Went there to get air in my tires and when I went down the road my car started to shake and I realized that I had a flat tire. I WILL NOT be bring my car there for any reason. They cost me a brand new tire, they lost a customer cause they are careless, and when called to complain about them, they acted like I was lying. I sent my daughter in to a MAVIS located in Pensacola, FL to have two brake light bulbs replaced. They charged her $20 for the bulbs and $60 for labor, $30 for each bulb. The process for replacing the bulb requires the removal of ONE screw and unplugging the bulb, plugging in the new bulb and then tightening back the screw.....5 minutes maximum to complete! You hear stories of women being taken advantage of by mechanics, and this was no exception. I called to speak with their store manager, Brian, and he saw no issues with what they charged her and how they do business. If this is honestly the way that MAVIS operates company wide, they should really BE AVOIDED BY ALL CONSUMERS. read more

Brought my car in to get brakes done. They said it would be an hour and a half. I waited 6 hours without a call. The guys said they weren't able to do it because one of the bolts were too tight and they stripped it. I picked the car up with no repair to my brakes and on the way home I immediately realized that my brake pedal would go to the floor without engaging. I called them about the issue. They said they didn't touch my lines and that I must have done something to it, ​Even though I was still on my way home from their shop. I went home, put my car on a jack and found they severed my brake line, disconnected my emergency brake and never put it back on, and they lied about all of it. I don't recommend getting any service here. ​Way to go Mavis.. thanks for risking my life just to make a little extra cash. read more

We had our brakes light on. Took the car here. Suddenly a car that had no problems "wouldn't start", needs a new battery. needs new tires, needs brakes and all to the tune of EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS. I had 2 new front tires put on my vehicle. After I got home I realized the lug nut covers were missing off both the rims. Either they forgot to put the covers back on or they didn't put them on right and they flew off somehow. I called them and they said "we have a drawer where we keep the other misplaced lug nut covers, let me check". Then came back to the phone to say "no they didn't have them" and refused to accept any responsibility over the matter. Obviously it is a common occurrence if they have a drawer full of misplaced covers! I will never go back to Mavis! Especially after reading all the other bad reviews on here. read more

My husband ran over a large screw in Gulf Shores and we took it to Mavis. They have always provided superior service and this was no exception. Madison greeted us and explained they had several in front of us and it may take up to an hour. They got to it as soon as possible and at no charge. Can't beat that! Worst tire shop I've ever been to. The customer service is atrocious. Never have I felt like I was imposing at a business when I was giving them almost a $1000. It took all day to put tires on my wife's car, with an appointment. Then it had a hop and a tire that kept going flat. I took the car back to them and again it took from noon till 8am the next morning to tell me there was a nail in the tire. It wasn't there before I dropped it off that's for sure. Since it was a run flat they told me I had to buy another tire at full price. Well I didn't let them work on the car.I took it elsewhere. Big surprise the wheel had a magic crack, it wasn't cracked when it went in there for tires. That wheel is $600 at Mercedes. I found someone to fix the wheel. Needless to say this is the WORST tire shop ever. I wouldn't send my enemies there for repairs or tires. read more

Should have read the reviews 1st before going to Mavis. Made an appt. for new tires. Was told it would be 30 minutes or so before they could help me. Asked why I had to make an appt. if they don't honor it. Man at the desk was very rude and said well if you didn't have an appt. it would be 1 1/2 to 2 hours wait. Another said no problem I will take it now. Then they said I needed new brakes. I told them I would deal with that at another time. Two hours later they finally got done with putting 4 new tires on my truck. They always want to sell you more than you ask for. Probably won't go back there. read more

Don't even know where to begin with this review. My Jeep Wrangler has a major problem with turning left. I lose control turning. The mechanic said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. Also said it never did it when he drove it. Such a lie. Blamed my transmission. Transmission is fine. I went to pick up my jeep, and of course my front end is violently shaking, and not allowing me to turn. Unless you're Helen Keller you can't miss it. Very unknowledgeable staff. Waste of time. First experience at Mavis a few weeks ago was great which leads me to today... My mom's car needed a simple spring adjustment replacement on the rear drum of her PT Cruiser so we wanted to take care of that for her. We had dropped the car off a week ago and they called to let us know the drums had been cleaned and was ready for pickup. Ummm, so the spring adjustment we removed is still missing? Oh, let us call you back on that. So the call back went something like this; We can't get the part, it is a Chrysler part. Advanced doesn't even carry it. We can't get it. So we offer to bring the part to them that we know we can get at Advanced over in Pensacola where we live. Nope, can't do that, it's a liability. Hmmm, ok. So we decide we will take the car to Chrysler and have it fixed for her. And herein lies the problem with telling a whopper....the part is only made after market. $3 at Advanced Auto Parts. Chrysler doesn't even make the part. Straight up lie. I would have more respect for a business that told me A). We are too busy to deal with such a small fix. B). We don't know what we're doing. C). We don't want your business. So they have lost a customer that spent $400 less than a month ago and won't be getting any referrals from this family and if you are searching for integrity and honesty from someone you are doing business with, may I suggest you shop elsewhere. read more

We had Professioal Body Shop in Foley do some work on our 2014 Dodge Ram one ton truck. This is the shop they took it to have the alignment done..... We got it back the steering wheel was 180 degrees off center. We called to speak to the manager about the need to have the alignment redone....he was quite put out. He told us to bring it in at the end of the next day and wait till they could get to it. We travel fulltime 40ft of 5th wheel. The alignment still didnt feel quite right but we continued onto Cheyenne. We called Cowboy Dodge describing our concerns.....they suggested we have it towed to them and Not drive it. On inspection they discovered the Drag link bolts where almost off...... The Alignment Shop should have seen this while doing there job. While the The Dealership was driving our truck to their alignment shop the drive link bolts let go toeing in the front tires........ That could have happened to us anywhere on our trip from Foley to Cheyenne towing our fifth wheel....killing us and our 3 dogs. Total neglect by the alignment shop............ Took my suv in for brakes. They said I needed all new rotors and pads. The cost was $590.50. They charged me $59.99 for a brake system flush. The brakes have been making noise for months. I took the car to the dealership for a regular oil change, tire rotation, and systems check. The dealership told me that I needed to have the brake system flushed because the fluid was extremely dirty. I made and appointment at Mavis to address the noise and dirty fluid. When I got there, the man told me that there was no way they could get to it for several hours. I made an appointment for another day. I took it in for the appointment at 11:00. At 1:05 I had not heard from them so I walked back outside to look into the shop. My car was up on the rack but no one was working on. I went back inside to the desk and the man told me that they could not hear any noise so they could not fix it. I asked if they had flushed the system and he said they didn't because it was "ok""for it to be dirty because it was used for awhile. I blew my stack and told him to get my car off the rack if they are not going to work on it. As we drove away, the brakes still made the same sound when we stopped at the intersection. read more

Go to Fausak! Wanted rear brake pads replaced. Service guy said I would need to replace pads, rotors AND calipers to the tune of $800-$1000. He hadn't even looked to truck. I knew what was wrong but couldn't replace them myself because I had burned my hand the previous day. I told him to just replace pads and he refused. Said it "wouldn't work". Was upset when I left. Went across the road to Fausak. They treated me right. Only replaced the pads as needed. Said nothing was wrong with rotors or calipers. Mavis is a scam and will lie to get more money into job at hand. Please just go to Fausak. Will treat you like family and will not scam you. They also replaced all the light bulbs that were out or didn't work! Total bill was $237! Quite a difference read more

My husband took his Ford 150 pickup to Mavis Tire in Foley a week ago Sunday, Nov. 17th to have his tires Rotated and his oil changed. On Monday he noticed an big oil leak under the truck in our driveway. Heading to the Ford Dealership to have that checked out, he heard a thump, thump, thump, coming from the front end of the vehicle. The truck was diagnosed by Ford as having a bad left front hub, and a oil pan gasket leak, along with a side note of "a mess of oil all over the bottom of the truck". I attempted to contact the store manager "Phillip" on two separate occasions and seven days later and a $2K repair bill from Ford, have still not heard from Phillip nor anyone from Mavis. My question is, if I had a major oil leak, which Ford said I did, why would they not say anything to me about it but yet they went ahead and changed my oil charging me $74. Not being allowed to address this with the store manager, I have to wonder if these two major repairs were a direct result of something their mechanic did. They have now lost my business, I will go elsewhere. read more

I will never go back to Mavis Tires in Foley. They tell you it's best for you to make an appointment so you do make an appointment for a particular time you're the first one in the entire store and yet you're the sixth one out. Took 2 and 1/2 hours to get new tires. Which talked to the gentleman at the counter to see how much longer it was going to be he told me another 30-40 minutes I said how could that be when I was the first one in your store when you guys first opened up. The manager tells me well you're getting 4 new tires to which I replied and that's my problem how. He looked at me and said I'm just the assistant manager I don't need to put up with this. I laughed and said put up with what customers. If you can't speak with customers then you don't need to be on the front line. Not to mention the price of my tires was one price and then when I got there it was another price. But they did a just that. I will never go back read more

I called and spoke with a very friendly and professional lady who setup my oil change and (4) new tires to be installed 2 days later. Upon arriving the guy at the desk had no idea what he was doing or how to handle customers. I stood around while the guy looked frantically for help from his colleagues. A mechanic had to come inside and take my information and they sent me on my way with a 4-5 hour turn around. Came back at the 5 hour mark and my vehicle hadn't been touched or moved. No one inside had any explanation other than other people came in and needed help, even though I scheduled my service 2 days ahead of time. Absolutely the worst experience with any tire service store. If you want good true help, go somewhere else, take my word for it. read more

Dropped my car off to have four tires installed . Was promised it would be done by 530 PM the day I dropped it off. Asked if I could pick it up the next morning, they said no problem, it would still be ready by 530PM if I changed my mind or I could pick it up the next morning. Come in the next morning, the car had never moved from where I parked it. Their only response was to blame the tire tech for "dropping the ball". And their web quote, well expect added charges when you walk in the door for installation the web quote doesn't cover but are mandatory. UPDATE: Called Moyer Ford (Foley Al.) and got the exact same tires cheaper, installed, and no high pressure upsell like Mavis Tires tried. read more

We took out can in to have a tire repair. It had a nail and needed to be repaired. The man that helped my husband was rude and the tire that was repaired was not put back correctly because now the car shakes at 65 mph when it is driven. This was caused by the installation of the tire. And to top it off he kept arguing politics! Yes, you read that right! So, because of that reason we will Never ever go back! I've been taking my car to this location for years even as they've changed names. Today they lost my business and recommendations completely. I stopped by yesterday for an oil change and they had a long wait so they said come back Sunday and it's less busy. I made an appointment for 10:30. At 12:20 they still hadn't touched my car or even had the courtesy to tell me it would take this long. The last time I had an appointment I still had a long wait. What good is it to make an appointment??? The disrespect for their customers time is mind boggling! The lack of concern about the whole issue makes me wonder what they'll change their name to next.
