Still waiting to hear back from Regional Manager... In June 2025, I scheduled a Sunday morning appt (yeah, I know) for an alignment at Mavis in Lilburn after replacing front end components on my truck the previous day. I was told by the tech with the adjustable wrench that he couldn't get it right. I then was told that another tech who could get it right was out until Monday. I dropped the truck off on Monday morning. The first call I received back was about my tires (on my to-do list but not on that day). I was told that they had not yet reattempted to complete the alignment and it couldn't be properly aligned without new tires (not true). I somehow convinced them to proceed. I picked up the truck a few hours later. Tech and sales guy tried to tell me that I needed one (1) shock on front right side and that might be affecting the alignment (yeah, I know). I left without a proper alignment (after paying $125). Out of curiosity, I checked the outer tie rod lock nuts and both were loose. I tightened them back up (22mm by the way) and contemplated the future of my front end. Did this just happen? Today, the tires were replaced and alignment completed at an unnamed shop which currently is in a promotions deal with your Atlanta Braves. In addition to Mavis leaving the lock nuts loose on the outer tie rods, it appears that the recently replaced lower ball joint (front right side) was missing the cotter pin and the nut was half way off. What am I supposed to conclude here? This fact combined with loose nuts on the outer tie rods after the so-called alignment last week leads me to believe the worst about my experience at this shop. Yesterday I stopped in to the Mavis Tire shop to have my wife's car tires rotated on my lunch break. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that one of the techs at my home location in Decatur off Snapfinger Wood had been promoted to store manager at the Lilburn location. I say all that to say that this young man remembers me and my cars and work done on them. Simply incredible, outstanding standing customer service and personality for days with my guy here. The Lilburn store is lucky to add this man to their arsenal of cool and capable staff no doubt!! I'm sure I will be making more trips to this location now that he is in the building!!! Since the new management, I have had nothing but good experiences at this location. The past two times I have been, I have had them suggest procedures, but ultimately they leave the decision to you. Everyone there has been nothing but polite, and the facilities are a great place to work and wait while your car is getting serviced. However, you won't get much work done because their speedy service will get your in and out around an hour. I most definitely will continue to keep coming back to this location for all my mechanical needs. read more

Would give no stars if possible. I will never go again and I advise you to not go at all. 1) They were dishonest with problems. 2) They did not honor reservations. 3) They charged more than advertised. 1) I went back to them because they had tires that matched the ones I had. This was a mistake. When I took my vehicle in to get tires before, they told me that the back brakes needed to be replaced immediately. Changing brake pads and rotors is a thing I do myself. When I went to change pads and, perhaps rotors, I found that a couple of the lugs had been stripped. The rotor and pads were fine. I can only imagine that they were covering up the stripping of the lugs. Even if that was not true, the brakes had a lot of life left in them. This cost me a tone of time and money. 2) It took me 3 visits and a lot of time to change 2 tires. I made a reservation online. When I showed up a the reservation time, I was told it would take hours to get to my car. I remade the reservation for another day. I have to manage my time well so I immediately put the time in my calendar. It is possible that I made a mistake but when I showed up, they said they my reservation was for 2 hours later (honest, or not, I do not know). Accepting that I might have made a mistake, I accepted the request to come 2 hours later. Even after that, I had to wait 2 1/2 hours for them to replace 2 tires. Others in the waiting room were also very agitated that their car was still not done. 3) The cost I had quoted and agreed to online was not the amount I had to pay by at least 10% A mechanic neighbor (who helped me with #1) said he wouldn't trust Mavis to fill his tires with air. I would not go that far but I would strongly advise you not to use them. read more

Visited this location due to my tire pressure light coming on all of a sudden. I was worried I needed a plug or worst... A NEW TIRE! One of the managers, Gabriel, assisted me immediately and addressed my concerns. Luckily, my tires were over the PSI limit for the car. No need to spend money! So grateful! Find somewhere else. -Waited 4 hours even with an appointment and a call the day prior to make sure they would be able to get me in and out quickly. -Did not replace valve stems that were supposed to be included in the price -Had them align the car and it drove worse than before they touched it. Took it somewhere else and the specs they claim were nowhere near what other shop read. Drove great after other shop got it to the specs Mavis claimed they did. -While waiting 4 hours with 5 employees present I did not see much actual work being done. Terrible place. Took my car there because the check engine light came on. Waited there for 6 hours. Told me they fixed the issue with my car. Two days later the check engine light came back on. Took my car back to the. They explained that they found something else wrong with the car as to why the check engine light came back on. Paid to get the issue fixed a second time. A week later my car's check engine light came back on. Took my car to a different mechanic shop and was told that the parts that the Mavis mechanic told was replaced, was in fact wasn't replaced and that is why the light keeps coming back on. I am so pissed because I spent hours there twice to get my car fixed and was lied to about the issue being fixed, when it wasn't. read more

They didn't do the alignment the first time I left my car, I took it a second time and it didn't look completely good and apart they left everything dirty the interior, the seats, the rudder and the rest for very dirty, they should be more careful because I already have time taking my cars there, I think that the continuous change of personnel is the problem! I had an emergency the night before and had a flat tire (side panel busted) at 12:30am - my dad helped call some places in the morning and Kauffman Tire, located off Luxomni (by the Lawrenceville Highway Home Depot), had availability for us and at a great price. We were quoted over the phone and honored a very reasonable price for two Toyo tires. Afterall, who changes just one tire? We brought the car in around 11:30am and even though it was a very busy Saturday for them, they were able to have the car ready by 2:15pm. What I noticed here was the great service provided by the staff here. Jackie was extremely friendly to my dad and I and genuinely seemed like she cared about her customers. David (a manager, maybe?) was also very nice to us and even stopped and chatted with my dad about car stuff (that I know nothing about). There was a small hiccup where our new tires were supposed to in the back (tires with the most tread aka brand new tires should ideally be in the back) and they were both on the right side, but they fixed us up in a heartbeat. This Mavis location deserves negative stars! No point in making an appointment they do it when they feel like it. Made an appointment for 9 am, was told it would be around two hours (I was good with that). I called at 11:30 it hadn't even moved from where I parked it. Then once they do finally start the work the break your vehicle beyond their repair and you have to take it to the dealership to fix there mistake. End result they are costing me about 1000 out of pocket for repairs that they refuse to pay for after they broke it. Summary if you don't want your vehicle damaged don't go to mavis... ever! read more

I really like this location. All of the employees have been so friendly and helpful. Getting in and out may sometimes be a problem. It's located off of Lawrenceville Hwy.(US-29), next to Arby's, and across the street from La Sabrosita. They have a drink station that offers coffee, bottled water, and canned sodas. The seating is pretty limited; they only have 7 chairs. The restrooms are clean, a plus! They also have a flat screen with a good bit of channels to help kill the boredom, if you get lucky enough to have the remote. We're usually in and out as quick as they can get our car up. I had been a Kauffman customer for 20 years. I recently took my car in for a rotation and check a small leak. I left the vehicle for the day. Five days later, the tire was low again. It took two more trips to get the tire looked at again. Kauffman has been purchased by a Florida based chain called Mavis. It's too bad the excellent service of the former Kauffman seems to be gone under new ownership. Plenty of other competitors in the area. read more

RUN FAR AWAY!!! I scheduled an appointment online to drop my car off for balance and rotation at this location and dropped it off at 10:30am. The front desk employee told me it would be 2 hrs so I went grocery shopping and came back 2.5 hours later and my car hadn't even moved. I went in and talked to the employee and she stated that my car was next to get pulled in and it would only be 1 hour. I ran home to unload my groceries that weren't ruined from waiting and another 3 hours later I finally received a call that my vehicle was ready. I asked what time they closed and was told 6 so I started getting ready so I could pick it up asap. I called again at 4:50pm when I left my house just to confirm everything was completed and asked what time they closed again and another person told me 5pm but to come on since other customers were picking up. I arrived about 5:05pm and waited to be checked out and pay for the services. The district manager (Daniel) came up from the shop area to assist another customer when I noticed he had a gun on his waist with his shirt tucked behind it to display the weapon. I paid and left and reached out to corporate regarding my entire experience and escalated it to customer service and HR. I find it very unprofessional to give timeframes that they don't anticipate to meet and then to have a firearm displayed. Daniel (manager) reached out to me and apologized and offered me a free oil change, I professionally rejected as I don't want them touching my vehicle again and No telling what they may do to my vehicle or how long it would take. This place is horrible. Do not go hear. My experience was that they lied to me several times in one day. The did work I didn't authorize them to do. They said I needed things that I had just had inspected at my Volvo dealer and was cleared for just days before. I was misquoted prices and charged higher. There is no manager on duty and the regional is not very prompt to solve problems and has poor communication skills. He threw his own employee under the bus when I went to get my prices adjusted and after my getting very stern with the employee I got all the credits I was due. I am grateful I got my refunds. Thanks for paying for my new wipers after you're folks threw away ones that I just had put on at Volvo. Thanks for the coupon payment that I was entitled to. Be careful if you decide to go there. I just had a friend go and they replaced his wipers without approval and expected him to pay for them. They credited his bill. That's my story. read more

Horribly slow service. Bought 4 new tires here 2 weeks ago as I had a tire punctured. They neglected to see the rim damage & sent my car home w/ a hole in the rim. Tire goes flat at home, came back to get it fixed only to have the car shake after leaving. Come back 2 week's later to find that the rotors they said were fine weren't and had to pay to get those fixed today. Came in at 9:00 am and am still waiting to pay for something that should have been caught on the 1st visit. So far combined 2 visits and 8 hours and counting wasted. Further, they didn't even fix the initial issues I raised - I paid money for them to "turn the rotors" and still have the shaking issue upon braking. DON'T use these guys. I am having someone else fix their mess and my tires are headed to Discount Tire up the street from them. read more

I shopped online for new tires and decided to go with Kauffman based on a quote I generated at their website. However, upon showing the printed quote to the man behind the counter we were told in a mumbly, evasive kind of way that it meant nothing. Despite the fact that the price he quoted was several hundred dollars higher, we decided to buy the tires because we were leaving town in a few days and were short on time. For the same reason we asked for an oil change, specifying when asked, that they use a synthetic blend as suggested by the manufacturer. Three days later, upon starting my car, I received a warning that I needed an oil change immediately. Upon checking my invoice to be sure I paid for an oil change, I saw that they had used conventional motor oil instead of a synthetic blend. I returned to the store, and a different man behind the counter, who never apologized for their mistake or my inconvenience. After long silences spent staring into a computer screen and a random trip to my car where he raised the hood, looked inside, and lowered the hood again, he said he guessed the only thing they could do was another oil change. The only way these people will ever see me again is if their mistake causes damage to my engine because I'll expect them to cover my costs. Do yourself a favor...go somewhere else. read more

First time ever using a Mavis, I normally got to PepBoys, but my work schedule is crazy now so I looked around the area for a local shop for her to go to. I made an appointment and just waited. I'm not sure what happened to Kauffman Tire, but the changeover to Mavis Discount Tire did not do this place any favors apparently. Don't expect any actual service from these people outside of putting a tire on your car. Mavis Discount Tire is by far the WORST experience I've ever had with any auto shop. Long waits, scheduled appointments don't mean a thing to them, employees have TERRIBLE basic communication skills and tend to make very weak excuses for their own sheer incompetence. Not even calling the regional manager and having him yell some very basic common sense lessons at these fools did anything to remedy our situation, as the issue was not only NOT FIXED but was MISDIAGNOSED as well, thanks to said poor communication. I wasn't charged anything, but it cost my wife and I a LOT of our time. It's terrible that this is what became of Kauffman Tire, their service was reasonable. We have spent TWO MONTHS trying to get this issue fixed, and I've HAD IT. Had these been MY employees, their butts would have been in the unemployment line long ago. Seems like a sweet place to work, seeing as to how you don't have to do the absolute basics of your job to keep it, but as you would imagine, being a customer here is only as pleasant as passing a kidney stone wrapped in barbed wire.
