor and brake pad need replacing. It would be an hour, so I was very happy with customer service so far. I waited about 30-45 minutes, then I was told they had bad news. They don't have the "T" tool used to remove my rotor. I asked if they could order or borrow one. The service clerk explained the "T" tool wasn't available and the technicians broke several of those "T" tools. She had to order more for their inventory. And it would be difficult to order any at this time. The technician put everything back together and I was on my way. However, they failed to notify me that the technician broke and damaged one of lug nut off the bolt. I called back to inform them about the broken front driver side tire bolt. The service clerk stated the technician denies broking my bolt. Now my car is at Honda being repaired, with an additional cost to fix the damage caused by Mavis in Clemmons. The cost is between $190-350 for replacement. Now, I have to wait two weeks to discuss this issue with the store manager. Because the wonderful manager is out of town and there is a skeleton crew working at the shop. Disappointed and not sure if this matter will be resolved. :( read more

Mavis has been taking care of ME and my car! I'm newly divorced & on my own and the people here are honest, they care about you, and your safety. This last time I needed brakes, and an oil and air filter changes. I only had money for the brakes. They did the oil change and air filters as well at no cost because they knew I was struggling very bad financially. They told me they understood what it is to struggle and that they just wanted me to be safe on the road! Not being from the area has not helped. I wouldn't recommend ever using the National Tire & Battery (NTB) at 2651 Lewisville Clemmons Rd. This all started when I requested the front calipers be replaced on my 2013 Chevy Avalanche. Instead of replacing the front brakes, like I requested. They replaced the back brakes only. After a conversation with the manager, he informed me that they would take care of the issue and I wouldn't have to pay for their mistake. After using this company several times before, I had confidence in their work and trusted them to do the job. After several months had passed my wife and I decided to take a ride to Greensboro for the day. Once there I started to hear noises coming from the front right wheel. We parked the vehicle and went inside of the new Top Golf to visit. When we started to leave and I tried to back the vehicle out of the parking spot. The right front brake made a loud noise and I could barely reverse the vehicle. I was able to get the vehicle to the NTB in Greensboro to get checked. The technician (Tom) called me back to see what he found. The brake caliper was missing the top bolt and the bottom bolt was loose. He told me that the bottom bolt was about to come off and we would of lost the tire. Needless to say if we lost the tire at the speeds were driving, it wouldn't end well for us. I don't believe that any of the work being done there is getting a true quality check before release back to the customer. Beware!!! read more

Well let me start off by saying I am a single mother that works hard everyday to take care of her family and herself. A long time ago I learned to work on cars. I do my own work to my car unless it's a big job or I don't have the tools. My car was leaking oil and smoking and the engine light was on! I took my car to Mavis Tires thinking I could trust them! I also was looking for a shop to go to when I could not work on my car. They guy told me a few things that was wrong with my they only said the battery, sparkplugs, catalytic coverter, and that I needed to drain the power steering because I had metal in it! He said it would be 900, but the bill turn out to be over a 1,000. On the bill they charged me for the following things! 1. Camshaft position sensor $109.40 2. Camshaft position Sensor mvcg valve cover gaskets $115.91 3. Power steering $79.99 4. PCV hose $11.98 5. Misc shop supplie $25.00 6. Valve cover gasket set $73.53 7. R&R valvecover gasket $65.40 8. Come to find out they take a payment out every friday! I got my car back and a few days later it over heating and still smoking,, so I took it back to the shop when I got off work that day. The day before Easter! They were busy so I told them I was going to the house to call me when they where done. 5 or 6 I still have not heard nothing from them so I called up there. I ask about my car and they said they still have not looked at it yet and I said well yall are closing at 6 right, He said no we are staying till all over the cars are taken care of. 7 oclock rolls around and I tried to call them no answer 8 oclock still no answer. So I get someone to ride up there and the shop was closed! They did not call me or nothing and remind you it was the day before Easter so they was closed till that Monday! So there fore they kept my car without my permission and did not call me period. I had to work the next day and did not have a ride to work. I should of made a police report to where they kept my car without my permission that night! I had to go two day without my car and without knowing what was going on! That Monday I had to call out of work again so I could be there when they opened to find out what the hell was going on! When I walked in the guys could not even look me straight in the eyes! I ask them what the problem was and why they kept my car without calling me. "The guy says, we tried to call you, I ask what number he had on file and he started reading off my number and when he got to the last number he almost said four but switch it to 5 in the middle of 4. I knew he just lied striaght to my face because they had my number on file and they called me the first time to pick it up on that number just fine. He tho I should of let them have it then i still gave them another chance to see why it was over heating. I went to pick my car up that Monday afternoon cause they said they still can't find the reason it was over heating and they did not see it smoking, when it's been smoking this whole time. When I went to pick my car up it was sitting outside the shop. I picked my keys up and got into my car. Note I only live a few mins away from the shop. I came home and seen the car smoking and I'm like what the hell If it will start smoking in less then ten mins then why could they not see it smoking? So I get out the car open my hood and clearly it was smoking. I seen the fuss box lid is off, a cord was unpluged from my engine and the cap to my over fill was laying on my engine. You figure after all they have done to me you would think they would put the car back together right! For my saftey as well! I contacted flex shoppers and told them what was going on! These people are just as bad as Mavis Tires! Mavis tire told flex shoppers that they have paid me back! In June I price shopped for truck tires and decided to give Mavis Tire in Clemmons a try based on the competitive price and they are in my home town. Today I went to schedule an appointment for my first rotation and was told that rotation is free however balancing is $39.99. At the time of purchase I specifically asked if lifetime "balance & rotation" was included, and was told "Yes". I'm happy with the tires and I was happy with the install, however it's so disappointing to be lied to. I asked the question very specifically because I had quotes from two other locations that included both services. If balancing is needed I will end up paying another company to do it. The guy walked to the car with me to get the size of the tire he wrote it down and said you can go ahead and bring it in and walked off. I should have left then. I rolled the tire in and he was already on the computer looking up tires. I picked one out and asked how long it would take he said probably 2-3 hours. Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance, with Mavis Tire in Clemmons, NC, for specific Goodyear tires (assurance fuel max); called three days in advance to confirm the needed tires were in stock. At checkout, 1.5 hours later, noticed the tires installed were an inferior model. When I asked the company representative about the incorrect tire installation, he proceeded to check with the manager and returned with "the requested tires were out of stock". When asked why I wasn't informed prior to installation, there was not coherent response. Additionally, at checkout, I was informed that the battery needed to be replaced? (new battery installed in 2020), the rear shocks were in need of replacement, and the brake fluid should be purged, on this 2017 Honda HR-V with 53000 miles. Follow up service conducted by a trusted mechanic, indicated that these aforementioned items were NOT in need of replacement. Beware of this service provider, on the surface they seem price competitive however once they have you lured in, there is a price increase and service decrease. read more

When Mavis Tire bought Myers Tire everything changed. And not for the better. I think I will be taking my tire and auto service business elsewhere. We certainly have plenty of competing businesses in Clemmons. When I came into Mavis last week, no one was at the customer service deck. The customer service guy was having a casual conversation with the service writer guy in the repair area. He turned and looked at me, but made no acknowledgment of my presence. He continued chatting with the service writer. After about 10 minutes of standing there, I turned to leave. Finally he walked into the waiting area and spoke to me. I told him I wanted to make an appointment to have my oil changed and tires rotated. He gave me an 11:00 appointment for later in the week. I arrived on time for my appointment, and he checked me in and invited me to have a seat in the waiting area. Thirty minutes later, my car was still sitting in the parking lot. I told him I was leaving because my appointment time was not being honored. He suggested that if I didn't want to wait, I should come back on Sunday morning at 9:00 and they would probably be able to change my oil without a long wait. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when it took 6 hours to get a set of tires - they had someone not show up in the shop - but that's not my problem. Went back for a brake problem - they upsold some brake work when I was there. ABS Tone Ring was issue. They claimed needed entire half axle and charged $110 more for parts and labor than quoted at a garage down the street. When I went back to pick up the car - their computers and phones were down. I had to wait 20 minutes for them to figure out a way to check me out. Avoid them. read more

This review addresses 2 separate times in one week that I brought my car to this Mavis location to have work done to it. Firstly, I brought my subaru outback here on 3/29 for a brake and rotor change. After the repair was complete, I drove out of the parking lot and immediately noticed a horrible scraping noise and then a big clank, like something metal just broke. So I turn around and go back to the shop (no easy feat by the way as their shop is located on one of those streets that have a long division so you have to drive 1/4 mile and pull 2 u-turns to get back to the shop) and they tell me that the dust cover was bent causing the scraping noise, and the sound of metal breaking that I heard was a ball joint snapping. Not to cast blame for the ball joint, but I suspect when they were taking my old rotors off they used a hammer or something to help loosen some of the rusty bolts and inadvertently compromised the ball joint (Although it was rusty, that ball joint never gave me any problems, ever, and suddenly it breaks right after getting the car back from these guys, so draw your own conclusions on that one) I had to wait another 20minutes while they corrected the issue (zip tie on the ball joint and reset the dust cover) and while they were fixing it, the service manager, Johnnie (Who seems to be a reasonable and honest guy), showed me that my control arms were rusty and recommended I fix them. He offered to fix the ball joints for free if I gave them my business to replace the control arms, which I agreed too. When I dropped it back off on 4/1, They started working on it immediately and I was initially very impressed at the prompt service. However, when I came back later to pick up the car and pay the bill, they had a hard time finding my keys, which turned up under a bunch of loose paper scattered on the counter in the lobby, not secured in any way or at very least out of reach from anyone to simply take them, If they were so inclined. That wasn't the biggest deal however and up to this point I was still planning on leaving a good review. However, AGAIN, as I was turning out of the parking lot, It was making a terrible scraping noise so I brought it back. I ONCE AGAIN had to wait another 15minutes while they fixed the heat shield that they bent when reinstalling the wheel (I was told by some of their mechanics) after the control arm replacement (Mind you, this was all AFTER I paid my invoice) and then they gave the car back to me for a 2nd time that day. This time, I decided to double check their work and drove a couple circles in their parking lot, and I was glad I did because AGAIN the scraping sound was there whenever I turned the steering wheel. This cycle of receiving the keys and giving the keys back to them went on for the next few hours. Long story short, it took them 4 tries and 3and 1/2 hours AFTER I had paid my bill to identify the problem and finally fix it. Even though the staff here was very polite and understanding, I will not be taking my car back because I believe that they do not double check their work (at least this time) before taking your money, and you may be stuck there for ~3 hours longer than you expected to be. I am not a critical guy looking for problems, and in fact, this is 1st business review I've ever written , but car safety is a serious thing for me and I don't feel I can trust them to pay enough attention to detail for me to have them do any more work on my vehicle moving forward. read more

I miss Myers so much ! They were trustworthy peoples with great knowledge at fair price. I needed a st of snow tire so i went there thinking they would follow the tradition. They had to order them (which i understand) and told me that they would be in in 24 to 48 hours so 2 days later i was there. I was told that they did not received the tires because of bad weather but they will be there in two days. Two days later I'm in and guess what ? Still no tires for me so they suggest another model that they could have the same day and that are even better and they will give me the same price. I said "yes, why not ?!" So the day after I'm there having my tires being installed. It took 3 hours to install the tires on the rim, balance the wheel and perform and alignment. Finally, i was done...at least i thought i was... I saw that my steering was not centered when driving straight and that there was a vibration above 65-70mph. I went back for a fourth time. They did a balance again as well as the alignment. Now, the steering is OK but i still feel some vibration on the highway but I'm done with them. I have other options in my neighborhood. read more

I have been using this company with all four of my vehicles since they change from Myers Tire to Mavis, thinking the service and accountability wound not change. Due to my surprise it has somewhat, recently I went to them for a set of tires for my teenage daughters car ( Goodyear Eagles ). Normally I check the tires before they are installed to make sure they are not old, was rushing that day so didn't get around to checking them at the service center, checked them the next day which was a Sunday. To my surprise the installed tire were right at being almost 2yrs old. Just because tires are new does not mean they are not old sitting in a warehouse. Surveys have said that tires over 15 months old should not be sold due to them starting to break down and rotting, so on that Monday I went back to Mavis with this issue and ask for replacements with earlier dates, remember they were put on the previous Saturday. The manager told me that they could not replace them but if I had any issues with them to bring them back and they would fix them. I explained to him that my teenage daughter is driving this car and if there is a problem it could be a fatal one and not just a flat. Knowing this he stated it was still nothing he could do, I'm not really sure if it's Mavis's policy and this is what they are tell managers or if they know up front that they are selling outdated tires which reflect in their prizing. So as of now they have lost a customer and any referrals on my behalf to use there business. So once again BUYER BEWARE ! read more

We had 4 ties put on our mini van less than a year ago. Out mechanic happened to see that the inside seems where separating and had air bubbles that could have caused a blowout and killed us. We took them back and Mavis would not offer a refund only exchange, of the same tire brand. Now the rear tires are doing this. Again tried to get an exchange at least BUT they only offered the same brand which is obviously defective. I purchased tires from here 14 months ago which since then I have put 23,000 miles on my new tires. The warranty for the tire life was supposedly 50,000 miles. I got less than half of the tire life out of them and my tires are completely bald. I went in to discuss a warrantee option and all I was told was I can only do a prorated amount which ended up saving me only $15 a tire. After going back-and-forth with them, demanding some sort of reimbursement or new set of tires since I only received half of the life of my tires, they would not budge and made me pay for new tires. When I went back to get the new tires put on I also paid for an alignment. When I pick my car up from the alignment, my steering wheel was at a 20° left-hand turn when my car was going straight. They then proceeded to tell me to come back the next day since they don't have time to fix it right now. This was an absolute obscene interaction and unacceptable customer service. I do not recommend them to anyone. When I talk to them about the warranty, you can tell it's all a script that they have to say and tell me. They do not deserve to be in business. They have lost all of mine and my families business. I will be contacting corporate to get some kind of reimbursement for having to pay for new tires after just 23,000 miles. read more
