My husband and I were headed to Athens for an appointment and realized we had extremely low tire pressure in a tire and found a nail in it. We called every tire place on our way to see if they had time to patch it and everyone had long waits. Then we got to these guys and they were extremely friendly on welcomed us to come in. We got there and they had long lines in oil changes, emissions, and some people getting tires. We didn't have to wait too long and someone took our car back and found not just the nail in one tire, but one in another tire as well! They didn't just patch what we pointed out, the took the time to be thorough. They were friendly, helpful, and got us safely back on our way in the time they estimated and we should still make appointment! Now I know where to call first! read more

Extremely unprofessional at the way they handled my vehicle during their possession. I took my car in for a simple tire replacement job. Dismount 2 rear tires and mount 2 new tires. I left my vehicle with them for them to freely work on it, and told them I will be back to pick it up before they close. I received a phone call at 1:45PM, they told me that they could not remove my lug nuts. Then proceeded to tell me to come pick up my vehicle. My experience was good so far. Once I arrived to pick up my vehicle (4:25PM), I spoke with the gentleman who I handed my keys to earlier about other solutions. Then I headed back to work. Upon initially driving my car, it just felt different. I also had taken a picture of my miles upon drop off, and it has 2 more miles when I picked it up. I checked my tracking app to see the driving history, and noticed not 1 or 2, but 12 FAST ACCELERATIONS within a 1.65 mile period (Joyride, not a "test-drive"). I originally came to this location due to their previous 4.3 star rating, and didn't think they would mistreat my vehicle like this. I called the store, spoke with Ed - Store Manager, he apologized and tried explaining what had happened. I am very disappointed at how my vehicle was treated. But always get an oil change at express, because it's honestly the same price as doing it myself I can only speak on the oil changes and flat repairs. I've been coming here for about 4 years now. The only negative part of the experience was who I assumed was the manager who fussed at 2-3 of the guys during my short time there openly in front of customers. Unprofessional to us and demeaning to employees. Should the employee put the car part for another customer in a bag and that in its place? Sure? But don't fuss at him in a loud voice in front of everyone. Either training isn't sufficient or this employee needs a reminder of proper procedures. This manager was also stomping around yelling yo all about the 3-hour project that just drive up. Hang in there Tyler and guys. Despite a short tempered boss, you have a great service running here. I get there and they tell me to pull in the first bay and 3 cars that came after me get right in in the next 2 bays. I waited another 20 minutes just to give them benefit of the doubt but seeing them goofing off I decided they are not touching my Mercedes. If I owned this business I would clean house immediately. Upon my arrival I immediately noticed that there were several cars in the parking lot; however, the workers at Express were very organized and handled the volume of customers quite well. Workers kindly guided vehicles around the rear of the building to form a line for entrance into the oil change bays. Despite the crowd oil changes were completed in 10 minutes or less, as advertised, so the wait was not long. Space is a little cramped (considering they're moving cars around) but be patient and they'll get to you pretty quickly. Ambience: ======== For many things at this Express Lube and Oil change location, you can simply pull into a stall and wait in or by your car (think oil change or emissions test). For service that will take longer than an hour, I highly recommend hoofing it to the Panera Bread across the street (instead of waiting in their cramped waiting room). Customer service: ================ This is truly where this place shines. They will thoughtfully share information and opinions that might be helpful. They don't aggressively upsell other services here. My wife and two older daughters feel comfortable going to get service done here and they know they'll be taken seriously. That last bit can't be overstated -- that's huge. They have told us we didn't need certain services performed (or recommended less expensive services) on several occassions. My technician said not to worry, drive it a bit and come back for a FREE retest. Oil change was quick and I even got $5 off for doing both at the same visit! I have always gone to Express for my oil changes, in different locations around Athens and Atlanta. I just left this location, and it was my most pleasant experience yet. As a young woman who knows little about cars, it can be intimidating to have anything done on my car, and I typically dread it. I wish I had caught the kind employee's name (on my receipt it says DAF) who talked with me about football and our shared alma mater (go dawgs). He explained everything so well and I felt really comfortable. He told me prices for anything he suggested, and was honest with me about when he would recommend certain maintenance. Have been here 2x in the past week. First time for my Honda Accord which had been sitting for a while. We were taken care of my Jason. They changed the oil, checked (& filled) all the fluids, all the filters, tires, lights, etc. Told us about a small leak but didn't push us to fix it with them; just made us aware of the problem. And told us about brake lights being out, told us how much replacements were, and went ahead and installed them. (That could've been a traffic stop) I went back a second time with my Nissan Altima. Fortunately, I got Jason again after a small wait. Like the Honda, they serviced the same things. Even pointed out that my windshield wipers that were placed by the previous shop were the wrong size. He replaced them and wow did that make a difference. When he was checking the cabin filter he showed me how the previous shop had put it in the wrong way; he fixed the mistake. On top of that, i had a mechanical question (outside of scope of oil change) and he was more than happy to look it up and talk to the other mechanics. Overall, JASON IS AWESOME, and I like that fact that they give you the option to stay in your car while they do their thing. read more

I've used the Mall of Georgia location for numerous oil changes over the past 10+ years and have never had a bad experience. I get all my emissions done there too. Today I stopped by for an oil change and Angelo was my service tech. He was so personable and communicated the highlights of the service (checked fluids, added windshield washer fluid and added air to my tires.) checked lights, blinkers and horn. This young man was so cheerful and good at his job that he brightened my afternoon! I can't remember when I've had such a positive experience. I hope Angelo's manager truly appreciates what an asset they have in him. Give this location a try if you don't have a regular mechanic for your oil changes.
